This is the second time I’ve tried to eat here but the hours are all over the place. The hours on Unilocal are completely different to the ones posted on the restaurant’s door. Please update!

This place was awesome. Very nice homey feeling. The pad thai and egg rolls were both bomb and the fried ice cream for desert left me so full, but in the best possible way. :)

Dreadful. This is one of those restaurants where the owner barely tastes his food and the chef is unskilled and fricking around. First impression: pretty cheap and they look like they know what they’re doing. However, everything is definitely not what it looks like. I ordered beef charbroiled. Not only the food looked disorganized but also I found 2 pieces of plastic. The owner brought out the same dish and apologized. Second chance, quantity of food was less and the beef was as raw as the flesh in the walking dead. The owner took it back and brought it again. This time, the beef was burned. The taste wasn’t that good as well, and I was charged regularly. Say no more, if the owner don’t change the chef, this restaurant is not gonna last for long. mark my words.

We’ve been eating here for over 25 years, since we moved to the Sunset way back when, and we’ve continued visiting since we moved across town. Fantastic food, friendly service, the owner’s known our daughter since she was a baby and is always welcoming. The spicy Lanna Chicken is my favorite, but it’s all good. You can also buy jars of their peanut sauce to take home, which I strongly recommend. Just a terrific neighborhood place, and some of the best Thai food in SF.

awesome place in the sunset. Stuffed wings were delicious and they made the fried banana ice cream in the shape of a smiley :) Definitly repeat.

The meal i had was amazing. It was my first time coming here. I had a craving for Thai food and this place was on the top of my list. The restaurant is nice and cozy. They have a lotto station at the front entrance. They also have 2 televisions that show lotto numbers and the other shows menu items and gives a description. It works out great. The setup of this place is nice. Lots of wood and decorations on the wall. I think i was the first customer in today which was really cool for me. I did want to get a Thai iced tea but i completely forgot. I looked at the menu and noticed that the Thai iced tea here looked real good. Good vibes here. Definitely coming back again. The owners are this nice older couple. Good times here. They also do take orders. Next time i will call in my order but either way it was a good experience.

One of my favorite neighborhood eats, Lanna always leaves me feeling satiated without a big hit to the wallet. My go to’s are the pad Thai & cashew chicken, yum! My fiancé is a big fan of the ga-prow. But really, the only thing we weren’t sold on was the stuffed chicken wing. This family business really needs to stick around — please eat at Lanna!

Are you even in business? Found the business hours on Unilocal saying that they open at 11:30 a.m. for lunch(Monday). I got there at 11:45 a.m., door was locked, dark inside. There is a sign on the door that says opens at 12 noon for lunch. So I waited and waited and waited and it was 12:10 p.m. and still no signs of anyone coming to open up. Not good! Went across the street to another restaurant.

This is an example of how unreliable Unilocal can be. Four stars really? Slow service sub par ingredients. Should have gone to China north or green bamboo.

I am still waiting for my soup since the past 35 min. The waiter wouldn’t come to take my order or serve me water but would pull the chair for the girls and bring them ice teas in 2 min. Wtf is this!

~3.5 Stars~ While the food was tasty and delicious, their portions were a bit lacking. I didn’t know if it was because we walked in 30 minutes before closing, but it seems from other reviews that we were not the only ones who felt this way.(I felt bad right before closing – but we spent all day moving into a place a couple blocks away so we were hungry and it was the only open closeby option) WEORDERED: — $ 30 dinner for 2 set which included: Tom Yum Soup(2 cups — we ordered an extra cup since there were 3 of us) Fish Cake Appetizer Yellow Curry with Chicken Garlic Pork Steamed rice — Sauteed veggies with tofu(don’t remember the name, it wasn’t very memorable) THEGOOD: + Everything was tasty + The Soup wasn’t overly sour and I really enjoyed this + The Curry flavor was very good + I like the mom&pop service atmosphere + Very friendly and fast to refill water THEBAD: — Small portions and therefore not worth the price — Slow service getting food out(even though we were the ONLY people in the place) — Thai curry is made with coconut milk which gives it a thinner consistency than Chinese/Japanese Curry. I found it very odd that they served this on a plate instead of in a bowl, so it just spread out over the entire plate which made the amount of chicken seem very sparse and made it more difficult to spoon it onto the rice(very tasty though!).

Despite the Unilocal faux-pas of always getting the same thing at Thai restaurants, my go-to is vegetarian pad Thai: — I’m too lazy to make decisions — Vegetarian makes me feel healthy(plus it’s real food, not something dismal like plain steamed vegetables) — You can tell it’s good Thai food when the pad Thai is tasty without being greasy to glossiness Veggie pad Thai never really goes wrong, but here it was so good it was devoured in no time. It had the homemade flavor striking a balance inclusive of the signature fish sauce, spicy chili, savory soy sauce, and sweet tamarind. It left me comfortably satisfied without any repugnant greasiness. At $ 7.45 for dinner, I definitely want to brag that I have found the quintessential hidden gem in this random mini restaurant row in Noreiga, except it was a friend’s suggestion so unfortunately I can’t take credit(citing my sources!) The ambiance is cute, very homey Thai décor with tropical touches… they should share decorations with the tiki bar down the street. Service is cute too, as in family run business cute – I’m not sure though, so don’t go about in a frenzy slapping on a local business sticker on their window. As if inexpensive and tasty and cute were not enough to make this a new go-to Thai place, they have lunch specials as well as daily specials. The online menu is helpful, as it contains prices, descriptions, and pictures(photos are not dSLR food porn pro level, but makes me crave Thai food nonetheless). Good thing this is some distance from the UCSF campus so I can walk off some of those pad Thai calories.

Per the great reviews, my expectations were high. A bit disappointed with the small portions for a take out order. I will give this place another chance at first impressions. This time I’ll eat there in hopes to share a great review like everyone else.

YUM! We went to SF to see the mosaic steps on 16th ave and then were looking for a good spot to have lunch. My boyfriend wanted Thai, and we found this place on Unilocal. He ordered the Saturday special(stuffed chicken wing and Thai curry chicken), which had so much flavor! I ordered the prawn curry, which was a little on the spicy side, but I like spicy. I loved my dish… bell pepper, pineapple, curry and prawns. I should have taken a picture but I ate it too fast! But they have pictures of almost all their food on their menu, which is helpful. Oh, I almost forgot! We also had an appetizer of fried calamari which was also excellent… sweet and spicy and definitely satisfying! Will for sure go back here again, the combination of great service, delicious food and fair pricing is a winning combination.

Try this place out! I was pleasantly surprised at the tastiness of the food here for under $ 7! Daily lunch specials M-F cost only $ 6.95, are filling, and the whole menu ranges around the same price too. Today my friends and I all ordered the daily special and we all loved it: pad thai with rice and bbq chicken. For dessert, we shared the fried banana with coconut ice cream, and savored it to the last bite. The environment is pretty ornate and there’s lots of seating. Service was great and our waiter was funny. I will be back!

CHEAPCHEAP lunch specials! If you know me, i like eating cheap bomb food. And this place has amazing lunch menus! Mostly was below $ 8 bucks and they have daily specials for $ 6.99! Perfect! My friends and I got the padthai with bbq chicken daily special and it comes with a soup! Soup was mehh super bland tasted like water but the entrée was good! Good portion, good combination of chicken bbq, pad thai and rice! I was satisfied and we even got a dessert! Now now… the fried banana and coconut ice cream was sooo good! The best! Sooo so worth a try! Portion was kind of small though. Service was good too. Overall i enjoyed the food here and will come back!

Came in for the first time half an hour ago & this place is by far one of my top Thai places in my neighborhood. The food is authentic and flavorful! I had the Wednesday special, which was Panang Chicken Curry and Stuffed Chicken Wings. It was delicious! This might just be my Wednesday spot, lol. I will def be back!

I really want to know how this place has more than 2 stars. I went here for take out. I called my order in and when I went to pick it up I should have turned away. The place smells funny, like musty old people’s house and mothballs. I Was thinking how does the food not over power this smell, but I was hungry. I got home and tried one of the spring rolls, and to my dismay it was so bland it was like eating cardboard, the dipping sauce didn’t help much either. So I moved to the rice. Just steamed rice, and I was a little pissed off that my rice box was hardly filled to the top. I then opened my chicken item, it was in a medium sized box and once again I opened the box and it was only half full. the food has absolutely no flavor to it. I didn’t think this was at all possible with Thai food, but lanna has really nailed that one. And the food tasted old everything had a strange foul smelling gravy on it, the item that I ordered shouldn’t have had gravy on it. I hate gravy. I ate the food, and now my stomach is in bad kind of way. Considering there are so many Thai places in the city, why the hell is this one still open. But I guess it’s all good. They sell lotto tickets in there too. WTF? I will never again go to this place! Mark my words and read my lips.

Pad Thai with Chicken Pad Thai with Vegetables Pad Thai with Prawns Pad Thai taste so good here. Curry this, Curry that, Curry Yellow, Curry Green, Curry spicy light me on fire, Why didn’t I order a Thai tea prior? I would walk by this place every morning on the way to work, it was always closed because I would walk by at 6am. I finally had a day off and decided to try it after reading the many Unilocal reviews, hearing the mixed feelings from friends, and looking at the menu as I would wait for the 28 outbound bus. I’m glad I tried the food here because I think it may be my new lunch spot throughout the year on days off! SERVICE: Impeccable. Friendly. The waiter made sure that the cook would only cook the food with half the amount of oil normally used for making the Pad Thai. I like my rice noodles to be less crispy sometimes. ATMOSPHERE: If I ever go on a date, I would bring a date here OR come here with a small group of friends and family. UNTILNEXTTIME!

Craving some good ol’ Thai food, I discovered a hole-in-the-wall place nearby by the same name as my old stomping grounds in Marin, Lanna Thai. I obviously had to give it a try and compare it to what I remember. I ordered their Friday combo with Pad Thai and mussamun curry, which at under $ 10, is an amazing deal. My girlfriend got their egg noodles with Panang curry. Both dishes had great flavor, though perhaps a tad on the sweet side. There’s tons of dishes to choose from and they all look good. I really enjoyed the variety of the combo and it was exactly what I wanted on the chilly evening. I look forward to going back many times! Service was very friendly and, evening with the one big party in the restaurant, we still got good service. The prices are just right and the food is delicious. Along with King of Thai Noodles, it’s my new go-to Thai places in the city. Food: 7⁄10 Service: 7⁄10 Price: $ Atmosphere: 7⁄10
