DELISH brunch spot. Very accommodating to our group which had a child in a high chair and two infants. Only complaint was the food took a while to come out. They did bring my toddler his food first, at my request which was helpful! But everything we ordered was so good and worth the wait. Our table really loved the croissant French toast(with blueberries!) and the Nutella pancakes.

Every time we pass through grub is packed, came here on a Thursday morning and it was completely full and they make you wait outside without even greeting you, we patiently waited for 10 minutes and no one ever came out, we had a lady next to us that kept asking if they have a wait list. Long story short we left because our toddler hates waiting! We decided to come today and the service was way different than the last time, we got greeted right away and got a table for 3. The place wasn’t as packed as the last time. Service was quick and attentive and that’s one of the reasons I’m giving a 3 to this spot. The only thing that sucked was that as I stated I have a toddler and she loves when she gets color books and crayons and this restaurant does not provide any. As for food, I thought it wasn’t too great, husband had the chicken fried stake and the gravy did not have flavor at all. Hash browns a little undercooked. I had the Denver omelette which I also thought the flavors weren’t there. We both have bottomless mimosas for $ 14 which was the best deal here in this place. Nice and clean place but the food is not as good. I might come and give it another try.

Grub! 3.5 stars. Nomnomnomnomonomnomnomnomnom. So, when Grub first opened there were a lot of kinks to work through, but now that there’s been some time to get through growing pains; I must say, I’m a fan. Even though it’s usually packed, the wait isn’t too terrible and you can always snag a table(especially for two!). Service however, is super slow so don’t come here starving. Friend and I decided to pick two dishes and share. We got the corned beef eggs bennie, and chicken fried steak. The eggs were poached perfectly(which I totally appreciate) and the hashbrowns were perfectly crisp. Shredded hashbrowns are my absolute favorite! The hollandaise was pretty savory but not the best I’ve had. Of the two dishes, I can’t tell you which I liked better so just order both. The coffee is unlimited refills and strong. This place is also poppin’ with tons of vegetarian options, which I love!

Quickly got a seat at Grub around 1:45 pm and ordered in about 3min. Did not get our food until 2:30 pm. I noticed people around us that got sat way after we did had gotten their food already. The server did not apologize but he did take off one item off the check for waiting so long. I also did not get my water refilled the entire time. Food was ok, nothing special. Not worth the long wait and bad service. Giving them two stars only because it looked clean and we got sat right away.

Monstrous italian ommellette. Pesto was a little bit salty, but scraped it off and then homeostasis happened. Wait staff was friendly, although gone around the corner a lot. But hey, who likes being pushed by waitstaff

Really good brunch food. If you are looking for good breakfast and mimosas this place is for you. It gets really busy on Sundays and the quality of service goes down because of it but overall this was a good brunch and a fun place to check out before Delores park shenanigans given its proximity. They have good vegetarian options and it is a good place for groups, especially if you plan on drinking. The florentine and the waffles are where its at here. Its clean and modern restaurant with a hipster vibe due to the fact that its smack dab in the mission. Would come back to this place!

At long last! Uncovered a cool spot near work to get a hot breakfast! Joe’s skillet omelette and a side of the thickest bacon I’ve seen in a long time! Might be my only meal today!

We had just beaten the rush and the place looked really clean and nice. Had all the breakfasty/brunchy items I wanted and settled on an omelette. My bf also got the omelette but when we got them looked great but was sooo oily. Like it was tipped with oil or something. After each bite I felt like I was putting on extra another application of Chapstick. Not good! Also came with hash browns and toast. The hash browns weren’t fully cooked and was like a thick bed of potatoes. He ordered a coffee but when he poured milk in it white floating bits appeared. Like they didn’t clean the milk bottle well enough. Only thing I liked abut my dish was the bread and the ice water.

If your looking for a hearty breakfast and you’re in the Mission, Grub is your best bet. The restaurant has a diner feel and an extensive menu; however, my girlfriend and I ordered the same thing! We both ordered the chicken fried steak and it was delicious and hearty. The portion is huge and came with toast and some of the best hash browns I’ve ever had.

We were pleasantly surprised by our experience here! The food was quite good, the service was quick, and the setting is light and bright. We came here for a weekday lunch and enjoyed our meal. I had the burger with a side garden salad and found my meal fresh and flavorful! My husband liked his generously sized Chinese chicken salad. The food came out quickly. They forgot to bring us silverware, but brought it promptly when asked. The setting is clean, modern, and light-filled, smells like a(tasty) diner. Overall, we had a pleasant experience here and will be back!

You had me at greasy hash browns — seriously, just a pile of killer potatoes not gussied up or updated. Also love the Grub omelette, country fried steak, and the burger. Service is a little unsteady, but friendly, and the food more than makes up for it. My new go-to spot.

The place is bright and pleasant, with what felt like the usual Valencia Street style. My waiter was friendly, helpful, and polite. The French toast came out quickly, served by the cook. It’s not bad, but it’s on the squishy side. I prefer French toast with a bit of crustiness. I ordered chicken-apple sausage that didn’t arrive, an error which my waiter caught the second he passed by. Since the portions are bigger here than I was expecting, I just cancelled the order. I’d come back and try something else if I was with someone who wanted to come here, but I don’t know that I’d make a point of coming back.

Geez, Grub is getting more and more packed by the day. We had no choice but to sit in the very sunny table by the window. Usually, window spots are lovely, but not when the sun is shining directly into the little alcove that your table is in. My boyfriend could barely see straight, staring directly in the direction of the sun, and I was burning up after just a few minutes. My boyfriend got up and asked one of the staff members to switch. That person said we had to share a table with another twosome, so we decided to wait it out. My boyfriend sat back down, when literally 10 seconds later a couple walked in and they made a new table for them right away. We got up again and eventually got another table. A lady walked in tried to steal the table they were setting up for us, by putting her bag on the table and hovering around it. One of the waiters told her to scram. Yeah! Suck it, lady, and wait in line like the rest of us. Once that whole situation was over and we were seated at a lovely, non-sunny window, we had a good meal. Mission omelet — they forgot to top with salsa, but they apologized and brought us some salsa right away. My boyfriend is on a diet and asked for no toast, with tomatoes on the side. Joe’s omelet with turkey — I liked the Mission omelet better. It’s more flavorful with the kick of the salsa. Bowl of fruit — excellent selection of strawberries, blueberries, melons, and pineapples. They certainly put good thought into the fruit. The coffee here is strong, and Splenda is available on request.

Good spot for classic American breakfast. Eggs Benedict sauce had a nice tang; corned beef hash was delectable with serious chunks of meat. Décor is nothing special. But the staff is friendly as can be.

Brunch is definitely my favorite meal of weekend and I was skeptical that Grub could pull off a good one. That said, after trying their Chicken and Waffles, I was impressed. Then I went in for the Short Ribs Benedict, and I was hooked. Nothing super special about the ambiance of the place and things like the hash browns won’t blow every one of your taste bud’s tiny taste bud brains, but it’s not like it’s they are all that bad either. Next time I drop in I’m skipping the coffee and going right for the milkshakes.

Walked in post workout one Sunday for brunch, my husband ordered an omelette with pesto and I ordered the kale spinach chicken salad. The dressing was a little bit too much and I should have asked for it on the side but otherwise it was a solid delicious salad and my husband really liked his omelette too. The tater tot hill looked delicious, maybe next time! Definitely a great brunch spot.

It was very crowded but we got seated quickly and the service was nice. The food was very good. Salad fresh, omelette looked and tasted wonderful, all types of potatoes made well, and coffee was delicious with refills being made before I had to ask for one.

Please please fix your customer service. On peak days the service is a disaster here. Last time, they mixed up our orders and left the cheese on. Today, it took 20min to get the server’s attention and they forgot a dish.

Came here for brunch. Ordered bottomless mimosas for a group of 8. After our meal and we paid for our check, we wanted to stick around and hang out. They rushed us out after we spent over $ 300 on a meal and drinks. We were refused an extra round of mimosas 30 minutes prior to closing. Don’t come here if you want bottomless mimosas.

I’ve come here twice now and really enjoyed everything Grub has to offer. Came here the first time on a Sunday around noon after our normal brunch spot had too long of a wait. We signed up on the wait list at Grub and were seated in 5 minutes. I ordered the wet veggie burrito and a cup of coffee. My entrée was excellent, full of flavor and filling. The ranchero sauce was tangy and not too salty. Grub’s coffee in a word, is the bomb! Rich and deeply roasted without being bitter, I could drink this stuff all day. My wife got the Grub Skillet and bottomless mimosa. The really enjoyed the skillet. The veggies weren’t over cooked and even with bacon and chicken sausage it wasn’t greasy. For the bottomless mimosa, I don’t know if this is normal, but our server placed a full bottle of champagne on the table along with a small carafe of OJ and let my wife serve herself, which was great(no waiting!). Food was great, service was great! At no point did we feel rushed to vacate our table. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Went here twice and the food is alright but not amazing. It’s just typical american breakfast foods, nothing really special. The portions for the grub combo was huge though. My boyfriend had the the french toast which was very soggy. I had the eggs benedict with spinach and tomato and it was not that good. The spinach was overcooked because I couldn’t get that bitterness taste out of my mouth. The only good thing we had was the tator tots and hash browns.

Came here for brunch with friends and left sorely disappointed by the food. My huevos rancheros were completely lacking in any flavor — just bland AF. I realize that you may be tempted by the shorter wait time, but know that you’re compromising on the food.

I couldn’t eat my food… I’m sorry but this place looks like a nice brunch place to go to, but the food needs some revamping or something. They used good quality ingredients, but the flavors or combinations are just not put together right. I ordered a pesto omellette that had sundried tomatoes, some greens, and blue cheese and I added bacon for some protein. Golly, everything in that omellette was salty and sour. The blue cheese did not go well with the eggs and along with the super salty sundried tomatoes. I sometimes question… Do they even eat their own food that they cook? I also didnt forget the pesto green sauce on top of the omellette, again, did not go very well with the food. My bf ordered cornhash and I think he could have reasonably chip some teeth eating it. It was pretty hard and tender and you can eat it slower than I can drink my whole cup of oj. However, all those things aside. The hashbrowns, I’ll give it to them. It was all that I could eat and did eat.

Pretty mediocre food with very slow service. There were 4 parties ahead of us when we arrived but it took forever for us to actually get tables(even though there were empty ones). It was just that the turnaround time was so slow. It was clear that there were parties ready to get the check and leave but they couldn’t get the attention of their server. They really need more than just two servers for this place! The brunch menu is mostly egg-based: skillets, omelettes, benedicts, breakfast burritos, etc. We ordered the Sicilian Omelet and the Grub Skillet(since the omelettes and skillets are what they are supposedly known for). The food took forever to come out… and let’s be honest… it really doesn’t take that long to fry up some eggs so there’s really no excuse there. The Sicilian was terrible. I think it was supposed to have some pesto sauce on it but that was completely absent from my dish. I love sundried tomatoes but the amount that they put in along with the feta and everything else was just way too overwhelming… it was too sour and off-putting. Not balanced at all. On the side, it was served with a nice hashbrown and toast(I opted for sourdough). The Grub Skillet was much better. Basically instead of the hashbrown on the side, the hashbrown was at the bottom of the skillet with an egg scramble and all of the meats & cheese on top. The chicken apple sausage was definitely the winner in the grub skillet mix. Serving size was definitely large and the price tag wasn’t too bad for the SF area. But I wasn’t super impressed with the food and definitely not with the service. I was amazed at how long the wait was for such mediocre food.

If you need to find a hearty breakfast on Valencia at 8:30am on an Sunday, Grub is a good choice. Mostly eggy stuff; they have some pancakes and waffles, but their strength is omlettes/skillets/breakfast burritos. We were not brave enough to try the mound of tater tots. Nothing is particularly memorable, but stuff is good enough. I do wish the menu would be a little more creative, though. Really, it’s 3 stars for the food. I’m giving it 4 just to counterbalance all of the unwarranted complaints about the service here on Unilocal.Service was prompt and attentive, I really don’t know what folks are on about.

They reopened/reinvigorated/re-somethafied this place with the same darn title, but it sure took some time to find a person to seat us. Finally getting someone’s attention(did they see us???) after a 10-min span, we got our seats. On with the show! My brunch order consisted of: –chiliquilles 2 eggs scrambled w/tortilla chips & salsa roja, topped w/queso fresco, avocado, sour cream & cilantro — served w/hash browns –side of bacon –mimosa –water –hell or high watermelon beer I had been telling my other half about chilaquiles(note the correct spelling) for the longest time, and now I could feast on them! Lots of chips, queso and avocado, but that’s essentially what the gist is. Good hunk of it. Bacon side was my necessary carnivorous component. Service kinda took forever to get started(i.e. for us to be noticed to get a table), but once it got goin’, the rest was a’ight. Our service itself was quite friendly, make no mistake, but I think there simply could be more people on hand — seemingly too many guests per server, which is not fair for them.

Pretty average brunch spot in the Mission! Plus point: even prime time, like around 11 – 1 on Saturday and Sunday mornings, there’s no wait! If you’re looking for a place with your typical breakfast options and not wanting to wait long, this is your spot! Sadly, even though the wait is short, it actually took a long time for our food to be served so that’s definitely one downfall. We ordered the veggie omelet and the huevos rancheros. The veggie omelet was pretty solid — fresh veggies and cheese, but it was lacking a little flavor. There was nothing special, think typical omelet you would get in a neighborhood diner. The huevos rancheros were just ok — the poached eggs were served in their tomato-y ranchero sauce which I was not a huge fan of. The redeeming factor for this dish was the cole slaw it was served with. The salad added a great texture to the dish which was otherwise just poached tortillas, eggs and beans(all very soft ingredients). I would call this place more comfort food than something unique and extraordinary. Come here if you’re in the mood for something simple and homely.

A little underrated, maybe a little over priced. That is why I don’t get quite why people don’t love this place more. With the pretentious hash concoctions and bloody good day-drinks. But this is not a criticism — by any means, as the thing that makes this place good is the fact that you don’t have to queue around the block, wasting half of your weekend like an utter twat. The food selection is vast, but it has everything you need: eggs benedict; corned beef hash; granola, and it’s all utterly fine and without fuss. You may pay a couple of extra dollars for a slight lack of food ‘quality’(read: flourish) but it is so worth it to be able to sit down and sod off within an hour.

We were walking in Valencia St looking for breakfast. This place looked nice with a great ambiance, so we decided to try it out. As we were waiting for our order, our neighbors got theirs. WOW! They looked soooo good! Now we were waiting for our order with excitement! Well… Didn’t turn out very good. I had a bowl of fruits which tasted like dirt. My husband got a 3 stack pancakes with banana. Sadly, they looked as dull as they tasted. Service was fine. And again, the place looks really nice. Just don’t order fruit or pancakes!

Came early on a Saturday morning. The place was pretty empty and I was quite happy that there was room for a stroller as many places do not in the mission. We ordered chilaquiles and a grub breakfast combo… to sum it up, underwhelming and a bit expensive for what we got. The chilaquiles were very sour, likely too much salsa and I don’t understand why they would put soft scrambled eggs on this dish. It didn’t really go together.(2⁄5) The breakfast combo was standard, pancakes, sausage and hash browns. The best thing on the dish was hash browns. The pancakes were a bit bland.(3⁄5) To make the experience worse, the wait was long. Long to order, long to get our food, long to get our check… when there were two servers and two in the kitchen. Usually service doesn’t bother me, but if the food doesn’t satisfy, service helps! With so many brush options in the mission is it highly unlikely I would return.
