I just stepped foot out of here for my bi-weekly haircut/me-time/#imsovaintime. It’s only fair, *ahem* since im the duke, to give Lee and Co. a review. Part of success in life is recognizing opportunity when it presents itself and grabbing it by the horns and into the sunset. When you have a good thing; recognize it, capitalize on it, embrace and show gratitude to retain it. This goes for all things: relationships, friendships, jobs and above all, hair salons. At the core of all of our beings, there is a part of us that wants to be liked, seeks acceptance and wants to be pretty. Go ahead; deny it, but its human nature. We live in a shallow society where looks do get you places and feeling great has a mental reward all in itself. That being said, when I find a great salon I recognize it and here is my overdue review of gratitude. Lee can cut a damn good head of hair. When walking by, it looks like another Chinatown-cheap-haircut-whatever place but I can assure you it isn’t. a) Im not Chinese b) Neither is Lee c) Not all of her clients are Chinese Mindblown yet? To be fair, make an appointment. The lady, typically after 4, gets swamped. For good measure, make it a few days in advance. trust me. If youre ever so fortunate like myself and can come here on lunch, at least pop in and ASK if she can take you as a walk in. more times than not, she is available but she also has a full appointment book so it is just respectful to ask. Also, KNOWWHATYOUWANT. My haircut is pretty simple; she trims and sides and top, pays attention to details and will go the extra mile to make sure it is flawless… unlike other Chinatown spots where theyre just worried about getting you in and out to free up the chair for the next victim. I have even had to wait 10 min into my appointment to go over details on a clients cut. That is service and I know she would’ve done the same for me. Lastly, shes cheap. For under $ 20, you can get a great cut with a nice tip included which for SF, is kind of a steal; bonus if she has her cute boo-looking pom running around, its fkn adorable and almost worth the visit in itself. Lee is an awesome person and absolutely an asset to the neighborhood. The cut is above average with below standard pricing. Now lets wash those Chinatown stereotypes away. Wooosahhhh.

Used their services for the 1st time. HAIR I asked the owner to do several things to my hair, and because of previous bad experiences I asked she do them a certain way. She had a long discussion with me explaining other ways she accomplishes the same thing and insisted I trust her. End result came out nice, she took her time, but the color wasn’t as strong as I had wanted it. NAILS Tina did a full set and french tips. After 2TWO days, the acrylic started lifting! not because my hands are in water alot, I use gloves for dishes
