Friendly service, new restaurant style interior, great food. This place is a far cry from the Thai Time that was here before.

Kanda Thai Cuisine(New Owner) renovated and will have Grand Opening soon. We went there on Saturday for farewell party with our Thai group. We have to vote 10⁄10 for our Thai favorite dishes. Mr. One,(New Owner), finally runs his own business on Midway Drive, San Diego, CA. If you have a chance to try real Thai foods in San Diego, please don’t miss this restaurant. We love it … Everything is fresh and yummy. Mr. One hope to see you soon.

Best red curry I’ve ever had, great ambiance, friendly and accommodating staff. It’s called Kanda Thai by the way, they just reopened. I’m on a sugar free diet right now and they cooked fresh curry for me without any added sugar, just fresh coconut and were super nice. If I lived in San Diego I would eat here all the time :)

I have eaten at the Thai Time in Clairemont that was so amazing! I I have frequented there many time since. I work in Point Loma and noticed that there is a Thai Time 2 so I gave it a shot for lunch a week ago. I sat down in the booth in the front. and noticed a strange smell. The girl came out and took my order. I ordered the Green Curry with brown rice and tofu. After she left, I kept noticing the smell. A very Dirty smell and I could see soiled stains on the upholstery. I was feeling uneasy at this point. After waiting about 15 minutes and my food was not ready so I got the attention of the older fellow who is trying to look busy behind the counter. He got the cook to speed up my order. My food looked okay except for the brown rice looked old and dried out. I ate it in a hurry then paid my check and left. I did not get sick, and the girl was nice who took my order so I gave them 2 stars.

Terrible service and food. Will never be back. I’m surprise how this place stays in business.

Worst place ever!!! Took more than an hour for my food after i ordered it online… when i got there i was ignored even after i asked for a thai tea… i had to ask twice!!! Food was expensive and nasty!!! Oh yeah and cold!!! As much as i love thai food and its close to an area i visit frequently i will never go here ever again and tell people not to go!!! Seems like they only had one waitress she wasnt mean or rude but worst customer service ever!!! Oh and i never leave bad reviews but i couldnt let this one pass!!!

Gotta love the customer service! We called in an order for pick up 10 mins before they were closing and they still fill filled the order. Even stood open after hours for us! The chicken pad thai was amazing! If you’re in the area you much try it out.

Basic Thai, good food, ample portions, friendly and attentive wait staff. Healthy options– brown vs. white rice. Busy take out for lunch. I would recommend the restaurant to my friends and staff. Fast service. Easy parking is a plus.

I went for lunch and the prices were great for a meal. served with a picture of water. I ordered hot, it wasn’t that hot but it was still good. I ordered the Tom Kha Ga soup to go, that was delicious and it had a kick to it! Which is what I love when I go for Thai or Korean food! A nice place, friendly, think I’ll go back tonight thinking about that soup!

This was always one of favorite places for take out. I hadn’t been here in a while and just had dinner. I am so happy to say the food is still delicious. BIG portions, Very fresh, and the service was great. I almost wish I had eaten there in the restaurant. Next time…

My partner and I stumbled upon this place because we were hungry, it was late, and close to where we were. It ended up being somewhere I’m sure we will go back to. My partner got the beef pad thai which was perfect. And I ordered the tom yum noodle soup, not to be mixed up with tom yum soup. The broth was amazing and just what I was hoping for, not too sweet and not too sour. Having noodles was a good add to the soup as well. I’ve never seen it served like that anywhere else. If you’re not too hungry or only was the soup as an appetizer then don’t get the noodles, it’ll just fill you up before your meal. I’m glad we came across this place! I live for good tom yum!

This place was close to my hotel and I was craving thai food, so I figured I would stop by and try it out. I got the Tom Kha soup and Pad Thai. The soup was delicious, lots of vegetables. The Pad Thai was just ok. Lacking the variety of flavors that make good Pad Thai delicious, so I was a bit disappointed there. Good service, ok atmosphere, but not something I would go back for during my stay here.

This place has OK food(kinda bland/under seasoned) but the portions are large for what you pay and the staff are very nice. Not my favorite Thai but it’s fine for a quick cheap meal when I don’t feel like cooking.

This is a great place for Thai food! The pad Thai and spring rolls are my favorite. I usually order to go and they always have my order ready when promised. Staff is very friendly as well! I would recommend this to someone looking for a good Thai place!

I honestly think this place recently got a new cook that doesn’t know what he’s doing. Huge lack of quality! My chicken fried rice was very mushy soggy with lack of flavor. I’m being 100% honest here. The cleanliness of this location is no good. The same cook that served my sloppy fried rice was lounging out in the back of the restaurant, slouched over watching TV in his dirty apron. Never again!

I’ve been here a few times, a few years ago and went back for the first time in a while a few weeks ago. My parents always raved about their fave«cheap thai» place and I wanted them to put their money where their mouths are. I love Thai food and fell even deeper in love when I went to Thailand and had some of the best food I have ever had. We ordered the egg rolls which were to be expected. I also ordered the vegetarian tom yum soup which was good. I got the pad thai and I just did not like it. There was way too much soy sauce such that I could not taste anything else… all the other typical pad thai’y flavor was completely overwhelmed by the soy sauce. I took a few bites and was over it. I didn’t really think it was«cheap» either. There are a million great Thai restaurants in San Diego, with fresh and good tasting food. Definitely check one of them out!

Located in a very non-descript strip mall, is this always a pleasing Thai restaurant. The wait staff are friendly and efficient. I recommend the Tom Ka soup, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Spicy Lard Na with noodles. The only knock on them is 9 out of 10 times they fail on the spice factor. When I tell a wait person to tell the chef to make my dish a 10 on the spice scale, it comes out a 4. I have tried to explain to them than I would like it to be the hottest that they have ever made, but it usually comes up short. It is still good, so I do come back from time to time.

My husband and I are huge fans of Ra-ka-de-ka Thai and when we were told this place is associated to them we thought we’d give it a try(and we had a BYGO coupon). We ordered chicken pad thai, level 6 spice, for take-out. The food was ready in 10 minutes and was kept hot till we got there. Unfortunately they don’t accept the coupons for take-out, bummer, but we grabbed our food to enjoy at home. We were delightfully surprised that the pad thai was equally as yummy as Ra-ka-de-ka. The portion size was great, the spice was perfect and there was just the right amount of chicken. The dining room didn’t look very inviting, but we’ll keep doing take-out for sure!
