My party had to leave becuase one of my friends was feeling sick and had to vomit. A server came and told our party that since she was vomitting in the restroom she could no longer stay at the restaurant. Ive never heard or seen a policy like this. My party and I were also not the«typical,» San Diego group. We were very diverse so who knows what the real issue was. We won’t be returning!

Meh. Loud, overcrowded, took forever to get drinks. Sure it’s PB and it is party crazy and there’s packs and packs of young, drunk party-people everywhere but the bar shouldn’t smell like puke. It should not take an hour to get a beer. It just was not a good experience for my friend and I. Frankly, maybe not my place… doubt I’ll go back.

Great spot for Tuesday nights, especially after 9pm when local drafts are about $ 3, including the IPAs which is a really slick deal. They also sell tacos for taco Tuesday at a discount — the tacos are okay and not my favorite but still not a bad deal. The duck fat fries are quite good and they have some other decent items on the menu. Overall a fun spot with an outdoor patio and ample amount of TVs if there is a good spots game on too.

I’ll try to keep this simple and sweet so I’ll leave it in a list form… -$ 5 mules ARENOT mules. Taste more like a literal mule than a Moscow mule — you want water??? Get it yourself from the ocean out back. Ask twice, they’ll pee in the ocean before — took our menus to give to other tables — took one guy at our tables order before the other 7 of us — the CO2 went out in the tap and they continued to serve us the exact same drink after we mentioned it. I’m not a picky drinker, but when your Pacifico tastes the same as your Moscow mule, something is wrong — ketchup was awful — hostess was nice and attractive, the only redeeming factor — Aiden got double meatloaf, good day for him This was left on 05÷31÷16. I will not revisit after

Duck wings are freaking awesome! Of course right? Actual good sized wings, not like other places. They have a beer burger special for like $ 10, and they always have local beer on tap. Go for their happy hour and you’ll get killer deals in the wings and other food choices! I’ll be back for them wings.

We went here on a Thursday night looking for a dog friendly place in PB. The wait wasn’t long for a late dinner and we had a very attentive waitress and the staff there was friendly giving the pups ice water and even helped us by moving out table outside bc the dogs kept barking so much that they were disturbing guests. Their menu isn’t that big and for some reason you end up not really knowing what you want, but the food was good as bar type food. The wings that night were only $ 5 an order so we got two. Overall good experience!

The Duck Dive has been hit and miss over the last 4 years that Ive gone to it. They have a pretty solid crowd there these days and my group seem to have a pretty good time overall. We went on a Sunday and ordered bottomless Mimosas. They’ll cost you $ 17.50 per person but its actually a really good deal. The staff will consistently bring fresh bottles of champagne to your table, and keep your glass full. You’ll have to get up to get your juice yourself in the far corner near the restrooms/kitchen. The juice bar is actually pretty impressive and includes multiple juices and fresh assorted fruits to pimp your Mimosa out. The food that we had was very good… and for a bar in PB… I was impressed. I highly recommend that you make a reservation if you have a group of people. The Duck Dive is pretty centrally located on the strip.

Duck Dive is my go-to bar in pb! It has a comfortable, chill atmosphere. They always play good music. The service is fast and everyone looks like they’re having a great time at their job. Dogs are welcome on the patio, I bring my dogs everywhere with me, so this is a great place for dog lovers! My favorite drink here is the trophy wife, it’s soooo amazing! They also have bottomless mimosas on the weekend for only $ 20. When we really want to treat ourselves we get the table side s’mores, they’re so cute! Love this place, keep up the good work!

I had a blast at the Duck Dive. They have an interesting take on bar food, plenty of great beer on tap, plus you get a waft of that fresh salty air as you walk in(unless there are patrons smoking outside, which is likely). The reason we came is that the internetz said the Duck Dive was a Husker bar. Indeed it was. By the time the big game started, all 20+ tvs in the smallish bar were tuned to the game and all the bar goers were politely cheering on the scarlet and cream clad young men. We arrived right before the Big Red transition. You could tell it was an all around decent and somewhat divey bar, busy with party goers stopping in for shots before wondering off to the next PB party bar. We ordered some duck wings, naturally, complimented with fries and seemingly gallons of IPAs. Everything was delicious. By the end of the night, Nebraska had come back to beat UCLA and I was taking photos wearing an ex-players Big 8 Championship right. Things got blurry after that. I’d chalk it all up as a great night. So yeah, if there’s a Husker game on, steer clear unless you’re a fan. Otherwise, the Duck Dive is a great spot for a bite to eat and some drinks in PB.

To be honest, I’m very disappointed in the food. The service was pretty chill but the food was in super small portions, was overpriced for the food quantity and quality… And my Dive Salad… Not impressed. Met a few of my friends here last weekend on a Friday night around 7pm. They already had a booth and had ordered one round of drinks and two apps. Once I arrived I could sense they were really having issues with the service. They both headed to the bathroom and I waited about 10 minutes trying to figure out who our server actually was. I eventually headed to the bar to see if I could get service there. It wasn’t particularly busy and I was acknowledged by no one. Finally, a waitress walked by and I asked if I could simply order a drink with her. Instead, she insisted she would find my server. Another 10 minutes later our server appeared. I ordered a beer and it took another 5 minutes for it to arrive at the table… our booth was located right beside the bar. We asked for the check, but then found out one of our other friends was quickly stopping by to join us for a drink(at this point I really just wanted to leave). We informed our waiter of the situation and he told we would now have a new server. We literally waited 20 minutes and still no acknowledgment. I actually felt like we were being straight out ignored because all of the waiters were making eye contact with us but not asking if we had been assisted. We eventually just left. Upon leaving, the hostess noticed our frustration and ran out after us yelling«Thank you! Have a good night!» I have been in the service industry for a while so I do try to be understanding when it is a particularly busy night or mistakes are made, but could not believe how inattentive every single employee was. I didn’t have any expectations for this bar, but will definitely not be back in the future.

Really enjoy this place. The staff is friendly and professional, the service is good and the food is great. The environment is also enjoyable and it’s never too hard to get a drink. Surprised this bar isn’t ridiculously packed like the other ones in PB but that’s probably because it’s a few blocks north of mainstream PB.

Duck Dive is the place to be on Sunday’s, simply for their mimosa bar. They have a table with assorted fruits and juices to make your mimosa. They bring a bottle for you(and your table) and you make your own mimosas! It’s so much fun. Duck Dive has a fun atmosphere and is a good spot to watch football. I’ve only had their brunch, but it was delicious! Duck Dive is a fun place to go for mimosas and at night for a drink.

Food was delish and the service fantastic! Britney was really nice, helpful and seemed to really enjoy her job. Jenny, the manager, was equally nice and friendly. The hostess and the busboy were also very friendly and serviceable(unfortunately I do not remember their names). All in all, we are glad we stumbled upon the Duck Dive. It instantly became a favorite spot for my whole family… and we all have different tastes! So here’s how it went down. My family and I were on our way to Dirty Birds for all you can eat wings yesterday, but the place was beyond packed due to a game they were showing and we were hungry, so we decided to try the DUCKDIVE just two doors down. From the get go we were pleasantly received by the hostess who offered some menus to check out and explained the specials. We decided the menu looked decent and chose to stay. At first, the only spot available was a table next to the door. It was really cold, but the hostess promised to keep an eye out for a table away from the door once it opened up. Sure enough, within 10 – 15 minutes, she walked over to move us. Britney, our waitress, had a beautiful smile and demeanor that instantly made us all feel comfortable. Among the specials yesterday were $ 5 mules, $ 10 draft beer and burger, and 2-for-1 meatloaf dinner. 2 of us instantly opted for the mules, the others regular drinks. Unfortunately, neither of us liked our mules so we asked if we could change. No dirty looks, attitude or negative vibe at all! Instead, we got the same nice smile and a «sure, what would you like instead?». Not sure how big the appetizers were, we decided to try their Duck Fat Fries with duck meat(of course) and their wings. WOW, so tasty! both were so good that we each ordered dinner. I went for the burger, medium rare with bacon and fried egg. It was cooked to perfection! Really moist, actually medium rare, runny egg, perfectly crisp bacon, and a side of fries that you simply cannot stop eating! My husband went for the homemade tomato and blue cheese soup with pasta wheels and grilled cheese sandwich called«Uh Oh Spaghetti O’s». Uh Oh indeed… this has to be the best tomato soup I’ve ever had! My dad, who does not like blue cheese, even liked the soup. The flavors are really balanced! And the grilled cheese… YUM! My dad went for the«Chef’s Whim» which is the chef’s choice of the day. Yesterday it was a steak with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. The steak again, cooked to perfection, actually rare like my dad requested. The mashed and gravy had a nice hint of rosemary. And the veggies were clearly fresh and not soggy. A nice mix of green and red peppers, zucchini, and mushrooms. My mom went for the wings! She made that her meal with the Franks red hot sauce. They were big and a great balance between meaty with a crispy bite. It comes with a ranch that tastes garlicky… just the way we like it. And the celery and carrots were very fresh and crisp. Though we were really stuffed, we ended up having the«tableside s’mores» for desert. What a fun treat. Marshmallows, Hershey’s bars and graham crackers on a board with a small fire pit the size of a medium candle. Really fun to do at the table and who doesn’t like s’mores! I actually told my husband that would be a fun little treat for a date… nice and romantic, or just playful. Either way, you can’t go wrong. At the end, we are so HAPPY we were not able to get into the place we set to go and landed at Duck Dive instead! Thanks Britney!

Duck Dive… the bar of PB. This place is great. The staff, food, drinks, and ambiance are all winners. I love football Sundays in Duck Dive throwing back endless mimosas until the champagne makes watching the football game difficult with all the spinning. Jokes… kinda. Seriously, try a football Sunday at this place. Endless mimosas for $ 15 and the food is delicious too. Garlic fries are a must if you’re staying longer than just one possession. Definitely will remain a regular at this place. Always a win, especially on Sundays!

Duck Dive is a go-to spot for me and my friends. Our favorite days of the week to go here are Tuesday nights and Sundays, specifically for the awesome deals they have on those days. Tuesday nights are always packed because they have $ 2 local draft beers all night! They have a pretty large selection of beers as well. I also love the $ 3 Jack Honey & Lemonade deal they have that night too. Sunday’s are great for brunch with friends and watching football. The atmosphere is always up beat and fun and usually crowded! Sometimes it’s hard to get a table if we don’t make a reservation. I really love the $ 15 unlimited mimosa bar. They have fresh fruit and different juices you can add to your champagne instead of being stuck with just orange juice! The service is pretty good, Brooke is my favorite server, she’s awesome and so much fun! The reason why I won’t give them five stars is because I’m not a huge fan of their food. I LOVE their Duck Fat Fries but not much else, especially not the tacos. They were too small & I just wasn’t a fan of the taste. Everything else I’ve tried hasn’t been too stand out so I usually only come here to drink, watch football and hang out with friends rather than come for a meal.

One of the cooler places in PB, this place is vibin’ with excellent live music on the weekends and has a chill atmosphere. The bartenders a super chill and it seemed like the bar back was our server because our server was non-existent half our stay. Their alcohol page is just as big as their food menu and I highly recommend the sucker punch if you love Jameson. They have fish bowl sized versions of their drinks and great choice of beer and their servings of the food are pretty well-sized but that’s what you’re paying for. I ordered the three pigs sandwich(three types of pork with cheddar cheese and sautéed spinach on ciabatta) for about $ 16 and had to split it with my boyfriend because I wouldn’t have been able to finish it. I really love this place for their live music and nifty mixed drinks even though it was on the more pricier side. Our meal of one entrée and three drinks cost $ 38 but it is a cool place to hang out and watch the game.

This bar has decent beer specials. They also have nice fish bowls. But as someone who is a regular in PB, most of their staff is terrible. My close friend was not let in the bar due to a bouncer(who has been punished for breaking the rules previously) who wanted to demonstrate he has control. This was unforgivable, my friend is of age with a legal California ID. The fact that my friend was not let in, while we were insulted by a bouncer here, is unforgivable. Just because this bouncer wanted to make a point to his own credibility, which he doesn’t have any, our day was ruined. If this guy thinks randomly selecting patrons to reject from entrance is the best way to secure his job, there is no reason why me and my friends should choose to spend our money here. Unforgivable.

Date of visit: 10/10/2015 Cam and I used to go to Duck Dive a lot when they first opened a couple of years ago, but the quality has just gone downhill. They used to have these awesome sliders, which were super delicious. I think they still have sliders, but they’re not as good as they used to be, nor do I get home in time for happy hour any more. On Saturday, we decided to invite a bunch of friends down to watch the Utah vs. Berkeley football game. Since it was an ESPN featured game, we(wrongfully) assumed Duck Dive would be playing the game. Although we had a reservation and confirmed with the hostess that the football game would be playing, the guys were disappointed that the game wasn’t playing. The manager said we would have to wait until one of the other games was over. I get it — lots of people come in and have different requests, but we had specifically asked that this game be played. While we waited for another game to end, the guys just watched the game on their phone. Salmon Seafood Risotto. This was the special of the night and I thought it would be more like the salmon risotto from Opera Café, which has perfectly cooked salmon on top of a bed of cheesy risotto. The Duck Dive risotto had a big chunk of salmon on top of a bed of tomato risotto, which gave the entire dish a sweeter flavor. I wasn’t a big fan of all of the crazy seafood(squid, mussels, etc.), but if you’re a seafood lover, this would have been a great dish. Prime Rib Dip. Since I didn’t have too much to eat of the risotto, I opted to order a sandwich for myself. I ate half of it and took the rest home, which heated up really nicely in the oven a couple of days later. The au jus is a little too oily for me, but does give the dish some needed moisture. Everyone really enjoyed the fries, so I ordered another plate of fries for everyone to share. Duck Fat Fries. This was a good dish to share with the table(who doesn’t like fries?), but I was more unhappy with the service. Since everyone was piled on to one side of the table to watch the game(because they only put it on one TV), we had a lot of dishes piling up. The waitress who gave me the fries didn’t warn me that the plate was hot, but rather looked at me confused as to why I was hand her back the plate. Luckily, my fingers can take the heat, but I know Cam would have dropped that plate had he been the one holding it. My fingers were only slightly burned, and the stinging went away after my 3rd amaretto and coke. Overall, Duck Dive is just another bar with bar food in PB. It’s a little more expensive since their food is a little fancier, but it’s just okay in my book. I used to really love coming her a couple of years ago, but the whole experience just isn’t the same.

OHWOW. I did not expect to like the food here this much. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, and I have seriously never enjoyed biscuits and gravy this much. It came with scrambled eggs, two baked biscuits, sausage, side of potatoes, and a sausage gravy. The biscuits alone were amazing. They were so soft but on some sides, the biscuit was buttery and crispy. I love that I could hear a crisp to it! I ordered the gravy on the side(in case I didn’t like it) but I assume it offsets being soaked in gravy. Everything else was really good and I had no complaints about the eggs. Everything was great. Service was also great, and they frequently checked up on us to refill our waters. I’m excited to come back, and hopefully I have the courage to try something new cus those biscuits were bomb!!! Kudos for being open earlier than other brunch spots!

A Pacific Beach bar and eatery that’s been around for a few years. It’s at the perfect location smack dab in the hub of many different activities that are always going on around this area, with many good bars and other restaurants also in this area, you could park and walk to a hundred different places all day long, and make a day of it. I would include a beach day on the sand, and when you get hungry, go to the Duck Dive and here’s your lunch spot. ;) I was greeted upon arrival as soon as I took a seat at the bar. The female bartender was very cordial, and after I gave her my order and paid, she asked if I’d like water or any other drink and I declined, then waited for our food. Very nice and welcoming. The large, open windows sent a welcoming, cooling breeze through the restaurant. Very chill vibe. 15 minutes later, the food arrived and we were off to a picnic. I had the blackened mahi mahi sandwich, and it was excellent. My daughter had the Duck Dive burger, and she said it was delicious. Even though Duck Dive has fried fish, as well as tacos, I’d take a blackened fish sandwich any day over a fried fish taco. There is just something about having it grilled and seared with the hot blackening spices. There was a nice kick. All I woulda needed was an Irish Mule, but I don’t drink that early in the day & that’s just me. I have found that not many other people blacken meats the way that I do, but at Duck Dive, they do it just like me: thick coating of rub ;) The blackened fish sandwich is served on a ciabatta roll, nicely crisped and spread on both sides with a house-made tartar sauce, topped with tomato relish, onion and then butter lettuce. It’s simple, unpretentious, and delicious. Your sandwich comes with duck fries and you have a choice. The plain ones are just like skinny shoestring potatoes, and then there are those that are garlic-Parmesan, which are very tasty. I don’t usually eat French fries, but I did like these and ate a bunch. There are many sandwiches I would like to try, and you can bet we will be back soon to try other things. This is a nice bar with a chill vibe that has great bar food. Really nice that it’s located a half block from the beach.

Met up with my hot mama’s for brunch here. We made a reservation(super highly recommended) for our big group. Parking anywhere in PB is similar to pulling nose hair… so make sure you & your navigation assistant are mentally & physically prepared for parking hunting. Duck Dive is an awesome place to «celebrate» early in the AM. It’s loud, busy & the mimosas keep coming. That’s football moms for ya! Yes we love our happy hour any hour! Food wasn’t too bad… but most are greasy. I guess it compliments the drinks. Our server was excellent… she took very good care of us. Cheers!

So I came here for SD Burger Week, and I might have to admit that it was one of the greatest steals of all time. The promotion was their Duck Dive Burger for $ 5(without the fries). It’s normally 10 $+ so I got an amazing deal! As a prelude, I think getting the burger for more than 50% off just made it 50% tastier ! Alright, so here’s the rundown: I came here on Sunday around 8p and the guy outside was checking ID’s. One of our friends wasn’t 21, but he let him in anyway… so I’m not too sure on what the rules are of when you need to be 21+ to enter. My friends and I all went with the Duck Dive Burger with a side of Duck Fat Fries to share, and this one side was more than enough for all four of us. The fries were really crispy and salted really well. I’m not much of a fry person, but there was this one orange sauce that was incredible. PROTIP– their ketchup is not your normal ketchup… it tasted off and none of us really liked it. The burger itself was quite massive and dripping in grease. I would’ve given this place 5 stars, but by the end of it, there was actually a pool of oil on my plate. The patty was a giant, thick slab. Super juicy, medium rare-goodness. There weren’t any vegetables other than a slice of lettuce, so it was very heavy. I don’t know if I’d pay the normal price for this burger, but for the next SD Burger Week, this’ll definitely be my go-to place.

My friends came here for brunch on New Years Day. We were looking for bottomless mimosas but they didn’t have a deal because it wasn’t the weekends. Booo, can’t make an exception for New Years? Despite the minor setback, our experience was still a good one… The highlight of the meal: PORKBELLYHASH Whoa. It was just perfect. Two poached eggs served over a bed of medley of colorful potatoes and a side of pork belly bliss! I really liked the use of ingredients. The potatoes included regular potatoes, purple yams, and orange sweet potatoes. They also had a meatloaf hash, but that one didn’t taste as good as the pork belly. I also ordered a Bloody Mary, which came with a bacon and olive. It definitely hit the spot!
