Urban Roots Community Salon & Boutique

Nicole did a fantastic on my keratin treatment. My hair is a tad bit dry to start so I think I should see more improvement on my upcoming keratin treatment.
I found her on instagram and she had a good special going on for lengthy hair. $ 149 for keratin treatment. The process was easy and painless, there was one point during the process where the scent was too strong for me but she suggested for me to just close my eyes which made the fumes more managable.
Would I be coming back here again? The price was great and the customer service was awesome so absolutely!
Keep in mind, parking can be a little bit of a struggle.

Yuki has cut and colored my hair for years for good reason. She is amazing! I first visited her on a recommendation from a friend and have been nothing but happy since. She does a wonderful job meeting my picky specifications about my highlights and always gives me a flattering cut that I love. I totally recommend her!

I love this place! Ever since I was introduced to Yuki in 2012, she’s the only one I let touch my hair! I can give her a ballpark of what I’m looking to do with my hair, and let her go from there — I fully trust her judgement! I always leave with the perfect cut and/​or color, and have never once been even a little disappointed.
The salon is super cute and makes you feel right at home; everyone who works there is so friendly and nice; and I don’t have to spend an arm and a leg for a cut and color.
I tell all my friends to go see Yuki when they need their hair done — she’s just the best! :)

I discovered Anthony Blanchard this past summer and have been happy with my hair ever since. I always look forward to my visits to Urban Roots. On top of being a great stylist, Anthony is just wonderful to talk to and makes you feel very comfortable. He’s very patient and takes the time to make sure you get exactly the look you want. I plan on sticking with Anthony as long as I live in San Diego!

LOVE Anthony Blanchard and his new Urban Roots Salon! I discovered Anthony about 8 months ago when I moved to University Heights and needed a new stylist in the area. He is wonderful at listening, suggesting and educating his clients. He always applies my color painstakingly, and the results are fantastic. His haircuts are equally as precise. The added bonus is that Anthony, and his wife, Pelita, who helps run the salon, are the NICEST people. They are very community minded, generous spirits. There is no «attitude» in this salon other than an attitude of comfortable friendliness. That welcoming feeling mixed with a talented stylist makes this salon an easy choice. I highly recommend!

My family and I moved from NJ to San Diego 18 months ago and I was looking for hair stylist for for my 17 years old model son for almost 6 months. We tried numerous very prestige hair salons in San Diego and I can not even count how much money I wasted. I found Anthony Blanchard almost a year ago and its not even one day that I don’t bless him for his amazing work. He is a true professional, dedicated and passion for his profession. He spends an hour and some time even more than hour for my son’s hair (in other places I don’t remember more than 20 min anybody ever spent on him), and we leave the place extremely happy all the time. This new place «Urban Roots Community Salon & Boutique» is a really family place, you just want to go there to just hang out, its so homey: warm, welcoming and cozy. Anthony and his sweetest wife Pilita are very friendly and I highly recommend this place from the bottom of my heart.

I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful of an experience I had.
The second I knew I was going to be well taken care of was when the owner came outside of the salon in order to help me find their exact location. I stepped inside and was greeted with the warmest smile by Anthony’s wife. Anthony and his wife took care of me from the moment I was in their salon. He will sit down before he begins to cut and style your hair and discusses with you what you expect to see, as well as what he thinks will look best; and let me tell you, I walked out being more in love with my hair than I ever have been before. You can see the passion that Anthony has for what he does, and this is apparent because the satisfaction that you leave with is indescribable.
«Your home away from home» is the best way I can describe the environment of this salon. I was asked a couple of times whether or not I wanted anything to drink or if I was doing okay. Anthony and his wife made me feel as if I had known them for years with the way conversation kept flowing.
I know just how important hair is, and if you don’t believe that I had a five star experience, please go experience it yourself! You will not regret choosing Anthony and Urban Roots Community Salon and Boutique as your permanent salon, because the experience is so authentic and organic. As cliché as it sounds, you really are in good hands from the moment you step foot in the salon!
