Salon De Annie

Happy I discovered this salon that offers organic hair coloring! All I wanted was to cover all my incoming grays with my natural hair color and Ying did a very nice job on doing so. Finally, no irritating & itchy feeling whenever I get my hair colored & the price was affordable.

I come to this place every year or two when I’ve decided I’ve had enough of my long hair. I came in and requested an asymmetrical bob cut (one side short, one side long like Rihanna back in the days lol). I parted my hair quickly and she put the apron on me. She got to work and I was pleased with what I saw, BUT she did not help me find my natural part… The part that she kept using as a reference was so far down my scalp. Two days later, I am finding large and long bunched strands on the short side of the cut. I came here before and another assistant helped me find my natural part and considered if my hair were to move around, it would still look natural and I never had to fix it. Now I am snipping it off myself.
Lastly, when I went to pay, it was $ 18 for the styled cut. I gave her a $ 20 and she said «Thank you. Bye.» She didn’t give me the change back and I knew it was tip, but I was trying to ask how much do people usually tip because I have only been to a salon ~6 times in my 23 years of life, and she kept shooing me away, «Ok –bye!» I was going to give her two more dollars because I thought it was courtesy to give $ 5? I have no idea, but I’m glad I didn’t…

I wanted some aqua blue hair and the lady mixed some green and navy blue dye, which she applied. She did this specially for me, which was much appreciated. I loved the end result! The only problem was that it took 3 hours, and their was barely anyone there. She does charge more if your hair is thicker. The cost was $ 125, but she recommends buying the special shampoo, another $ 90. It wasn’t too pricey so that’s a bonus. I think I would come back again, they are pretty nice. If you come with your hair pre-​bleached it’s only 90 dollars for the bluish highlights, or any color highlights.

I love my hair! I came to this salon based on asking strangers with purple and blue hair where they got their hair did. It was my first time bleaching and dying my hair so I was a bit nervous. The owner, Annie, and Ying were patient with me as I explained what I wanted and gave me suggestions as to what will work or not work. They even gave me tips on how to take care of it after wards. I’ll definitely be back in a few months for touch ups!

I’ve gotten my hair cut ($ 14 + tip) here three times so far and the fade was on point (I.e perfect) each time. I usually drop in around 6pm on weekdays and there’s hardly ever a wait. Annie and her daughter are both super nice and I’m hoping they’re starting to remember me by now.
Parking isn’t great in the area but the J Line is a block off. The salon is also conveniently located by TONS of restaurants and businesses which makes dropping in extra convenient.
Nuff said — Salon De Annie is a solid place to get cleaned up with a reasonable price point.

Called in ahead of time. Annie is the superstar of the salon, as evidenced by all of her reviews. There was another employee there, as well. Annie was very focused and asked me what I thought of my hair several times throughout the cutting. $ 14 for a haircut without tip. Couldn’t ask for more.

A customer since I was in grade school, now I’m a grown woman who still trusts and admires going to this salon. Annie always fits me in to her busy schedule and always makes my hairstyles look amazing! Dedicated to Annie!

I don’t know why there are so many negative reviews:(I’ve come here three times for a haircut, and 100% of the time, I’ve gotten what I wanted because I was specific. (She does a good A-​line bob btw, I’ve gotten one here before) Yesterday, I called in to book an appointment at 1:45, and she was nice enough to squeeze me in at 1:30 because she had someone at 2:00. Very accommodating. I came in and just asked to chop off 2.5 inches and cut some light layers. She did exactly what I wanted for a good price, and I left satisfied. My hair was very long to begin with, and I should have taken a before picture. Usually I’m very picky with my hair salons, but I would come back here again.

This is one of my favorite salons here in the sunset side of Bay Area. One thing that cannot stress more about an asian salon is, they tend to not listen very well. Often times, they will cut more than you ask for and that to me is a deal breaker. Fortunately, it’s not that case here. They listen to you and try to match it as close as possible. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

Annie is great! She spends the time to make sure each strand is perfect!!!
Never again will I go to Maiden Lane and spend $ 75, where they can’t even cut a simple bob straight! I highly recommend anyone who has a simple bob that requires each hair to be perfect, to go to Salon de Annie. You won’t be sorry!!!

Why this place has 4 stars? She just rush through cutting hair even without anyone waiting for her, and totally massacre the hair. My hair ended up uneven, too thin, unbalanced, and missing portions of hair at the top of my head 0₀! I should have just wait for my usually salon’s operation hours. Anyways, if anyone need a new hairstyle, they should go to Annie lol. Now need to wait for my hair to grow back up

I was looking around to see which place was the best to get a haircut for my son (15mo) and this place was recommend and i wasn’t disappointed. she did a fantastic job and my son loved the toys they had.

This review is not for Annie but for her assistant that did my hair. I walked in to just get a bang trim. I have long, heavy bangs and I asked for a slight trim but still keeping the bangs covering my eyebrows and keeping them blunt. What I got instead was a layered pixie bang job-​basically the complete opposite of what I requested… I’m not sure what the point of telling her what I wanted was especially since at the end she said oh and I just added layers for you too… what?!
Bang trim was only $ 6 and they don’t look terrible but just not at all what I had asked for. Guess I need to stick with my usual $ 10 – 12 bang trims, at least they actually listen to me!

I’ve been a faithful customer of Annie since her days at Salon De Hong Kong, and I intend to remain faithful to her until I’m bald. She’s been the only person I trust to cut my hair and knows exactly how I want it every time. She’s friendly, detail oriented, and knows me by name, all of which are traits I appreciate about her.
I recommend calling ahead of time to schedule an appointment with Annie if you’re in a rush. This will help you avoid having to unnecessarily wait.

She’s quick, skillful, and knows how to execute the style of haircut that I wanted.
She’s a one person show in her spacious Salon so you need to book her early. Even on a weekday, you best make a reservation with her.
I’m glad I found someone affordable to cut my Asian hair. $ 15 cut/​blowdry/​style. $ 13 just for a cut.

Okay, I have to say this was my first time going to Annie, but I am so happy with my results that I have to write a review. First, I must say that I’m kinda «new» to the whole getting my hair did. I have pitch black hair! So, I asked Annie to do something simple that will compliment my skin tone & she did just that. I also showed her pictures of what I was looking for… She listened & did everything that I asked of her. She even trimmed my hair withOUT complaining. Most places I go to complain that I have SO much hair, but Annie didn’t :)
She’s super friendly & her prices aren’t bad. I have to thank one of my BFF’s for finding her! I’ll definitely be visiting Annie’s Salon again.

I’ve been coming here since Annie left her station at Salon De Hong Kong.
I continue to come back for hair cuts obviously because Annie does a great job and is extremely consistent.
Sadly, my hairline is receding and I’m thinning out quite rapidly. LOL! Annie recognizes that and provides options and advice on what styles best fits the shape of my head and does not highlight my male-​pattern baldness.
I will continue to come back as long as I still have hair to cut and style!

I had been a loyal customer until recently. She was cheap and did what I asked of her. Plus, not many American salons can cut Asian hair well.
Make sure you make an appt when you go to see her. The last time I went I didn’t have an appt and she was rather rude to me. I haven’t gone back since. Being a decent human being can go a long way, cheap Asian hair salons are a dime a dozen so I took my business somewhere else.

i’m pretty satisfied by Annie’s service and skills! i’ve been a regular customer for about 2 or 3 years now so she definitely has earned my trust! The other beauticians are pretty good too! So no worries!
However, there have been times when I have come to the salon with a vision on how my style should look like and not get exactly what I envisioned, but that’s understandable! For the most part, I truly getting my haircuts here! I highly recommend this salon for an affordable styled haircut in San Francisco!
