This place is awesome, and the place to go if you are looking for a really nice housewarming present, or classy gift for someone in your life who likes unique housewares, mostly for kitchen and dining. They’ve got a wide variety of styles, mostly from California artists/craftsmen. It’s hard to imagine you wouldn’t be able to find something for someone special in your life, and while many things are pricy, they’ve got plenty of well priced items in here. The staff is really nice and low pressure, which is good because I often feel pressured to buy in small shops where you are always in sight of the owners. The woman at the counter did show me a few different things that I had missed, which I appreciated. She also made sure to show me some things below 20 dollars, which I thought was nice because I might have felt awkward asking for something cheaper in a more upscale shop like this. Things I saw at Terrestra: a gorgeous range of cloth napkins and unique rings handmade wooden jewelry boxes of different designs colorful teapots and cup sets lovely cutting and cheese boards(many in olive wood) pretty ice cream scoops I ended up buying a tea infuser set in olive wood that had it’s own stand(45 dollars). The woman at the counter gift wrapped it for me for my grandmother, and did a lovely job. Would definitely seek this place out again next time I need a gift for my foodie family, even though I don’t live close to here.

This might be the best-curated shop for housewares and gifts in San Francisco. It is my first stop for every anniversary, every birthday, every Father’s Day for my husband and housewarming for friends: most of us are cooks, and all of us appreciate good design. Every single item here is both lovely and thoughtfully designed. Their buyers must be amazing. Each separate collection of housewares and accessories is individually special, yet they all flow together beautifully. New additions(like the Simon Pearce line) fit perfectly with store standards(like the beautiful leather goods along the back walls). And they’re often things you just can’t find anywhere else. We love, and are still using, all of our Terrestra items. They’re designed to last for many years, and they do. Our Simon Pearce glass bowl and Heath covered casserole are in constant use, as is the wine aerator I gave my husband for the«steel» anniversary(11 years!). My Mom still wears her painted-silk scarf and African seed-bead necklaces. I am so grateful that all of this beauty is within walking distance. Come to Terrestra when you know you’re ready to buy. You probably won’t need to go anywhere else — I never do. It’s a small place, but all the good stuff is here.

I didn’t buy anything but I liked seeing that they sold Chilewich placemats and other assorted yet modern dinner and tableware.

An amazing little shop with a fabulous collection of gorgeous contemporary(many local and many also Danish/Swedish) pieces ranging from colorful leather wallets/purses/iPad cases, to beautiful crystal, fantastic wood and stainless steel accessories including wine and tea accessories and everything you could want for your table. I stumbled into it by accident and spent over an hour there, walking out with some beautiful things. The owner(she and her husband doing all the buying) has impeccable taste. She couldn’t have been more helpful and I will most definitely be back… beautiful, beautiful things… I could have spent many hundreds of dollars more…

So, snubbing is still snubbing, whether it’s obvious or done subtly. Get that? Good. This review is for the caucasian/white saleswoman who was there with an Asian saleswoman when I came into your shop for the first time last week after my doctor’s appointment at CPMC. I don’t care if you have lots of «regular» house-wife types who come into your store all the time. You WILL treat me with that same warmth, respect and candor or you can expect I’ll be telling more of my friends exactly how poorly I felt I was treated by you. You were condescending and altogether non-welcoming AFTER I witnessed you kowtowing to said housewife. I won’t be back. I will, instead, be telling people to buy the unimaginative, over-priced items you had in this shop ONLINEINSTEAD.

This was a spectacular local business to register at. I was first hooked by their wonderful provençal plates, and my fiancé was quickly convinced once he took a look at the beautiful japanese sake glasses, several of which he insisted on buying *before* the wedding. They really have fantastic taste, so you can’t go wrong, and your registry is personally managed by the owner, so you are very well taken care of here. The prices I think are reasonable for the excellent quality, and best of all, they have great items that I have not found at any other store. Five Stars!

If I could afford it, I would buy everything in this store. Fabulous serving platters and dinnerware. I want it all! I don’t even like salad, but I want all their fabulous wood salad bowls. Everything is contemporary chic, but also very elegant and rustic. How can that be? Great little store for housewarming gifts.

This is a fantastic little shop. You know how a lot of artsy stores that carry pottery, local jewelry and other crafts have that funky hippie feel? Not so here. It’s a modern and warm shop that carries some really great pottery pieces, vases to dinnerware. The colors are amazing ranging from zen to eye catching. Heath is one of my favorite lines of stoneware out there. Such lovely and elegant shapes with that touch of rustic to it. Besides tableware they also carry jewelry, some leather goods, hand painted silk scarves and glassware. I’m looking forward to many little trips here for gifts.
