Come on, AT&T Park, just because the standard«hot dog and fries» concession stands are getting outpaced by the fancier eateries, that doesn’t mean you can just let them go to seed. In 2015 we’re still boiling hot dogs, really? And then putting them on buns that are two inches shorter than the dog? I get that the garlic fries won’t be perfect restaurant-grade shoestrings, but the limp soggy look just isn’t fetching. Get it together guys, this is such a top-notch stadium, it deserves a better effort than this.

The Derby Grill on the Promenade level near the Coke bottle sells lamb burgers for around $ 13. I tried one and was disappointed. The lamb patty was small and overcooked, and the rest of the burger was very ordinary. No fries included. Still, I’m glad they are trying to do something a little different.

I already expect high prices when going to the ballpark, so I won’t go into on how overpriced everthing is. That aside, I love Love LOVE ballpark food! Give me hot dogs, nachos, burgers and fries any day. I want them all! They are several Derby grills throughout the park. Last game, I hit 2 different ones. The first time, to get Garlic fries and a Blue moon. I love the garlic fries at AT&T! The give you a good amount of garlic, so beware if you’re on a date. You’ll be breathing garlic fire after eating these! But if you’re like me and you don’t care, get these! The second time, we hit a different Derby grill and got nachos. I personally like more stuff on my nachos(like meat, guacamole, etc), so if you’re looking for nachos with more than cheese, salsa and jalapenos, try another food stand. But for simple nachos, these are great! The cashiers were all nice and friendly. Each transaction was fast and efficient. Got carded by everyone which was funny since I’m clearly over 21. Lol! Every time I go to the park, my one staple are the Garlic fries! Sooo worth the killer garlic breath afterwards!

God, but nothing too special. The garlic fries are good, but get soggy real quick. If you like soggy fries then this is the place for you. Lines get a little long and as expected for the ball bark, it’s pricey, but it’s not all bad. It’s tasy at least until they get soggy. Still, I suggest you try the fries at least once in your life so you can judge these fries for yourself. Just eat them quick is my advice.

BETTERGARLICFRIESTHANTHEGILROY’S GARLICSTAND Derby Grill is the place to shop when youre in the market for a new basket of garlic fries. You could shop around at the other local stores(ie. Gilroy Garlic Fries stand). The prices are going to be within a couple dollars of one another. So why not pick the place with the shorter lines, fresher potatoes, and crunchier fries?! These babies are loaded with garlic. I asked for extra garlic and the woman told me, they’re all extra garlic. Hallelujah! We gobbled up the mints that came with the fries and almost went back for more when the basket was empty. More fries, that is! We seriously stopped at like 10 stands and bought food on opening day. The Derby was the fastest and friendliest service.

I didn’t really eat per se but I got a cheesesteak for the boyfriend and I must say that service was quite awesome. The cheesesteak took less than 3 minutes. I know this because I excused myself to get him 2 beers from the kisosk behind and heard my order being called out before they handed me the bottles of beer. The cheesesteak looked small but what do you expect when you are at the ball game? Expensive junk foods w/a touch of mediocre… the beef was tender and I liked the peppers however, for a cheesesteak, it lacked cheese! Seriously, I didn’t see a lick of cheese on the thing! Most importantly was that we both seemed to enjoy it, nonetheless. It comes to show that more often than not it’s the service and the company you are w/that brings you back…

Pretty decent turkey burger at the ballpark. They serve garlic fries too. You can’t sit through a Giant’s game without garlic fries. Just like you can’t sit through a Giant’s game without beer. Yes, everything’s expensive. Yes, you can get better food outside the park. Yes, the lines are long, no matter which Derby Grill you visit. But it’s convenient & you get a ton of food. I couldn’t even finish my fries!

Chicken Tenders and Garlic Fries with a side of Ranch… I’M IN! For $ 10.50, you get a regular order of Garlic Fries topped with three pieces of Chicken Tenders. It’s not anything fancy… it is what it is… and it hits the spot every time. What really puts it over the top is the Ranch sauce… what a combination. A little expensive… but someones gotta pay for Zito’s contract right?

We finally got to experience the«fine dining» atmosphere of the Club Level at PacBell, AT&T, SBC, whatever Park. Okay, maybe eating at the Derby Grill isn’t really fine dining, but it was the closest food to the door, and we were staved. So, it was Derby Grill or bust! The service was a bit better than at the rest of the Derby Grills available to us common folk, maybe that’s because they don’t have to deal with the«common» drunks; but, there were plenty of «club level» drunks running around acting like their need for napkins was the end of the world. The line was just as long as the rest of the Debry Grills, but having twice as many cashiers really did help. We were through the line in no time at all. The food. Well, the food was deffinately not better. Our garlic fries had been sitting under the heat lamps way too long. They were shrivelled up and dried out. And, I guess they think that the«fabuloulsy rich» of the Club Level don’t like garlic on their fries, maybe they’re worried about bad breath? There was almost no garlic on them. Finally, the price. Well, some things never change. Two hot dogs, an order of garlic fries, and one large soda completely cleaned out my wallet. Oh well, at least we finally got to see the inside of the Club Level.
