Deli Board is awesome! The sandwiches are amazing. The bread they use is not too soft that it falls apart, and it’s not too hard that it tears your mouth to pieces. It’s just right. They’re generous with their fillings, and it’s always fresh and delicious. The people are super friendly, and there’s usually a line out the door during lunch time, which is a sign of loyal customers. The downside is that there’s usually a line out the door during lunch time. The price you pay for good food, I guess.

I love Deli Board. I shamelessly leave work early to grab Deli Board for dinner before it closes(shh)… I sing songs about Deli Board… I annoy my friends by recommending too often to eat at Deli Board. It’s whatever, I’ll get new friends. **They have daily specials, so check the board! Expect long lines, but expect it to be worth the bomb-ass sandwich you’ll soon be oh-my-gaww-ing over. **If you’re looking for turkey and avocado… the ZEKE(+ bacon, cream cheese, pickled onions, sprouts, mayo, on a French roll) or the FAY(+ Swiss cheese, cherry peppers, coleslaw, board sauce, mayo, on a garlic Dutch crunch) Can’t go wrong with either. **(Board sauce is kinda like a spicy Russian dressing) **Try the MEZMAN if you’re looking for something different! Juicy Romanian pastrami, deviled egg salad, muenster cheese, cherry peppers, pickles, Board sauce, on a garlic dutch crunch! I thought it would be way too heavy, but it wasn’t! Though it is very filling, it didn’t leave me feeling incapacitated… Super nommy! **THETHICK, JUICYBOARDPICKLESAREAMAZING. They’re always happy to give you extra :) **Also awesome is the Stadium Mustard that they carry, their hot sauces, and that they have Dirty Chips! Yay! They also have some bombbbb daily soups as well.

Go here. Eat a sandwich. Be happy. Repeat. Here’s the deal: this is San Francisco, which means there are a lot of people here to get a sandwich(see above). Because of this, you will have to wait in line. You will have to wait for your sandwich to be prepared. To ensure decent service, they will not do more than six sandwiches per person. So don’t be an idiot and expect them to Know Who You Are and break the rules for you. The sandwiches are absolutely delicious, worth the price, and worth the wait.

The variety of sandwiches in the San Francisco food scene is amazing for a sandwich lover like me, from the overflowing Ike’s sandwich to the touted Roli Roti porchetta. Deli Board is the hidden gem of sandwich spots, deep down in Soma where only those in-the-know frequent for one of the best sandwiches in the city. It’s an Ike’s-style sandwich, on the heavier side with meat, sauce, and cheese, but somehow it’s lighter on the palate, with a better formed sandwich that doesn’t leave you feeling weighed down. Their Dutch Crunch is honestly the best that I’ve had, sourced from The Rye Project just around the corner. Although on the expensive side, their sandwiches boast a hefty amount of meat, to the extent that I end up taking half out. My favorite sandwich is the Fay, made with roasted turkey, your choice of cheese, Board sauce, and avocado. It’s packed tightly so your fillings aren’t oozing out the side, but you get some of each ingredient in every bite. The garlic Dutch Crunch has the perfect crunch and zing of garlic that brings the whole sandwich together. The size is much more manageable than the behemoths from Ike’s and nothing is too sweet or too salty. Deli Board is my go-to for an indulgent sandwich that keeps the tummy happy throughout the day!

Neat little sandwich joint. Portions are big, staff is really friendly, and service is speedy. Prices are a little steep but definitely not excessive. Good spot for quick bite.

YUMMMMDELIBOARD! I met a friend for lunch here today. We wanted to meet somewhere in-between both of our work places an didn’t know where to choose! Deli Board was recommended by one of her friends who lives in this area and her recommendation did not disappoint! Deli Board sure knows how to make some tasty sandos. We decided to order two sandwiches and split them, thus the Caralze and Fay were chosen, ordered, and eaten. LEMENU –Caralze: SOGOOD. pastrami, cherry peppers, pickles, cole slaw, on a garlic french roll. All of the flavors together were amazing. The garlic french bread wasn’t too garlicky if you’re concerned about garlic breath afterwards. –Fay: turkey, avocado, swis cheese, cherry peppers, on a garlic dutch crunch roll. I ordered this one because I love turkey + avocado. This one was also yummy but not as amazing. Maybe because the turkey was not as tasty as the pastrami? Or maybe because I was already getting stuffed from the Caralze. PROS: –PICKLES!!! fat, thick, juicy pieces of pickles to compliment the sandwiches. Also chips. CONS: –Gets kinda crowded around lunch + limited seating Ahh such a good place for lunch. I was stuffed afterwards and I had about ¼ of my Fay sandwich left. I wish this place was a bit closer to me so I could come by more often! Definitely recommend the Caralze :)

I ordered the Mezman and it was one if the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The pastrami was warm, cheese perfectly melted and the bread was not soggy or too rough on my mouth(how dutch crunch can sometimes be). The sliced pickles on the side were a nice touch too. The menu is unique and everything sounds delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try more. While the sandwich was amazing the price was a little higher than I usually spend on a deli sandwich and the sandwich itself was smaller than average. That’s the only thing stopping me from giving this place the 5 star rating.

I reallllly tried to like Deli Board, I mean c’mon, it’s 2pm on a casual Thursday afternoon and the line is still out the door, that a good sign, right? Deli Board is a small hole in the wall, fast paced shop with a tiny kitchen that dishes out soups, salads, sauces and most importantly: hand crafted, loaded, mouthwatering looking sandwiches! Their menu is jam packed with tons of pre made selections of sandwiches that come loaded with various meats: briskets, pastrami, corned beef, roast beef, salami… etc as well as a plethora of toppings to go along on their freshly baked breads. It’s also bit overwhelming to decide what you want to order with all these options and if that is the case, you can always customize one too! So I ordered the $$$ sandwich(pronounced as the«money» sandwich) which came with brisket, corned beef, kosher salami, muenster cheese, cheddar cheese, cherry peppers, cole slaw, board sauce, all inside their french roll. It was the first item on their menu and I heard good things about it. When my order came out, it looked massive, eye appealing, and my mouth was ready to tackle every bite of it. The sandwich was filling and hit the spot but something about just seemed missing, there was not«it» factor to it to distinguish it from other sandwiches I’ve had in my life. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but for $ 15 dollars(the standard price for most sandwiches there) I guess I expected just a little more. I left feeling full but unfulfilled after the hype I had in my mind. Nonetheless Deli Board seemed like a great spot the locals frequented and I’d be happy to come back and try some other menu items!

The sandwiches are great, and the owner’s dedication to his sandwich craft is sincere and dedicated. He once chased me and my friend outside because he saw us putting the bunch of sandwiches we’d ordered for our friends in a backpack, and he explained to us that the sandwiches couldn’t breathe in a backpack, and they needed to be in the paper bag to maintain peak sandwich deliciousness. Overwhelmed by his poignant and sincere message, we carried the sandwiches back in the paper bag as requested. I also recently tried a salad here, and it was delicious! I may just order salads going forward, I liked it so much.

Fast paced. Always Crowded. Constantly yummy and creative with the menu items. Perfect(once a week) cheat-on-your-diet spot! Try my personal favorite: «Zeke» turkey breast, pickled onion, sprouts, mayo, avocado, bacon, cream cheese, french roll. Once I described the owner(Adam) as a maestro — a modern day Mozart of sandwiches. He and his team are leading an extremely talented orchestra of menu items. Following this analogy, IMHO — Zeke is his«Requiem.»

Goodness me — what a sandwich. I’ll come straight out with it: my experience at Deli Board brought about what is without a doubt the second best sandwich I’ve ever had(if you’re curious, it’s behind only the Porchetta sandwich at Italia Deli and Bakery in Agoura Hills, California: ), and if the price point were just a smidgen lower this would be one of the easier five-star reviews I’ve ever written. Come here. Now. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? I’ve only been to San Francisco maybe four or five times over the past couple of years, so you might chuckle when I say that I was initially a bit concerned walking through a rougher part of town on my way to the gentrified oasis that houses Deli Board. Surrounding area aside, the service and atmosphere at Deli Board are both excellent, and while each sandwich is indeed a masterpiece, they come out quickly. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? As I touched on, my experience at Deli Board was sensational, and the one and only drawback was the price. Have a look at the picture of my ‘Mina’ sandwich at the bottom of this review. Looks delicious yeah? It was, as you’ll read, and it was pretty big, but the price tag prior to tax/tip was fifteen bones. $ 15? That’s like, two guac-less Chipotle burritos just about. I don’t think I’ve ever had a sandwich that expensive, and while this was a decent amount of food and some seriously fresh and flavorful ingredients, I simply can’t dish out the value star here. $ 12? Even $ 13? Now we’re talking, but half way to $ 20? I can’t do it even though there are some cheaper sandwiches on the menu. No Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Again, this was absolutely brilliant. Fresh pastrami that was flavorful without being too fatty, lettuce, peppers, cheese, sauces, and some of the freshest bread in town. Above all else, while I can’t say how they do it, the sandwiches at Deli Board are either toasted or packaged in a way that melds all of the ingredients together into a single cohesive dish as opposed to the piecework stuff you find elsewhere that ends up being nothing even resembling a sum of it’s parts. The sandwiches at Deli Board are something special, and you won’t go wrong regardless of what you order. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Without a doubt I could eat this every single day of my life if my organs(and wallet) would allow it. Wonderful. Star Granted.

Look if you want delicious & fresh sandwich, you gotta come here! A lot to choose from, I decided on the«Mina» sandwich with pickles of course! The sandwich was absolutely amazing. Decent portion and lots of meats inside. The pickles come in a plastic bag, and they’re the best pickles you’re gonna ever have! And please don’t you dare to not drawn your sandwich with their amazing homemade hot sauces! Just go there!

FINALLY tried this place and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Carzle and I really only have positive things to say. Both the pastrami and the brisket were incredibly tender(and it’s hard to make good brisket!), the cherry peppers exploded with spiciness, the bread was fresh and perfected toasted, and all the other fixins worked. On it’s own, each bite of sandwich needed just a little more acidity, which is exactly why you get the bag o’ pickles on the side — mmm! Though one thing I learned is that although both meats were good, I enjoyed the smoked cured pastrami better than the brisket so on a future trip I will likely just order a pastrami sandwich. Either that or the Rubenesque, which my friend ordered and thoroughly enjoyed. Lastly, regarding the size of these sandwiches — without too much trouble I finished the entire thing in one sitting. That said, I skipped dinner that night. Yeah, $ 15($ 16.31 after tax) is certainly expensive for one sandwich. But when it was that good, it still deserves 4 stars. My tip: If you want to save money, bring your own water so you don’t have to pay for a beverage.

WHAT A WAYTOMAKEMEATSHINE. The way it’s constructed with a minimal amount of sauce, the right amount of pickle, and warmly toasted medium-thickness bread makes the meat taste even more yummy. I almost prefer the meat chopped up like this vs the old school NY style where it comes in chunks/slices. The Hermine consists of pastrami, corned beef, and beef brisket, and is sort of a replacement for The Boca which many Unilocalers talk about. It’s all chopped up so I can’t really tell the difference between the meats as I’m eating it. All I know is that I love it. This thing costs $ 15 and comes with a side of pickles which is one pickle with the ends chopped off. It tastes strong on its own but I barely notice the one in the sandwich. If you’re looking at the specials online, know that there are more options when you get there including some for vegetarians(mostly containing falafels) and nothing really for vegans unless you abstain from the mayo-based board sauce.

This place has become one of my favorite places to get sandwiches! Oh my yum! I think of this place all the time when I’m craving sandwiches, but the downside is that they close at 4pm and I don’t get off work until after! My husband and I shared the Ron. It had a lot of things in the sandwich, but that’s what made it delicious! A Rob had roast beef, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, avocado, slaw, board sauce on a garlic French roll. We never eat jalapeños because I can’t take spicy food, but I decided to give it a try. The flavors of the ingredients put together was so good! The jalapeños wasn’t too spicy and the bread was perfect! They put a generous amount of roast beef. They weren’t stingy at all! The next time come here, I’m excited to try the D. Rubin! It’s a pastrami and corned beef sandwich with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and 1000 island dressing on a Dutch crunch. Or a Boca which had brisket, pastrami, corned beef, muenster cheese board sauce, brown mustard on a French roll. Omg! Those sound amazing!
