We didn’t research this place, we just wandered around Little Italy for dinner because a lot of places were on a wait on a Friday night and this place had seating. We sat outside and the seating especially with the heater on was PERFECT. We had great service and they had gluten free pasta which was amazing for me(as I am gluten free), and it tasted great! The only comment we had that was semi negative was the portion of Brussels sprouts was pretty lame, there was like 6 on the plate.

Tiny place but big, delicious weekend breakfasts. We tried café breakfast, applewood bacon, crab cakes Benedict, chocolate chip pancakes, and chorizo breakfast pizza. Plenty of food for teenage boys and friendly service.

We came across this place since we were in a rush and the line for Mama’s was far too long and it turned out really well. We were seated immediately but the service was a little slow. Fortunately the food we ordered was worth a little wait. My wife ordered the eggs florentine and it was all very fresh and the hollandaise sauce was very creamy but not over done. The spinach could have been cooked a little longer for my liking but very minor change. The chorizo breakfast pizza was really good and something I would definitely order again. It had a little southwest flavor to it with the tomato and black bean and it all really worked together.

Very average experience. This café is in a nice spot, but the food’s pretty average. Not one person in my group today had anything to say about their food. You can do better in North Beach. Easily. I ordered the grilled chicken panini with a side salad. Both tasted bland. Chicken was a bit rubbery. Coupled with the extremely slow service, I’m just not raving about this place.

My GF and I have been sitting here for 30 minutes after ordering and still haven’t received our food. Figured I had time to write a review during my wait. The slowness is baffling as the two tables next to us who ordered AFTER us have received their food already. All we got was a BLT and an eggs benedict. I wish I could review it but I can’t because I don’t have my food.

DeLucchi is by far one of my favorite places to eat! The pasta is so fresh it tastes like the one my aunt from Italy makes for us! I’d go with the Italian food because that’s their strength, it’s super authentic, flavorful, and simply delicious!!!

The only thing saving this place was the service. The«caffe breakfast» was an unimpressive plate of chewy applewood sausage, flavorless eggs, and wonderbread with dairygold butter packets. My boyfriend had the huevos rancheros and even the sight of it made my stomach churn. A soupy lake of canned beans and undercooked eggs on a soggy tortilla. The food literally gave us both stomachaches. The chefs need to work a lot harder to keep this place in business.

Meh There are so many good choices for Italian food in North Beach. This is mediocre at best. I don’t have anything bad to say… just nothing good either. It’s totally forgettable. Had the pasta bolognese. Kid had the angel hair. Both were ok. Nothing to write home about. Nothing to even write on Unilocal.Outside seating is good for people watching… just like every other place on Columbus. They serve breakfast til 3pm. That’s a bonus, I suppose, if you had a late night the night before and need that bacon grease fix.

Cute little brunch spot in North Beach with some interesting menu selections. I couldn’t not order the Elvis sandwich — peanut butter, bacon, banana, and fig jam(it was pretty good, too). Portions are a little on the small side for the price. Their espresso maker was broken when we visited, which caused me no little sadness, but their regular coffee was good. It’s definitely a place I would go back to, but maybe not one I’d wait in line for.

A good spot to grab some Saturday or Sunday morning brunch. Located on a cute corner in North Beach — great place to sit on the patio and people watch. Both times I’ve been there I have ordered the Eggs Benedict… the first time it came with a side order of potatoes and the second it came with grits. I am not the hugest fan of grits, but it was definitely worth a try. Prices are typical in the area, as there are lots of tourist. Overall, I enjoy this spot because of the patio… mediocre eggs benedict though.

This Café is ideally located in North Beach and is colorfully/artfully decorated so that it is definitely one of a kind. There is usually a line, but on Sunday in the early afternoon, we only had to wait about 15 minutes. My daughter and I ordered two items and split both. The Insulate Spinaci was served warm but cooked perfectly to hit the peak of flavors in the spinach. With the bacon, tomatoes, candied pecans and goat cheese, there were plenty of tastes to experience. The Pulled Pork sandwich was amply loaded with very tender pork subtly seasoned and topped with cole slaw. Service was not quick, but we were visiting so the wait did not seem long. Although the windows looking out on Columbus usually light up the restaurant, it became quite hot inside sitting next to them. All in all a delightful experience.

Great location in North Beach. Average food. Some of these touristy spots in North Beach could do so much more with their location and hype. The Avacado Scramble lacked serious flavor. I rarely add ketchup to my food, but I felt that I needed to in order to eat it. Even though you can get a seat pretty quickly here, I’d rather wait in line to get a flavorful and memorable breakfast.

Not the best food and it took a long while to get our food. Also, the service wasn’t too great. The food did the job but if it was any other day and I wasn’t starving, this wouldn’t be my first choice. Cheers!

Good food and good service. I was glad that I stopped in. I had the rigatoni with sausage and the Mediterranean Pizza. Both were delicious. The only criticism rated with the pasta being undercooked. However, the flavor was spot on. I will definitely visit again when I’m in town.

Honestly expected a little more than we got. The café is in a great spot in North Beach and we are outside. The bustle of the street wasn’t a distraction at all. I got the Mediterranean Scramble. It was heavy on the vegetable to egg ratio which left a lot of messy uneatened onions and artichokes on my plate. The toast was also dry and not easy to chew. The potatoes were cooked perfectly. One if the best breakfast potatoes I’ve had in a while. M girlfriend had the crab cake Benedict which was decent. The crab cake might not be what you would get in the mid-Atlantic, but still tasty. Might come back but will start with other brunch spots in the area.

If there’s a word I can describe Caffe DeLucchi with, it would be ‘mediocrity’. There is complimentary bread but you have to ask your server for them. They won’t bring it to you unless you ask. Throughout the dinner, our server was also slow in refilling water and soda. Both times, I had to ask for a refill instead of getting offered one. My dining companion and I ordered the caesar salad, linguine vongole and spaghetti & meatballs. I was apathetic towards the salad. The two pastas also took 35 minutes to come out of the kitchen despite there only being two tabletops total in the restaurant. While the linguine was yummy, the spaghetti & meatballs came entrée came out lukewarm. I’ll be back and try their breakfast menu soon, but their dinner service is a pass for me tho!

Really delicious brunch, Good service, friendly people, pretty décor. I had the breakfast sandwich, and we also shared the Elvis! While in North Beach, bring a big appetite, and you’ll be pleased with the outcome. Try the polenta dishes, really tasty.

Cheers to management for hiring the prettiest girls in San Francisco. Unfortunately these girls aren’t trained. I watched a server tell an elderly woman, «excuse me» in a tone that actually translated to «MOVE. You’re in my way.» Every time we spoke, I felt like I was an interruption or an inconvenience to them. Shame. Potatoes and polenta were cold upon arrival… Not lukewarm. Cold. Coffee refills only come when requested. They tell you that cream is on the table? Let’s be honest, it’s Vitamin D milk. It’s not cream. And there are no offers: no offer of coffee, water, refills. You even have to ask for your check. The blueberry pancakes, however, are to die for!!! But how can you mess up pancakes? Currently this restaurant is third-string.

I stopped by on a Friday early afternoon after seeing this as one of the nearby spots with great ratings on my Unilocal app. I got a little lost, and ended up asking a local for recommendations. She, too, recommended this place and sent me on my way. I was traveling so I did have my backpack with me and probably had that lost tourist look on my face, but when I walked in, I wasn’t greeted. I had to awkwardly stand and wait for someone to address me. This took about 3 minutes. Eventually I was seated, but was not welcomed by the server or given a menu for another 5 minutes. The server was quiet, and short. It wasn’t very busy, about 8 tables for two servers, but somehow the servers did not seem able to keep up. Everything took an extreme amount of time, aside from the food. I ordered the spinach and ricotta ravioli with mushroom sauce at the suggestion of the server, which tasted phenomenal — would absolutely order it again and again. The service definitely left something to be desired. But the food was great. If I’m ever around, I might come back, but would prefer a faster service.

Delicious brunch in north beach… with NOWAIT! If we’re being honest, we tend to spend our Saturday and Sunday mornings waiting hours to get a table at that new brunch spot. It’s annoying and sometimesss you deserve to eat asap. My sister recommended this spot for brunch and two gfs and I came in on Sunday morning at 11:30 am and had no trouble grabbing a booth inside — start of a perfect brunch. Pros: +Delicious bellinis — definitely splurge on the carafe +The best chocolate chip pancakes I’ve had — gooey, eggy and huge quantities +Fast service +Lots of nice outdoor seating overlooking north beach Cons: +Skip the avocado omlette — basically ¼ of an avocado(seriously?) and very mediocre eggs Eh: +Poached eggs were just alright, nothing special Tips: +Order the mushroom spinach breakfast pizza with an egg on top — the table next to us was smart enough to get it and it looked amazing Verdict: I will be back!

Always down for some brunch and this brunch was amazing! 5 stars. First time coming here, of course weekend mornings are busy with brunch but the wait wasn’t that long. We were able to wait for about 10 minutes and got to sit outside. Good thing it was a beautiful day too. Started off with some drinks, I got the Sweet Tea and my friend got the Aranzita«Bloody Orange». Drinks came out pretty quick. And i ended up ordering the Mediterranean scramble with a side of bacon and English muffin and my friend got the Crab cake Benedict. Food was kind of a long wait but it was really worth it, great flavored, nice plating, TODIEFOR! This place I totally recommend for brunch and for dinner, I heard they have great salads! Yum yum!

I admit it: I’m skeptical about the profusion of apparently interchangeable Italian cafés that stretch along Columbus Avenue. But in pursuit of mother-daughter bonding, we had breakfast at Caffé DeLucchi, which turned out to be a tasteful(read: non-kitschy) room with good food and friendly service. And not the obvious breakfast menu, either! I had polenta with poached eggs and mushrooms: super tasty, though if I were a wiser woman I would have eaten only half of my enormous portion. Sweetie, being an actual human child and not an alien, adored her chocolate chip pancakes(which she couldn’t do justice to, either). A solid breakfast choice. It won’t change your life, but it’s a big step up from the plain olé diner breakfast.

I was really really uncomfortable this place. I was looking forward to have a good meal here but the service was beyond terrible. Here’s a snippet of my experience: *They didn’t bring the menu for 15min, when asking they flippantly said«don’t take a seat by yourself». We were seated by the staff *I tried to call the waiter because there was a bug in the tea, but was ignored by all the staff passing * They took my plate while I still had half my meal on it. There’s some more stuff that I disappointed about but I’ll try to keep it brief. The food was okay but their service was the worst I’ve ever seen. I’m sure I won’t be back.

Horrible service!!! Food mediocre. Ordered the calamari… have NEVER had BLAND calamari, but I did last night… Not breaded, which is fine, but it had NO flavor. Had to add lemon, salt and pepper! Who does that to calamari??? Our waiter was almost absent. Didn’t get bread until we asked for it, and that came after my fiancé was finished with his meal. Had to ask for the water bottle to be refilled. For such a small place you’d think they would turn the tables over quickly to make more money… guess they are not too business savvy. We will NOT be back or recommend this place to anyone. Hate to think that any tourist would think that is the way the restaurants in SF are like!

I have been to Caffe Delucchi for brunch twice over the past month or so. The first time was so good, I couldn’t resist round two. Both times, I opted for the artichoke hash benedict poached eggs over artichoke hash with sliced tomatoes, hollandaise sauce, polenta(not potatoes) and toast $ 11 Both times it was amazing! The menu is really innovative, with fun combinations that appeal to a broad range of palates. Moderate prices and attentive service are two other highlights. The décor is very cheerful and bright, with Joan Miro/Calder motifs throughout the interior and exterior. The location — near a bustling North Beach corner, cannot be beat. Looking forward to returning for lunch or dinner.

Went here on a Sunday morning for a brunch. Initially we had planned to go to Mamas up the street but their line was so outrageous(70+ people!!!) that after 15 minutes of line not moving we were like — screw it were going somewhere else so we ended up at this cozy place. We got seated right away at a cool table outside. I had florentine and my bf had Elvis in north beach sandwich. The Benedict was ok, not as good as at Zazie but adequate. However the Elvis sandwich, this place gets 4 stars just for that. So tasty and the flavors were so intense, delicious and wonderfully combined. Best Elvis sandwich in town. The portions are good, you definitely won’t leave hungry. Yummy place to go eat. Pick the weirdest thing a on the menu for they are the best. Don’t go with comfortable faves but experiment, experiment, experiment! :) and sit outside on a sunny day. Or cold day too because they have heat lamps above every table :) Eat Elvis.

Came here as an SF local playing tourist over christmas break. After working up an appetite climbing around coit tower, we walked down to North Beach and grabbed an outdoor table at Café Delucchi. It was a sunny day, so being outside and feeling the breeze was perfect. We ordered the original caesar salad, with fresh anchovies on top, the rigatoni bolonese, and the snapper sandwich. Everything was impossibly fresh and delicious. The wait staff were very friendly as well, which is so important in a dining experience. Definitely recommend Café Delucchi to tourists and locals alike!
