The service was quick considering it’s a Friday during Lent. Almost everything is fried. The clam chowder, shrimp and fish were good but the fried oysters were not. Also ordered the zucchini and the breading came off as I tried to take them off the skewer they were on. The prices are decent and the food is acceptable. I may return next year during Lent if the sushi place next door doesn’t get it together.

We haven’t been here in awhile and found out that their are new owners. We ordered Fish n Chips & Jumbo Shrimp. Everything changed for the worst. VERYDISAPPOINTED! Let me start with the Fish– they were dry, burned & tasted horrible. they use be fluffy not no more. now the Jumbo Shrimp– LOL Jumbo yeah right they got smaller and they were burned. they use to be Large and Fluffy also. The Tartar Sauce change also not good anymore… The only thing that looked nice was the Tables. I was wondering why their wasnt that many people there on Good Friday. and before the line would be out the door. This probably why .Get it together people!!!

They would have gotten a 5 star cause they have been here for a long time and used to do more then 1 coupon, But new owner… Pass on Fried zucchini they are too greasy and small and no ranch. Farmer boys fried zucchini are the best. I guess not happy.

First time at this H Salt. For a Friday night it wasn’t too busy at all. I waited a total of maybe 10 minutes for my food. I would say that’s pretty darn good. I’ve waited longer for sub par food at other places. The staff was very friendly and the portion sizes are decent. I wasn’t expecting such large pieces of fish and definitely ordered bigger meals than we needed. For what I got I would say the price was pretty good. Under $ 20 for two 3 piece meals. I took off a star for parking as it is a very difficult parking lot. All in all a good experience with some good fish and chips! We will be back.

My first time trying an H. Salt, and they had me HOOKED. Oh my this place is song delicious. They don’t have the nasty oil or old fish smell some places have. The wait time is not too bad compared to what I have been through in some fast food drive-thrus. Loved the mixed combo I got last time. Will definitely be returning to this place again.

I’m giving 4 stars for their food! Fish and Chips were EXCELLENT! We dined in, which we were lucky lucky enough to get a table(only 3 available) Parking 1 star The fish measured up to what my granny would make from home. The malt vinegar a win win We’ll definitely be back!

This H. Salt branch, my friends, is stellar. The staff is courteous, easy going, and kind. Place is clean, fish and chips come out piping hot. A small eating area, with old-style H. Salt décor, but that is part of the charm. The fish is cooked well, light, and just right. And the price is right and reasonable. I hope they maintain their high standards.

I am a Brit, and I can honestly say these are the worst fish and chips I have ever tasted, and an insult to this British culinary tradition. Both the fish and chips were tasteless — you can get better in your grocery stores frozen aisle. The elongated rectangle of battered fish, quite clearly was unfresh and mass processed. The container it came in would probably have tasted better. Lousy with a capital ‘L’

The staff is friendly and the fish is awsome, I can’t wait to have lunch. Just prepair yourself for the wait if your ordering a large meal.

It’s ok. I’ve been coming here since I was a child. Greasy fish and chips coupled with slow service. I will say I’ve never gotten cold food here which is always a plus. I recommend not coming here on a busy night(fri or sat) you may end up waiting for over an hour for your food.

Been coming here since I was a kid during lent. I was there on Ash Wednesday, placed order, got receipt and number tag. They called my number, and asked to see the tag even though I was the only customer in the place. I thought that was funny. Other than that, the London Special is good. Even though I don’t use it, I think they charge extra for malt vinegar.

Little shop is nice, parking sucks big time. Fish took a little bit to make, but it is fish. The food didn’t really feel greasy like other places. When I received it the food was good, well cooked.

Really small and stuffy place, but great authentic fish and chips! I first tried fish and chips about 2 years ago out of curiosity and have been a fan ever since. This place really knows how to fry it to perfection and the fries are also perfectly seasoned. They also have some pretty tasty fish tacos, and offer you the choice of ketchup or vinegar for your fish. They offer both fried fish or shrimp in different combos, and both are pretty damn good. However, be warned, if you are not into seriously oily fried fish(in which case you shouldn’t be eating fish and chips in the first place), than this place is not for you. Aside from that, the restaurant in really small with only 3 booths I believe and could get pretty damn hot during warm weather. The service is always handled with a smile, but the wait could range from not too bad, to a pretty long time. Add to that the rush hour during lunch break, and you will definitely have to dedicate time into waiting. The prices are also a bit steep for the meals, but if you’re a fan of fish and chips, and don’t want to bust a mission driving, then you know this is best/nearest place in San Fernando(as far as I know at least).

Came here on Saturday, because I had beer at home and felt fish and chips would make a great pairing. Thia location is small, it has 3 booths, which worked for me because I was planning on taking it home. I went with the 2 fish 2 jumbo shrimp and chip meal for a little over $ 9 and got a tiny side of coleslaw for a little over $ 1. The place does nickel and dime you on sides like vinegar and sides of tartar sauce according to the menu, but they give free packets of tartar sauce if you ask and vinegar. The foods was good freshly fried when we ordered it, nothing out of this world, but tasty and filling. I would describe the breaking tempura like. If I ever feel like fish and chips and don’t want to go out to a restaurant I would definitely come back.

I have tried H Salt Fish and Chips at another location and when I found one nearby I was ecstatic. The food was amazing as expected and the service was pretty good. They fry the fish and everything fresh right in front of you. The food was very flavourful. The only reason why I didn’t give it more stars was the cleanliness of the place. The tables were worn down quite a bit but it was not disgusting to sit at and trust me on that I’m kind of a clean freak.

Authentic fish & chips! Great customer service! A few years ago when I was pregnant, I was craving Fish and chips… and the Filet O fish at Mickey D’s was NOT hitting that spot, nor was Gordon’s from the freezer. So we drove around looking for Fish and chips in LA and stumbled upon this little hidden treasure. In an average looking strip mall, you will find a hidden treasure. The fish was flaky and G.B.D. or(Golden Brown & Delicious). It went so well with either the tartar sauce or the original malt vinegar. Nice thick chips that come to the table straight from the fryer that is built into the front counter, just like they have in England. Awesome homemade tartar sauce, and the fried zucchini as previously mentioned is soo soo good. My 18 month old who hates veggies gobbled two of them before she figure out it was a veggie so WIN for that Location and décor leave something to be desired… but if you’re looking for authentic fish & chips, this place hits the spot! Plus the couple that own the place are super friendly and remember me from when I was pregnant, and says hi to my daughter every time we make the drive into the valley for some golden fried goodness!

I enjoy this place for the fact that it’s the only local joint that sells some really good Fish & Chips. I always get myself the fish and shrimp combo, which includes chips(french fries), and fried zucchini. May I just say: The fried zucchini, is AWESOME. Nice, hot fried vegetables taste way better than raw! I love eating the shrimp with a small dose of fresh lemon. The chips are always fresh and hot. My only, honest complaint has to be the fish itself. I think they choose a nice choice of fish for their food. I find the problem lying in their breading. It’s weird to describe it. There is a crispy layer on the outside, but imagine underneath that crispy being a slightly chewy breading. It’s kind of like the crust on your sliced bread. Nonetheless, the fish tastes great with their housemade tartare sauce(which may I say, gets pricier every time, if you’re taking out), lemon, and malt vinegar. Very nice, authentic way to bring some tasty Fish & Chips here in San Fernando, since this area really needs better eating spots. So H. Salt, let me just say: Good show!
