Best homemade donuts in SF by far! I’ve also tried Bob’s donuts i’d say this is better and/or as good for some people! It has a fluffy less greasy texture, not too sweet glaze, perfect for personal cravings or as a group snack! I highly recommend trying everything when you have the chance. Buy a dozen assorted, don’t leave out the maple bacon, chocolate glazed, maple bar, original glazed!

I have been dying to try TDC’s maple baconpeño donut and I finally made a trip specifically for these donuts last Sunday. I probably got a little too excited, but I ordered a full dozen of donuts to share and to have for breakfast the next day. Here’s what I ordered: –5x Maple Baconpeño: DELICIOUS. The best donuts of the entire bunch! The donut is soft and not too bready and I appreciate the bacon and jalapeño pieces throughout since you get pieces in every bite. I just wish there could be more jalapeño pieces. No regrets ordering 5 of these bad boys. –Cookies & Cream Bar: This was essentially a dessert donut. The chocolate donut bar was the bun with whipped cream and Oreos in middle. Good, but probably wouldn’t get again because it was too sweet for me. –Granola Donut: Donut with vanilla icing, granola bits, and chocolate chips. Good, but not my favorite. –Bear Claw: MASSIVE but kind of cute because of the shape. It’s filled with apple pie filling so it’s like a glazed donut pie. Would get again. –Cinnamon Bun: Not really a cinnamon bun, but a huge sticky bun with some cinnamon. Good and simple. –Gummy Bear Donut: SOCUTE! Vanilla icing with a ring of gummy bears. Texturally strange, but the taste is not bad. –Jelly Donut: I did not try this but I am told it was good. –50 cent cream puffs: Bite sized whipped cream bites. Not bad. I would get these again if I were in the mood. Overall, great donut shop. I would definitely go back for the maple baconpeño alone!

Umm hello? Jalapeño maple bacon donut? OMG. Personally. i’m not a big donut fan. BUT if you’re into that whole fancy, smancy donut craze, then you would really appreciate the donuts here. My friends loved the jalapeño donut. Why the four stars if i don’t even like donuts? Well my friends, this little joint makes one of the best cups of ice coffee in the sunset that i’ve had. The icing on the cake? Instead of regular ice cubes, they use coffee ice cubes to keep your drink cold and refreshing without diluting that baby. Oh and a medium/pretty giant size cup is only $ 2. Where else would you find that in the city?

Donuts are one of my weaknesses. I always look for the best donut shops when I travel and I love them so much that they become my carry-on items when I fly home! Luckily, SF has some pretty decent donut shops and Twisted Donuts is definitely one of them. Twisted is a neighborhood spot with a homey feel. The service is friendly and personable and the prices are amazing! It’s rare to find fresh quality donuts at chain store prices, but the $ 1 donut still lives on here! They also have fun picks like the maple bacon jalapeño donut! Favorites: 1) Blueberry donuts(and blueberry donut holes) 2) Donut holes stuffed w/cream 3) Old-fashioned chocolate 4) Apple fritter And to top it all off? Their iced coffee is made with COFFEEICECUBES. Suck on that hipster coffee shops!

Stumbled upon this spot while dropping my car off for some work. The place smelled so delicious we had to stop in! Right off the bat, their customer service was phenomenal!(it’s why I decided to review them). The person working, who I am assuming is the owner, made us feel at home. We got the cinnamon bun, a long john, and a Pb&J glazed donut sandwich. My god they were awesome. I’m not usually in this neighborhood but next time I am you best believe I will be back!

I’ve been to this spot a number of times now(exactly 25 times now based on my stamp card, but who’s counting right?). Needless to say, I’m a fan of what they do. Legit, tasty donuts with a wide variety of options to chose from and some of the absolute best cream puffs I’ve ever had. Now, I’m a sucker for donuts, so there was a high chance I was going to love this spot from the gecko. BUT, I know my donuts and I can definitely vouch for these bad boys. What really makes this place special is that they have incredibly friendly staff. The lady(presumably the owner) is sweet and kind and always helps out when you don’t know what you want. They also have a huge selection of coffee(check out my picture), and as a die hard coffee addict it’s refreshing to see the amount of pours they have. When it’s all said and done, a deserving place to be named one of the best spots for donuts in SF. Come check them out.

I came too late on a Saturday afternoon(I think around 3pm), and they were already sold out of their famous Blueberry donuts by that time(along with a lot of other donuts). The moral of the story is– come early if you want something specific! From Top L to R: Chocolate Raised(w/White Chocolate Chips, Granola), Bacon Maple Glazed Donut, Apple Fritter, Cream Puff [ : The favorite was surprisingly the chocolate raised. I thought the combination of toppings would be too sweet, but it worked really well with the chewy and fluffy donut. I’ll definitely have to come back to try their regular glazed raised donuts. The bacon maple was good, but doesn’t live up to the hype– I feel like I’ve had better versions elsewhere. There need more maple flavor, or something. The apple fritter was good, but again, not amazing, and same with the cream puff. The only donut I would get again is the chocolate raised, but I will definitely be back to try the blueberry donut and try other flavors! The staff here is friendly, and the most difficult part about coming here will be the parking, since there isn’t a lot of street parking available.

Not too over the top like the one in another state LOL Had the weekend special S’mores. Chocolate raised with mini marshmallows and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. The lady will ‘torch’ it to make it resemble«s’mores«. My son tried the bacon one and liked it. Lots of bacon topped on chocolate raised. Lots of choices. Try one if you’re in the area.

Really glad my boyfriend showed me this place. It’s so close to where I live and I never knew it was there! When I went I got a coconut donut and a maple bar and both were super fresh and yummy, especially the coconut one! Definitely going to go back next time I want donuts :)

Hipster and traditional donuts coexist in this small, yet popular Twisted Donuts & Coffee shop in the Outer Sunset district. Maple bacon seems to be a popular flavor, so I had to try it for myself. Typically maple-flavored anything tends to be too sweet for me, but the bacon really helped tone the sweetness down by balancing it with yummy savory goodness. I mean, who doesn’t love bacon? Another popular flavor here is the blueberry donut. I enjoyed how this one had a more dense but still fluffy cake-like texture. There’s real blueberries mixed into the batter and the minimal outer sugar syrup coating added just a little sweetness. The owner, Jenny, is really sweet. Monday promotion is buy 3 get 1 free deal, and they usually have specialty flavors on the weekends. I don’t consider myself a donut person, but Twisted is worth revisiting if I have cravings.

I was so excited when I read Thrillist this morning and there run down of the best doughnuts in SF included a place in the Sunset that I never even knew existed. So this morning I headed there straight away. It is a small shop with a small selection of traditional doughnut shop offerings. I picked a cake doughnut with orange icing. The orange icing was very nice but the cake doughnut itself was heavy and dry. It was of the type of doughnut that leaves a coating of fat or grease in your mouth. It was just $ 1 and really was of that caliber. Up there on a list with the likes of Dynamo and Mr. Holmes Bakehouse… I don’t see how…

Twisted donuts??? Not only I live by this place, but I also saw it in the top 10 donut shops in sf, smh what is this list based on? I’m not a donut aficionado by any means, however from time to time I do enjoy a ham and cheese croissant. Once you get to twisted donuts, you see their awesome sign that looks like it’s a shop out of the Simpson’s. They definitely have a big variety of donuts and croissants, I have tried the croissants with turkey and cheese, ham and chees, ham cheese and jalapenos, as far as donuts I had one of the one with Bavarian cream and the peanut butter and jelly donut. I must say the Bavarian cream itself it’s great, however I’m not too impressed with the donut a little to dense for me, same complaint with the penut butter and jelly donut. As for the croissants they are great, my only complaint is they warm it up in a microwave and not an oven :(, I don’t mind paying over $ 4 for a croissant but I’d like the consistency to stay the same. O and by the way the selection of coffee is great. I’m definitely coming back since I walk my dog this way every morning, however the price to quality is a bit off, hopefully they’ll work out the kinks.

Oh. twisted! The cool-looking exterior of this place and the Unilocal reviews is what drew me in. Unfortunately that was as good as it got. The service was friendly, which I always appreciate. So far. so good. Their variety of specialty donuts were so-so. I chose three because I can never try just one. Every single donut I tasted was extremely dry and tasted a day or two old. The New Years special was the champagne donut, which left a horrible taste in my mouth. It was an extremely dry old fashioned donut with some flavorless frosting. Now I don’t mind paying up to $ 4 a donut, but I expect good quality donuts if I do. These were extremely overpriced for the quality of donuts. I finished these donuts disappointed and wishing that I had made the trek over to Dynamo Donuts instead.

Woo hoo! This place was open on Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day! The plain doughnut and the blueberry cake doughnut were delicious. Both had a light fluffiness to them, almost spongelike. The chocolate with sprinkles and the blueberry were on the sweeter side but they were so good. I liked the cream puff too. There’s an assortment of things to try. I’ll certainly be back. Street parking only.

Great donut shop in the Sunset! The lady was super friendly and really helpful when we were asking about the different types of donuts here. They have different types of pre-brewed coffees on the left side and have creamers in the fridge. They take credit card here but there’s a $ 7 minimum. Overall, the donuts here are good and super friendly staff. Pros: –Great donuts –Friendly staff Cons: -$ 7 minimum for credit cards

I’ve been checking out Twisted from afar on Instagram for the last year. I’m a donut fan, but only in moderation. Finally, this past Sunday, my SO and I headed out to Outer Sunset to check out the temptatious donuts that I’ve been drooling over. The minute we walked in, the cashier was so friendly and helpful. He gave honest recommendations. From blueberry, crème puffs, nutella furritos, and oreo filled donuts, there was quite a selection to choose from. Note that they only have the special menu on the weekends, and standard donuts during the week. We ordered the PB& J donut(my SO loved this) and the maple bacon donut sans jalapeños, as I’m indeed a sucker for bacon. I’ve had the dynamo donut version, and was torn at which one I thought was better. They do have larger pieces of bacon and the donut was bigger overall with more air in the donut and not as dense. I almost went for the nutella furrito, but this isn’t a donut. It has a crispy wrap. Though I may try that one in the future because how can you say«no» each time to nutella? We ate these two donuts in the shop along with a cup of coffee. Donuts were fresh. Standard coffee with a number of flavors to choose from but no speciality espresso drinks. We also ordered a few blueberry donut holes and a crème puff. Note we could not eat this all in one sitting and still have a few more to go(it’s the next day). Great place to try creative, tasty donuts on the weekends. If you follow them on social media, they generally announce the type of donuts they will offer in advance.

An awesome donut place in the Outer Sunset. I am a big fan of the Outer Sunset, and I think it’s such an underrated place in the city! My friends and I stopped here one morning for donuts and coffee before a road trip. We got iced coffees, and we loved the coffee ice cubes in them! I got a regular glazed donut and a blueberry one, and my friend got a cream-filled one. They were fresh, and the coffee was nice and strong. Definitely a must-come-back place.

It’s painful for me to give Twisted Donuts and Coffee a mere 3-star review because everything I set eyes on in the shop looked so promising and the staff is always so friendly. Unfortunately, I found that everything I’ve tried was a little too sweet and dense for my taste. Here’s what I’ve tried: — ‘Smores donut: I should’ve known that it was going to be too sweet, but I simply can’t pass up anything that with chocolate and marshmallow on top of it! — Donut holes(blueberry, powdered, sprinkles): I was so disappointed by how dense and dry they were. I love my donut holes and it’s so rare to find anything to complain about! — Donut with pink(strawberry?) glaze and sprinkles: This was probably my favorite thing from Twisted Donuts It’s a shame, because Twisted Donuts could’ve, would’ve and should’ve been my new go to donut spot.

Moist and delicious. Not super light, but not too dense. Frosting was good, I got the One with orange frosting(without sprinkles). The maple bacon looked enticing enough, but I’d never had an orange frosted donut before. The place is clean and everything seems fresh. Sweet, enthusiastic lady behind the counter really wanted us to take advantage of the Monday deal: buy three get one free, but we insisted that we only wanted two. Verdict: I would definitely go back back for more. Easily deserves 4.5 rating, maybe even a 5.

This is a neat donut spot. It has the classic donut shop touch, but also has a touch of modernism. I felt bad because only one lady was working when I visited, but she was hustling so thank goodness. Luckily in the morning Noriega is pretty dead and close to none of the nearby restaurants are even open yet so parking should be easy! The donut selection is made up of traditional and unique options. I went with the former and got two cake donuts, one blueberry and one maple topped with nuts. I’ve never had a blueberry donut until today and I am not opposed to trying it again in the future. Both donuts were very tasty, soft, and fills you up quickly. I like how they don’t have all the fancy schmancy coffee drinks and resembles a traditional donut shop, you come here for coffee and donuts. The beverages consist of your typical juices and sodas in the fridge and hot/iced coffee. The coffee section is set up well and there was about 6 choices. All looked exotic and promising.
