I have worked with Susie for over 5 years now. She leased my apartment to excellent tenants when I moved from SF- and again during the pandemic - all done remotely. All tenants have been responsible, easygoing and each has left the apartment in good condition. She gave great direction on marketing materials and listing advice as she really has her finger on the pulse in the marketplace and is also up to date on landlord / tenants rights and rules. Additionally managed the application process with professionalism and guidance with her deep experience. She goes above and beyond! I will work with her again and again.

I tried to reach out to Linda Harrison multiple times past week in order to talk about one of her properties. After calling her 10 times then emailing her, someone named Ellen Anderson got back to inform me that they already got offers today and something was accepted. So I had no chance to give an offer for the property because they decided to get back to me after the buyer accepted an offer. If you want a realtor who will get back to you on time so you won’t miss the offer date for your dream home, do not work with them.

I have been working with Susie Kurtz from Sotheby’s who not only found a tenant in less than a week but also provided world class customer service. She «rescued» me after a disastrous experience with another real estate agency. I have nothing but praise and respect for Susie and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a highly reliable and professional expert in San Francisco rentals.

I rented a home in the Richmond District with Susie Kurtz and now I can’t recommend Susie and Sotheby’s enough. Such a smooth and easy experience and such a beautiful and well cared for property. I rented a house with Susie Kurtz and she was absolutely excellent. From the time of the first showing till closing she handled everything prompt and professionally. She made the entire experience a breeze and she couldn’t be nicer to work with. I can’t recommend her enough!

My issue is with Ron Hartman — don’t deal with this guy. He is so unethical. He didn’t change his tune until my lawyer contacted him. He violated the terms of my lease agreement (why else would I sign a lease if I didn’t want the landlord to adhere to it?) –but I heard from his sibling this is what he does full time (rental properties) –and FABRICATED an email (like I don’t have friends who have PhD’s in computer sci? how low will this guy go???) hello, one can cut/​paste anything in a «reply to» field of an email — doesn’t mean it was ever sent. (just for funsies, I cut & pasted an email back to him & his co-​owner/​co-​landlord, and changed the time/​date just as he had — one was from the Easter Bunny and the other was from Justin Bieber)
Like the Biebs would send him email. ;)
Plus I changed the date to the year 2050. (hey –we can all «time travel» thanks to the wonders of editing emails…)
Have never dealt with Sotheby’s. Thought they were reputable.

Steve Minchen threatened me with litigation for my negative review of his services. I tried to delete it as he demanded but apparently it did not happen though the Unilocal page said it went through. He is apparently with Pacific Union Realty now and sent me another threatening letter. Let it be noted that I did try to remove the review as he demanded. I have removed any details about our transaction. I do have every right to my opinion that he did not look out for our family and treated us badly.

Jon Taylor was my agent from Sotheby’s.
He tried to sell my penthouse condo and I followed his advice until 3 months went by and we had no serious offers. I even suggested a price reduction after 2 months and he convinced me not to despite the lack of offers.
We took the property off the market for a month (had a baby) and just before we relisted he called me with an ultimatum: «if you don’t lower the price to $…then I can no longer be your agent». We had already planned a price reduction and I was open to further reductions, but it was clear to that Jon had other fish to fry. As it turns out, he had 3 new properties to list (with much higher values than mine) and didn’t have the time for mine.
I have sold 3 properties in the last 10 years and never had an agent give me an ultimatum. It was unprofessional, cold and rude.
Don’t be fooled by Jon’s soft nature, his bottom line is his commision.
He is very successful, but that doesn’t make him a great agent. Maybe if the property was worth more, he would have taken better care of us.
The only reason I gave him 2 stars instead of one is because of his assistant Linda, she’s worth her weight in gold and is top notch.

I recently decided to put my home up for sale. Knowing it was a down market, I thought it would be best to work with people who specialize in luxury properties. I contacted Betty Brachman to see what she could do. As part of her team, Rick Avery listed the property. Everyone I have met within their organization has been honest, ethical and professional. Qualities you don’t easliy find in the RE world.
My property has not sold yet, but it has only been 1 week. But with the amount of effort and professionalism I have seen so far, I doubt my home will be on the market for a long time.
