I work near this location, so I eat here often. I bought an Arizona iced tea(can), which literally said, «$.99» on it and they charged me $ 1.25 for it. Wtf.

I love this place. It is very reasonable, based upon how much food you get. it is extremely tasty and the vegetables are always crunchy. Positives: price, quick, limited menu Cons: nothing

One of my go-tos for a quick, healthy(for fast food) meal. This location is always super on point, which is essential.

The Flame Broiler is one of my favorite stops for a quick lunch before heading back to the grind. There are several locations throughout San Diego and I am pretty sure this is probably one of the busiest ones as its located right in the center area of Sorrento Valley where the lunch crowd must be massive. This Flame Broiler has limited inside seating with most of it being the outside tables. The kitchen is open to see unlike the other ones I’ve been to, so you can see them cooking up your food fresh as you order it. The sauces are the same except here they don’t provide any fresh jalapenos like a lot of the other ones do. The biggest change I’ve noticed is they started using larger bowls( ) to put your food in, it almost seems like they got cheap and started giving you less food but they just started using a larger container. This was a damn good idea because it was almost impossible to eat out of the smaller ones before, you would almost drop food off the side trying to mix up your veggies and chicken with the rice. If you’re looking for the real hot sauce stuff(like I always use) they keep the green stuff in the back of the store instead of the front. Other than that, its taste just like the other locations. The parking lot can get a bit tricky around lunch time, so come early.

I ordered the half and half. The meat was good. For the price the amount of food was lacking. The bowl is only filled 2⁄3 full.

I LOVE this place. I try to take my lunch to work and avoid eating«fast food» but this is my go to spot when I don’t bring my lunch. It isn’t your typical fast food. I am also picky about chicken(or meat in general). If there is any fat or gristle I WON’T eat it, but here I just order the white meat chicken and I don’t have to worry about it. I actually have cravings for this place. The staff is always nice and service is quick. I wish there was one close to my house for the nights I am too tired to cook.

Honestly, I love flame broiler so much. But when I walk in and the workers take 5 minutes to finish their texts before speaking to me it throws up a red flag. It took them about 30 seconds to give me my beef bowl, which pleased me at the time. But when I got home and opened the bowl it had maybe a dozen tiny cold pieces of meat and 95% rice, I realized the workers probably just threw whatever meat was left over from the last person into a bowl and had me pay $ 8 for it. New staff please.

Fast, fresh, inexpensive, options for brown rice, and chicken breast protein. The price is hard to beat but the other vendors in the food court have rice bowls too. There have been some staff changes for the better and this place is back at the top of my list. Thank You.

I originally planned to go to the food court next door to Flame Broiler for Thai Food but everything was closed by 3pm when the sign said 9pm. But if it wasn’t for that, I would have never tried this place! I ordered the Chicken Veggie bowl($ 6.40) which is half a bowl of rice and half a bowl of veggies with chicken. The chicken was really good! Nicely marinated and cooked. I decided to try my meal with the sauces that were provided, which was the hot sauce and the«magic sauce.» I asked the worker what the«magic sauce» was and he specifically said it was teriyaki sauce with a hint of magic(whatever that means! Lol). Nonetheless, the sauce is great! I recommend dipping the meat into the hot sauce and then the magic sauce. I think the hot sauce is a bit sour so the sweetness of the magic sauce compliments the hot sauce really well. I also love the choice of having brown or white rice! The menu is pretty small and simple. Just rice, meat, veggies served in a bowl or plate but it’s delicious and healthy, I’d say!

Just had to review Flame Broiler because I don’t understand why everyone around me is so in love with it. The price is fine. The food is decent. But that’s just about it. Flame Broiler is healthier than most fast casual spots, but the food quality is Panda Express. Bleh. Not exciting. This specific location is great because they’re super fast and know what they’re doing. But again, very mediocre taste-wise.

Had lunch here today, ordered the Chicken/Veggie bowl without onions and a drink. Total came to $ 7.11 which is pretty reasonable for the food. The bowl was a good size and had tons of chicken and veggies in it. I ordered the brown rice which was excellent. The veggies were broccoli, sliced carrot and cabbage and the bowl had nice big pieces of each in it as well as plenty of chopped up chicken. The sauce was also very good, I think it was teriyaki or soy sauce. Very good place for lunch and I’ll definitely be back.

Sweet tasting deliciousness. Almost every time I forget my lunch, I’m here. I love the fresh simplistic taste. Would definitely recommend. My order: chicken mini w/veggies & onions or the works mini w/veggies & onions.

The Flame Broiler provides a cool approach to food that is served fast and healthy for today’s busy people that is well priced. I had the large combo bowl with chicken, beef, vegetables, and brown rice for well under $ 7.( ) I was able to get extra vegetables with a reduction of brown rice served. The bowl was good. I was especially fond of the chicken because it had a great color, it was tender, and it had great flavor. It’s flavor was a little sweet.( ) The beef on the other hand, tasted good, but it was a little chewy and dry.( ). The vegetables were very good. They were fresh, tender, and nicely seasoned.( ) I enjoyed the brown rice. It was a little sticky, but it was cooked well and had good flavor.( ). The garnish of chopped scallions were a nice touch. The place is very small inside with a few seats, but there is plenty of seating outside. The service was good enough, or just uneventful, but good.

I can’t figure out why I’ve never had this combination of food before, but ever since my experience at The Flame Broiler, I’ve been craving rice, beef and freshly steamed broccoli. The meat is pretty damn good for a fast food place. And the prices are extremely fair. I usually get the smaller bowl version, but I like that there is an option for a larger one if that’s what you’re going for. Of course if TFB isn’t what you want, there are 15 other places to try in the same shopping center.

When I brought Kathy to San Diego a few weeks back, we had lunch at this Flame Broiler location at the Sorrento Valley Food Court. I ordered the Works Bowl, and Kat had the Half & Half Bowl. We both liked our orders; the beef and chicken were juicy and quite tasty, and with the brown rice, our bowls were even healthier. Too bad the place is a bit cramped — while we could’ve gone to the outdoor seating, it was a bit chilly that day.

Pros: Fast service. Good food. Healthier dining than some other places. Delicious orange half with combo plate order. Cons: Lack of variety. Crowded at times(lunch).
