I needed to find a new dry cleaner shop, as the one I went to for years finally hung its final hanger. I decided to look for one that is close to my workplace and University Cleaners was first on the list. Prior to visiting the establishment, I read all the current reviews. Because there were a mix of good and bad reviews, I had to go try it for myself. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by an Oriental lady. I was expecting her to be rude based on the previous Unilocal comments, but instead, she asked how I was doing that day? She even threw in a little humor about the weather and we both ended up chuckling. I brought in my newest pair of black jeans, so I knew that it would be a good test to determine if their services were decent enough to come back. I paid upfront and realized the price was inexpensive with our without the advertised deal. I remember paying about $ 0.50 more at my old cleaners and that was with coupons. The duration of service was normal, 2 – 3 days, and I mentioned to her that I would only be available next week to pick them up and she responded happily with a joke. I didn’t really understand what she meant at that moment, but I was already in a good mood cause it was almost time for lunch, so I responded with laughter. I returned Monday morning and I was greeted by an Oriental man. I was greeted but I didn’t get a joke this time. I didn’t mind too much cause I knew it was a Monday. I did see the lady who helped me, who was busy in the back working on something so I knew they were starting the grind of the work week and I went on my way. I’ve rated this establishment with 4 stars not only because I had a good experience, but because I expected what I paid for. I’ve had both experiences from inexpensive to pricey dry cleaners and it goes back to, «you get what you pay for.» My black jeans looked cleaned and pressed. They weren’t as perfect as when I first bought them, but definitely preserved the life of them with the dry clean. I have become a fan and will be coming back. I recommended bringing in your daily wear if you are worried about getting your stuff ruined. If you have really expensive pieces of clothing, then I would probably recommended elsewhere. No matter where you take your clothes for dry clean, its like doing your own laundry, you’ll never know if your clothes will come out of the washer & dryer damaged-free.

No, no, no. I didn’t look up the Unilocal reviews because I wanted a dry cleaners fast and cheap and saw their banner for cheap dry cleaning hanging outside their shop. The ladies were rude and they didn’t even press my shirts and cleaned my shirts so I asked them to do it again. They said that I was expecting too much and that they couldn’t get all of the wrinkles out and it was unrealistic to get the stains out. They eventually agreed to doing it again and the wrinkles came out but not my stains. I am pretty sure the stains can come out because when I went home and used a Tide to-go pen, my stains came out which means they didn’t even try. Please don’t waste your money and spend the extra money somewhere better.

don’t go here, there’s a reason why cleaning is so cheap. they don’t press the clothes after they clean them, it’s too expensive for them i guess. i dropped off 10 regular cotton dress shirts for laundry that came back wrinkled and unwearable. they explained that they don’t press shirts and offer no refunds. i was out my cash and had to take the shirts to another cleaner and start over.

Brought my sports jacket to University Cleaners to get a stain out of the lapel. While the stain is gone, they ruined the whole lapel. Now they aren’t accepting responsibility. Take your garments here at your own risk.

The advertise $ 1.25 for shirts of 10 or more, but won’t take all shirts at that price. They don’t say which shirts they take at that price either. It’s a sham to get you in the store. Not only that, but what establishment in 2015 won’t take a debit card? This one.

Fantastic Dry Cleaning establishment. I had been paying $ 5 – 6 an item for years and have since used University Cleaners 3 x’s now and my clothes come back cleaned and pressed. Women’s dress shirts are normally charged as a blouse. I bring 5 shirts or blouses here plus 5 pairs of pants for $ 17.50. You can have any combination of garments though so long as it equals 10. Suit jackets are only $ 3.25. I found this place one day when a friend wanted to go to Wing Stop for lunch. Wing Stop is next door. Only down side is usual turn around time is 3 days. I have found the ladies there to be pleasant. If you don’t want to spend $ 100/mo on dry cleaning this place is a solid find.

The coupon says 10 or more $ 1.25 for«shirts.» I brought in 31 polo shirts and these people wouldn’t honor the deal! They claimed that its more expensive for them to dry clean a polo than to dry clean a nice dress shirt. She also stated that it’s too cheap. Guess what University Cleaners… you placed the ad, not me. If you think it’s «too cheap» then you shouldn’t have placed the ad. I agree with the comments that the lady was rude. The ad is very clear. It says«shirts,» not button up mens dress shirts! Last time I checked a cotton polo is a «shirt.» What a terrible experience with a company that won’t honor coupons posted on its own website.

I called to get a price to dry-clean my down comforter. The gal said«no, you don’t dry clean a down comforter… do it yourself for about $ 5 in a commercial size washer, luke warm or cold water, remove, and shake or fluff and then to the dryer in hi heat dry setting with 3 or 4 dryer sheets… save yourself some money; it could be as much as $ 27 to clean it» I have already given mister jays $ 30 on this comforter, $ 20 to a place in Huntington Beach. But I assure you, I will never pay anyone again for this. THANKYOU University Cleaners. I liked the way you have done my clothes, but this tip is awesome :))
