Their food is great! Got the veggie pad see ew and the flavors were perfect! Warning now that things can run a little spicy there(had their papaya salad, medium spice, and my mouth was on fire), but it’s typical for most Thai spots. I always walk by and I’m glad I finally tried it. And they deliver too for $ 5AND they’re open until midnight.

Aside from the inattentive and awkward bartender, this place is an absolute gem! Coming from two Thai food snobs, this place kills it! Authentic food and local beer at a great price. Definitely try their tom kha… you’ll be back every day.

First time here. Food is very good. I ordered the Pad see ew and was very happy to find it is not too oily like many others. I will return soon.

Well… I love this place. After some Bier and Hot Sake settle down and enjoy Happy Hour from 5 to 7. The Appetizers are a great deal and good. They have a extended menu-actually too long to read when buzzed what ever… more mellow than other places further down in OB

I will never frequent this restaurant again. I got take out, ate a little over half and started to feel sick. I called asking for a refund only to be told I had to bring the food back. I brought the food back, they told me I ate too much of it to receive a refund(after I informed them their food made me nauseous). Poorest customer service I have ever encountered. The owner literally told me if I was sick I needed to bring a note from my doctor in order to get a refund. This restaurant has horrible food with even worse customer service. Do not give this place your business.

When I first saw the Thai Time sign indicating a $ 2.99 pitcher, I was young, unemployed, and had just graduated from college. I went there that same night and shared a $ 2.99 pitcher with a friend. Everything seemed so simple and the future was wide open. Shortly thereafter I went through some changes, and so did the pricing of the pitcher. I broke up with my girlfriend, the advertised pitcher price simultaneously rose to $ 4.99. I couldn’t find the job I wanted. Things just didn’t make sense anymore. Weeks passed. After some self reflection and soul-searching I started to embrace the imperfect and transient nature of things. I started dating again. I found a job. The price of the pitcher had decreased to $ 3.99. The future wasn’t going to be everything i had wanted but everything was going to be OK. Now I look back and laugh. I’m hopelessly single again and I hate my job, but at least the pitcher is back down to $ 2.99. And sometimes that’s all you need.

I live 3 blocks away so I’ll keep giving them chances to improve, I could live on Thai food. Not terrible by any means today, but… 1) I confidently ordered 10 out of 10 spicy and once again got a 5, maybe a 6. Please give me the heat, I asked for it and I can take it. 2) Waitress never came by to check on me. I would have liked another napkin, more water and the spice tray that you see in every other Thai place. Nowhere to be seen here, although I saw one on a prior visit. 3) Two tables outside gave up as they were never greeted outside. I’ve been waiting on my check now for 15 minutes, this poor waitress has too many tables. 4) Gangster rap music playing loudly in a Thai restaurant? I was actually happy when a Beyonce song hit the sound system and nobody would consider me a Beyonce fan. But at least a thug wasn’t yelling in my ear through the speakers. 5) Cold spring roll and they apparently forgot the dressing on the salad or were just too sparing with it. I will continue trying this place every month or so, not trying to be mean and just hoping they will improve. Food isn’t exactly bad.

New digs same great value and delicious food! Red curry and pad Thai are always filling the Thai craving! The lunch specials are literally the best deal in OB! 6.99 for a huge delicious lunch with soup salad mini egg roll and mini Somosa and a fairly large entrée! No one can beat that and it’s delicious. Not to mention $ 4 pitcher of Chang beer are you kidding me??? Love this spot!

The only good thing was that they are open until midnight. Pad Thai was okay but everything else made me kind of concerned for my safety because it tasted off, like the kitchen was not cleaned as well as it should have been or something. All the meat was sketch. Pineapple fried rice was flavorless and didn’t have raisins or cashews. Also there wasn’t much rice in the dish and it was a weird color(not the saturated and flavorful dark yellow I’m used to). It’s easy to tell why there was only one other group dining there.

After reading so many negative Unilocal reviews we reluctantly decided to try Thai Time. It’s the only thai place within walking distance to us and the craving was real. Sooo, here we go! First impression: Tuesday evening around 9PM, the place is empty except for one couple sitting at the bar. We choose to sit outside, she serves us water, menus, and then promptly forgets about us. At this point I’m certain that the reviews were right and this place is terrible. Ten minutes later my boyfriend goes inside to order and she is startled back to realization that we were sitting outside: apologizes profusely and everything went way up from there! We ordered: Veg Pad See Ew — Great American version of Thai food, it was actually quite good! No spice, mild flavor, not too sweet or wet. Shrimp Panang Curry — The sauce was grainy but that was the only complaint. The flavor was good and spicy; it came with rice that wasn’t too sticky or dy. Food came out quickly, prices are decent, and the service for the remainder of the dinner was perfect! Worth another shot, we will come back!

amazing first time here!!! got the yellow curry with veggies($ 8.95) which came with broccoli, carrots, peas, potatoes and coconut milk. HEAVEN :) ordered a level 2 which wasn’t as spicy as I had anticipated for a thai place but that was OK. My friend ordered the spicy noodles with shrimp which were on point as well! menu has a ridiculous amount of selections and I think i would try all of it. can’t wait to come back and try their boba or cocktails. came in on a thursday night and service was great — food came quick and waters were always refilled. can’t believe I live next door and have never tried this place, I will definitely be coming back!

I LOVE this place. They have some of the best thai food in SD, quick friendly service, a new bar, $ 3.99 pitchers, the panang curry and the tom yum soup with sea food are my personal favorites. Large portions, great prices. I can’t say enough good things about this place. You can eat and drink outside now too!

I heard negative personal reviews from my friends and decided to try this place for myself anyways. I learned that I didn’t find the food worth my money. I ordered calamari curry, the calamari is so rubbery its inedible. That’s not an exaggeration. I ended up throwing it out, all of it. The«Thai spicy fries» are frozen bag fries. With no sauce, just ranch. Waste of money. Buyers beware, it’s not Thai food.

Awesome food and beautifully remodeled setting. Great service and fresh, tasty dishes. My favorites are red curry, fresh spring rolls with sauces, coconut soup, Pad Woonsen. Reasonable prices, craft beer, wine, Thai tea. Booths, tables, bar. Sometimes we do take out or get it brought to us. One block from Newport Avenue on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard. Must visit!

I usually don’t like to write bad reviews, but I feel this one is necessary. I’m actually writing it as I’m walking out. Their Thai food(sorry to say this) sucks and so does their service. Not once were we checked on nor were our waters refilled. The place is kinda split into two different sections and the other section definitely got a lot more attention than the side I was sitting on. Every table including mine finally got so tired of waiting for the check that we all got up to go pay at the bar. We stacked our plates, trash, everything and the server(s) still couldn’t take the hint… or maybe they did and did not care enough. They looked over plenty of times, walked past plenty of times. but they just ignored us and our attempts to get their attention. A lot of better Thai food places with way better service in my opinion. Don’t know too much about this area, but if not, get sushi instead.

OK I just have to leave this to warn everybody else, now my son ate the pad Thai I don’t know what chemical this is, not even a sauce gonna call this a chemical they put on this for flavoring it is ridiculous deadly disgusting. The pad ram which is broccoli and chicken with peanut sauce, now this was just pure peanut butter with cold watered down broccoli. This is officially the worst Thai food I ever had in my life. And if I even seen my server once during this visit I would be able to complain about it but never saw them so no opportunity. So with the power of the Internet here’s your feedback since I could not be provided in person. YUCK!

Hands down worst Thai I have ever had. I got the Thai fried rice; Extremely bland, the thai/fish sauce was like water and it had way too much cilantro in it. It honestly did not even look like Thai Fried rice. I almost returned it no joke. Instead I tossed it out. I hate to write such a bad review but it was not good at all.

It’s in the area so it’s convenient. The pad thai has been hit and miss and not consistently good. The fresh springs have an awesome peanut sauce. The egg rolls are tasty, but the sauce that comes with the egg rolls is watery and not good at all. Tried the pineapple fried rice recently which was good. Overall: Average.
