great new place. stopped by after skating at kroc ice rink. good service. i got salt and pepper shrimp and kung pao beef to go. the shrimp smelled so good i had to open it in the car and eat it. what a blissful drive home, if only could have enjoyed some alcohol with the delicious fried shrimp. the kung pao beef was also good. looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes from the Unilocal pictures.

This is now my go-to place for fast Asian. Notice: I said Asian, not Chinese or Japanese cause they are a bit fusion. Most of the dishes are Chinese, but they also have ramen(and it is pretty good), and their Wei Wei signature dish has fresh basil leaves Thai-style. When you walk in you will notice they don’t have food sitting on a steam table like Panda Express. Don’t worry, these guys are hard workers and will get your order made pronto. Yes, food is made to order here. If you are in a hurry take advantage of their online ordering; I have yet to arrive and not had my order ready and waiting. I have also picked up online orders in the last half hour before they close and not gotten any attitude. They seem to really appreciate their customers here. So far, I have tried the Wei Wei chicken, crispy beef, honey walnut shrimp, tonkotsu ramen, and kung poa chicken, cream cheese wontons, egg rolls, and veggie fried rice. Been there more times than that might suggest, but I have gotten a few repeats. Only minor complaint: The egg rolls have lumpia wrappers. You know, they are smooth like lumpia and don’t have the bumpy texture and larger size of an egg roll. If you get the lunch combo it is served in one of those three section styrofoam containers like Panda Express uses, but unlike Panda, they fill the large section with your entrée and put the rice and sides in the small ones. It is about the perfect amount of food for lunch, enough to fill me up but without any leftovers to throw away when I am going back to work and won’t have anyplace to store food. The full-sized entrée orders come with rice(steamed, fried, or brown) are enough that three of them can be shared family-style by four people.

For the past twenty years i drove 50 miles round trip to get my salt and pepper wings. Not anymore! These crispy garlic chive covered goodness hit the spot. Hands down best wings in town. Service was excellent. Guys are very friendly.

This was our first time trying this place and come to find out it only opened about three months ago. We ordered the Kung pao chicken, lemon chicken, and honey walnut shrimp. The service was awesome. The guys there were very friendly. The food is soooooo good. Everything was fresh, hot and full of flavor. The Kung pao chicken was spicy, but not overpowering. The shrimp were large and delicious, the lemon chicken was not over breaded and was juicy and tender. I loved that the food was made with all white meat chicken and there was no gristle. And they deliver! We will definitely be return customers. Thanks!

My wife and I love Chinese food but never get to eat it because we eat it with the taste of our children’s tears and whines. However, this place made food that only made my kids complain slightly — a huge feat indeed. That’s enough for five starts for me, also, great presentation and English-speaking staff. Kudos

Very good and fast option for chinese grub. Wings were crunchy but missing a little seasoning. Lemon chicken is probably the best I’ve had in a long time and it had real meat in it, not just batter lol. Wei Wei shrimp had good flavor but it was all onions. Would have been better if it had some broccoli or anything else beside onions.

I almost didn’t review this place… because I don’t want it to get so popular. that I can’t ever get my food. THISPLACEISTHEBOMB! I am hella picky about my Chinese food and San Diego is not known for it either. I am used to being underwhelmed and this place BLEWMEAWAY. Literally. I cannot stop thinking about it since I went here.(fat girl for life) You can order your food online! SAYYYYYWHAT. you wanna make it even easier to stuff my face?! I am so all about it you don’t even know! The string bean beef is SMACKIN. I will be back once a week for that bad boy. The orange chicken was fresh tasting… like you could taste fresh orange in it. not saying they fresh squeeze their orange sauce. but they do something magical. I ordered the wings which were light, crispy and the perfect balance of spicy and salty. My shrimp and broccoli I want light and tender. The broccoli was cooked to perfection. Which. is not easy to do… many places serve mushy broccoli. The guys in there are sweet and attentive to your needs. It doesn’t get better than this in SD people. LISTENTOME. I am probably going back tonight to try the chow mien and kung pao. I live down the street. We are basically neighbors. Get used to this face.(:

I really like this place. The food tastes and smells more authentic than some place like Panda Express. Good selection and it really doesn’t disappoint. Just wish it had a little something to make it more spectacular. The setting is a little sparse, although that could be a consequence of being tucked inside a rather large strip mall.

We came in after reading some awesome Unilocal reviews and glad we did. We were greeted right away and the people working here were really nice throughout our visit. The food was made fresh and tasted great. My boyfriend and I ordered the wontons, gyoza, honey walnut shrimp, coffee boboa, and sweet and sour chicken. Our food tasted fresh and was hot. It was nice to see that they make a hole in some of their boxes so that your appetizers don’t get wet on the way home. Our friends ordered wings, lemon chicken, chow mein, and other items. They enjoyed their choices as well. Parking can be a bit of an adventure because the parking area is small and shares with a bunch of other shops. I would recommend coming in and giving this place a try. The people are friendly and the food is good!

The ONLY reason this place does not get only 1 star is due to the great customer service that I received here. This place gave me a weird vibe once I turned onto the street and then turned into the shopping center. There is nothing fancy or appealing about this shopping center, and if I wasn’t starving, I would’ve drove away. It’s dirty, empty, plain, and dead. I ordered the string bean beef and my friend ordered the orange chicken, both lunch specials, and edamame. The portions are fine, but I wish they weren’t. The orange chicken tasted like fake chicken and had way too much orange sauce on it. The string bean beef was way too oily and I felt like I was eating solidified grease. Even the edamame wasn’t boiled enough. The egg roll that comes with the lunch special tasted like it was drenched and marinated in vinegar overnight. Directly after eating here, I was going to give this place a 3-star rating, but later on both me and my friend felt really sick and couldn’t eat the rest of the day. This place is small and the vide is very weird. It made me feel awkward and uncomfortable. I definitely will not come back to this place and it is «WEIWEI» off my radar!

This place offers an easy menu with quick service. I stopped in for a quick dinner after work and ordered six salt, pepper, and chili garlic wings for $ 4.99 and since they do not carry the wide noodles, a chicken teriyaki bowl with white rice and vegetables for $ 5.99. The wings came with a great batter and crunchy exterior. They also came heavily garnished in chopped garlic, scallions, and chili peppers. I really liked the crunchy batter, but the chicken inside was a little dry. As I observed, I noticed they used precooked and battered chicken wings right out of the fridge and into the fryer, which would account for the drier chicken meat, given you are basically cooking it twice. Nevertheless, the wings were still quite good and their seasoning was on point. The chicken teriyaki bowl came with a generous amount of ingredients. The chicken was mostly all white meat, came with a tasty teriyaki sauce, and was tender. The vegetables were nicely done and well steamed to cook them but still have a slight crunch. They were very lightly seasoned and went well with the sauce on the chicken. The white rice was steaming hot underneath and tasted good. I actually ate most of the rice with the garnish from the wings and some Sriracha. Service was friendly and quick.

Wow!!! This place makes me love and appreciate food! After many Unilocal friends stopped in I knew I had to visit! So thankful for the other pictures and reviews! I hope this place keeps 5 stars forever! We ordered kung pao chicken, sweet and sour chicken, salt and pepper wings and pork potstickers. The portions are huge! The chicken is all white meat! One potsticker was 4 bites! Sweet and sour chicken was probably my favorite! The chicken was unbelievably tender and the breading was perfectly crisp. The potstickers were obviously homemade and so delicious! I’ve never seen a dumpling so fat! Now let’s talk about the employees… fantastic! It was a large group of guys 25 – 30 in age and obviously having fun! The music was blasting and everyone was smiling! We ate our food there and they brought out everything as it was done. Since this is kind of a «to go» restaurant they didn’t have to do that but it was much appreciated! For $ 32 we got a table full of food and enough for 3 more meals! This will be our new spot for sure!

Their Wei Wei combination both fried rice and chow mien were excellent. So far I’ve tried about 6 of their dishes and I haven’t been disappointed yet. Best express on the block. If not several

Food is good. Ambiance is nice. Friendly staff. They were on top of my order and the huge big screen TV entertained me while I was waiting for my food. I like the location, right after a good workout I can eat some healthy Asian food with no msg. Who’s Wei Wei? I wanna meet him.
