While visiting San Diego, I had to get my boba fix. I ended up coming to Trinitea and it did not disappoint! The parking was a little difficult but it wasn’t too bad. The place wasn’t packed. Walked right up to the counter and ordered a milk tea with boba. I liked that this place allowed you to try your drink to make sure it’s what you wanted. Also really enjoyed how soft their tapioca was. If I’m ever back visiting the area I’d definitely come back.

An adorable boba shop in Hillcrest, this is one of the few places I’ve been that uses actual tea, instead of the powdered monstrosities other shops call boba tea. The jasmine green milk tea was delicious and refreshing, exactly what I needed on such a hot day. They also have board games customers can play with their. The space is also very spacious with minimal seating in the middle of the store. Helpful for crowded nights. No credit card minimum= bonus! Don’t forget to check in on Unilocal to get 10% off your order!

I usually try to avoid boba… but I simply couldn’t resists as I read thru the Unilocal reviews. After checking in for 10% off my order, I ordered what Unilocalers raved about — Jasmine Milk Green Tea with Honey boba. Simple and refreshing which was the pick-me-up I needed after landing from my morning flight.

Really enjoyed this place. Ended up here unexpectedly. I was craving boba and saw this place was nearby so I stopped by. Near grossmont college so it’s got that college cool place to study or hang out feel. I went at night and it was very quiet and nice to go and talk or play board games. I had a strawberry and pineapple smoothie with boba, and it was AMAZING! The best smoothie I’ve had in a while :) I really recommend this place.

My first visit to SD and I saw this place won an award for Best Boba in SD. So naturally as a boba enthusiast I had to try it. Service: The cashier was nice at first, but then I think he got a little annoyed with me when I asked for no sugar in my drink. He stated that the drink couldn’t be made with no sugar. So then I asked for as less sugary as you can make it. He didn’t give me an attitude to anything, but I could see the change from an friendly appearance to an annoyed one. Drinks: Charcoal Roasted Oolong Milk Tea — Absolutely delicious! It really did have a smokey flavor to it and it really gave it that unique spark. I never tasted anything like it before. Absolute must try! Mango Black Tea — I wasn’t too excited about this one as the oolong milk tea. They used syrup for this drink and it really showed through. The syrup was tart and just wasn’t what I was expecting. It tasted like unripe mango syrup… is that such a thing? Boba — the boba itself was soft and chewy. Nothing out of the ordinary, but definitely to the standard of other places. Overall: I would recommend this place with a little bit of hesitation.

My good friend Annie L. introduced me to this milk tea place a few months ago, and I’ve been a fan since. Loose-leaf teas that are thoroughly brewed for optimal flavor, throw in some steamed milk and you’re all set! I usually order a hot royal milk tea with a quarter sugar and 2% milk. I like that they don’t use creamer, so at least I’m getting some protein in, right? They also have milk substitutions for a minimal charge, and don’t charge extra for hot drinks, which is great on my wallet during the winter months or late evenings. There’s a drink to suit all taste buds and you’ll get 10% off with every Unilocal check-in and a stamp on their frequent visitor card. Diglett dig diglett dig, trio trio trio — Pokemon stamp cards are the best! As for the ambiance, there’s plenty of seating, with couches and tables are always clean and not falling apart(e.g. Tea n More). The staff are friendly and can make suggestions as needed, and you’re not obligated to buy a drink if you’re just hanging out with your friends. Parking is scarce here, since it’s right off 5th and University, but I usually go here after dining at Oscar’s anyway.

I came in today for the first time. And I have been craving bobas for such a long time. Just saying they should have a green tea smoothie boba I would come here all the time. I got the strawberry smoothie boba its so delicious! I was a little sad about their quarter size macaron for 2 for 3 dollars. It was a little pricey but I still wanted to try it out. Its pretty good. I’d come back if I was in the area

Great tea. Calm little place. Spacious yet cozy. Recommend the Boba, Thai tea or just a nice peppermint if it’s cold outside :)

Came here for a quick stop because I saw it the night before on the way to Chocolat. Got the winter melon almond milk tea with honey boba. It’s pretty good; not too sweet. Going to go back to try the other drinks. They have slushies and seasonal drinks(i.e. Pumpkin). They sound interesting but only one drink per visit for me. So I’ll be updating this review later on. ~~~~~ I went back to get the Caramel Apple Snow. Liked the combo. The artificial flavoring was expected. What was unexpected was the body chill. I forgot it would be chilly at night now in SD. I was shivering by the time I finished my drink.

Trinitea owner and staff, if you are missing a cap off one of your blenders or machines, I have it. You left it in my drink!

I think boba’s life, tbh. & I work on Washington St. So for this place to be conveniently located near my job, I LOVE because there are no other places near by that have boba! :’( The cashier didn’t seem to be having a good day & my iced mocha needed to be sweetened, when I got to work I added vanilla creamer… But Boba’s life. & I had my fix :-)

I was in the area and wanted some boba. After scanning the place, I knew that the boba wasn’t something I’d enjoy.(I don’t drink milk based boba). So instead, I opted for a hot tea. I ordered a hot Dragon Well Green Tea with honey. Delish! Tip: They use one ounce standard of honey(think one jigger’s worth. This is too much for me– I would order half, but I don’t like things that sweet.)

Delicious, quality drinks! My boyfriend & I found this gem after cruising through Hillcrest. They do not have a parking lot but there is metered parking & small paid parking lots close by. Staff was friendly & we ordered: Jasmine Milk Green Tea with Honey Boba — De-licius! A must order! Mango Green Tea with Honey Boba — So yummy! What I love about their drinks is that it is made from real tea leaves & not syrup or powder! You have the option of making your drink sweeter or less sweeter. You can definitely taste the quality of their drinks. Also, their boba is chewy & sweet! Unforunately, there is no AC in there which made us want to leave. I was bummed because they have board games I wanted to play.

Solid drinks here, has the feel of Ten Ren’s Tea Time, which means that the drinks will taste like authentic milk tea and you can adjust the sweetness level. There is plenty of seating and it wasn’t busy at all when we went. I was visiting San Diego and was in the Hillcrest area. I didn’t feel like ice cream for dessert, so I decided to check this place out. Definitely would come back if I’m in the area again! Love the name too! Trinitea Tea… Sounds biblical!

On the last day of our vacation, my group wanted to try some of the infamous California boba before we headed back. A quick search on Unilocal pointed us toward the nearest location which was in a little shopping district less than 10 miles from Little Italy where we had some phenomenal ice cream. Parking was a little difficult to find and eventually we parked at the Rite-Aid down the street for 3 or 4 dollars. After trying taro boba at Oasis Tea in Seattle, I was dying to try it again but was slightly disappointed. The staff was friendly and it seemed like a great place to hangout; however, compared to other great boba places in Cali and out of state, I couldn’t give this place more than three stars. The décor was nice, but overall, an average boba shop that didn’t impress me enough to warrant a trip back. The opinion of our group was that if we were driving through again, we would probably stop by if we were really craving some boba. It felt like more of local place to drink instead of a tourist destination.

Just your average tea joint but it’s located in a diverse neighborhood with lots of other things to do. I happened to drop in while waited for a spot to open at Snooze, which is just down the street. The lady behind the counter was nice and her suggestions on tea drinks were helpful. I opted for the iced lychee black tea. It was a tad too sweet for me, should have asked for it lightly sweetened but I didn’t expect it to be so sweet. Despite the sweetness, the drink was refreshing. All in all, this is a spacious shop with countless tea drinks. Cool location for hanging out with a group of friends.

Came here recently, I thought I checked in, but guess I missed it or forgot. This place is really cool, located on 5th in Hillcrest across the street from Chocolat. I was feeling like I needed a caffeine boost and didn’t think tea would be strong enough. Luckily they serve coffee as well. I felt like having Vietnamese style ice coffee and was surprised when the server said he could actually make it for me. I don’t recall seeing it on the menu, but thought it was cool he could make it. After serving it he asked me if it was good(he was willing to remake it if it wasn’t) and it was spot on. This place is a decent size and décor is nice. There are impression style paintings hanging all around which are beautiful. There was music playing(slow rock) but it wasn’t overbearing or annoying. They have a bunch of tables, a few comfy leather style seats, and games! Connect four, jenga, cards, board games, puzzles and more. Stayed here a while enjoying my drink and playing games with my love. Got in a few epic Connect 4 and Jenga game battles. Nice tea lounge with good drinks and very good service. I’m a big fan… plan on coming here more often. Cool things: 1) Boba Fett sign out front(I’m a nerd) 2) Dog treats(how cool is that?) 3) Games(I’m a big kid) 4) Cool décor(Impressionistic paintings) and 5) they made me my drink!

So I’m hooked on the Iced Jasmine Milk green tea with honey Boba. So much that I have to evade my eyes when I walk by so I won’t tempt myself on getting one everyday. It’s $ 3.99 for a Venti and I’m sure a lot of calories. I’ve told several of my friends about this place. I’m all you can taste all the favors coming through on their own. The green tea, the jasmine and the honey. Lots and lots of room to chill out and do work on your laptop. Bathroom available for patrons. The tea people are really cool and seem to know their stuff. They also have baked goods and sandwiches in the case. I’m dying to try the Taro Ice Slush, it’s on my list todo this weekend. Protip: They offer a frequent customer card so you best get yours Gurl

This is the same place they have in San Carlos. But the service here treated me a lot better than in San Carlos. We came on a night they had a local singer come in, which I thought was pretty entertaining. This establishment is WAY bigger than the one in San Carlos and is very locally convenient on 5th Ave in Hillcrest. Honestly Trinitea Tea has one of the best boba’s in San Diego, hands down. Can you guys also offer the same« Unilocal check-in» here as in San Carlos!!!
