The price is $ 16 now, still a fantastic deal. You can give Bang direction, but she basically cuts all the heads pretty much the same. which actually works, because all heads are different. Her color is good, too, and a fraction of the usual price — $ 45. Can’t go wrong here.

This place used to have more than one hair stylist in the hay day, now it is just the owner, Bang. Although my original stylist is gone, I always come back and receive a consistent hair cut by Bang(the owner). Usually no long wait. You can call at 441‑4289 to check before you come. I’m a white guy and looking at the reviews, Bang who is the sole hair stylist and owner take pride in what she she does. She keeps her salon nice and clean. She also does good coloring. If you decide to get hilights, go for the traditional method, the shortcut frosting will cost just the same. Overall, a good and convenient place to go which is even open on Sundays.

Having just moved to the bay living downtown in the TL, I was anticipating but more like dreading my first hair cutting adventure. I saw this place on Unilocal which was a 30 sec walk from my apt. It was a short wait and the lady who cut my hair, Bang, was very friendly and cut my hair efficiently. Having been used to paying $ 40+ for a haircut I was pleasantly surprised with the result. My hair came out looking very even and tightly cut. Can’t beat the price!

My bf just got a buzz cut here and it was fast and exactly what he wanted. For 12 bucks you can’t beat it. And there was no wait on a Saturday afternoon!

I’ve been visiting Bang for years and years. She is great and always has time to cut my hair. At $ 12 it’s hard to beat! If there’s a line I just go grab a Thai iced tea and she’s almost done by the time I get back.

The owner of J & D knows how to tame hair like mine, that classic wiry Asian hair. Before I found J & D, it was always a gamble going into a salon. In inexperienced hands, my hair has been butchered to the point that tufts pop up like I have perpetual bed-head. J & D is easy to miss in the Little Saigon section of the Tenderloin. When the place was called Zeno, I used to get my hair cut by a guy named Michael. But he regularly would party too much the night before and miss our appointment or trudge in with a hangover. So I finally tried the owner. She’s great and easy going, but she does have her own perspective as to what she thinks will work. She’s given me the disapproving pause more than once for my off-target haircut ideas and she hasn’t let me down. She was right, the mullet isn’t coming back.
