I tried the melt at the jack of all grades at jack London sq. Delish! Awesome bread and we all got different sandwiches and we all loved them. Wish they had one in Napa. Next time We are in s. f Stalking this truck! Highly recomended.

Filling and greasy cheese melt, oh my! Parked on the curb of stones town mall to catch your eye. I tried«the classic» with their«tomato basil soup.» It was toasted but it wasn’t so outstanding that it would make me holler or hoot. The soup also had chunks of tomato but was salty and both were on the pricey side. After all, its just cheese and bread that they serve out of a truck without tables or chairs outside.

I tried the food trucks today-they come to Bishop Ranch in San Ramon, CA from 11am-2pm on Wednesdays and switch up which buildings they are parked in front of for the day. I tried the Mac Daddy with tomato soup. The Mac Daddy has mac and cheese in between the two pieces of sourdough. Dip that in the tomato-so good. Portions are a good size-I don’t feel like I am overstuffed(which normally happens when I eat). They have a lot of extras you can add to your grilled cheese-Portabello mushrooms(curious to try that next time), bacon, turkey, extra cheese if you want :) Not terribly greasy-just enough to help soak in the flavors. They didn’t take too long to make-probably waited 5 – 10 minutes for the food. Oh and my favorite part was that the truck looked like a school bus and is called the«Melt Bus.» Adorbs. Childhood comfort foods all coming back.

I came here for lunch one afternoon. Since I come to the mall often, I never see the truck parked in the same spot each time. I decided to give this place a try. I got the Italian job with a cup of two tomato basil soup. I should mention I’m a fairly large man with a giant petite, and unfortunately, the meal is not big enough to fill me up. The sandwich is essentially just garlic bread with cheese, and the soup, while tasty, was piping hot. If you’re coming here starving or very hungry, I’d suggest the meat sandwich with a bowl of soup or a soup with meat in it. It’s a quaint little mobile setup they have, kind of like a quasi food-truck mobile restaurant. It’s pricey for what you get, taste and portions wise.

The grilled cheese is satisfying: the bread is toasty and the cheese is melty. BUT The Italian Job could be a tad more garlicky and have butter on both sides of the sandwich. The sandwich comes with half of a pickle — nice! The soft serve is a delicious vanilla; however, I ordered my cone with a chocoshell and I got an upside down mess in a cup with a spoon and NOT an upright vanilla cone with a chocoshell(sad face).

I love grilled cheese sandwiches… I have a lot of great beginning in my childhood having grilled cheese sandwiches… Happened to be at the Corte Madera Village Shopping Center when the Melt truck was there. I ordered the classic cheese on multi grain bread. Not mind blowing but the quality of the multi grain bred was first rate. I usually make them with lots of butter and onions… which makes them extra fatty but oh so tasty. Next time I’ll be more daring and try one of their other sandwiches. Lots of choices including desserts! Staff is very very friendly and not overwhelmed by the long line.

Price was excellent. $ 5 for a melt is perfect. I got«The Italian Job» with bacon, it was decent, hardly any bacon, maybe 2 pieces. The garlic bread had way too much garlic. I’ve had better melts down in San Jose. With that said I wish they has more variety, I will definelty come back when I’m in town again.

Their grilled cheese sandwiches are okay. Not the greatest, but how can you go wrong with a grilled cheese sandwich? They’re parked right outside Stonestown mall — so it’s convenient if you’re at the mall. It was satisfying and I just was craving a grilled cheese sandwich. The dessert sandwiches though — the chocolate marshmallow… sound better than they tasted. Probably because once the marshmallow cools — it because somewhat hard to chew in your mouth. Service was friendly and fast.

Wow. This place makes a REALLY good grilled cheese sandwich. On my way out of Stonestown today I decided to take a look at The Melt’s menu — I try to make a point not to come to this mall very much anymore during my breaks between classes because it can be a money pit, so I hadn’t seen The Melt here before. When I saw The Mission — pepperjack and jalapenos on sourdough — I knew that was going to be the one for me. I added carved turkey for an extra $ 2 and got a bottle of iced tea on the side. The girl who took my order was super friendly, and my sandwich came really fast. I couldn’t get enough of that thing once I took the first bite; the flavors went really well together, and the seasoned sourdough was such a nice compliment. My only complaint? Half of my sandwich was kinda ruined because they include half a dill pickle on the side, but it was stuck to the bottom of half of my sandwich, and I hate pickles. Gave it a bit of a pickle flavor that I wasn’t digging so I didn’t get to finish part of it. But aside from that? Honestly one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. At nine bucks for a sandwich and a drink, that’s a little pricey, but the quality is well worth it, and if I hadn’t added the turkey it would’ve been seven bucks. If this truck is here again, I’ll most definitely be getting another of this sandwich.

There’s just something I dont like about grilled cheese. Maybe its my terrible experiences with pre-packaged, microwaved grilled cheese sandwiches in elementary school. This place however, is good. Their weekly flavors always catch my eye as well. I had to give in when I saw the mac and cheese sandwich. I love mac and cheese, given it isn’t the most delicious dish, I couldn’t just walk by. It was simple, yet filling. Plus it was surprisingly better than I had thought. I still can’t say grilled cheese is my favorite, but hey I gave it a shot.

The Melt’s Italian Job is in competition with Bell’s telephone, the Wright Brothers’ airplane, and Jobs’ iPod for the most revolutionary invention in recorded history. Delighting in the amazing simplicity yet innovation shown through incorporating garlic bread into a grilled cheese sandwich is only overshadowed by the excitement of gaining lifelong knowledge of how to upgrade homemade sandwiches. Providing a great on-the-go option, the Italian Job’s melted cheeses and optional free bacon(free bacon is the best sandwich add-on available on earth) are wholly encased in the pungent, crispy yet chewy slices of garlic bread. The inevitable saltiness is easily washed away by an accompanying soda. $ 5 per sandwich is too costly for frequent returns, but I will forever be indebted to The Melt for its revealing use of garlic bread in grilled cheese sandwich making.

Today I was at the Stonestown Mall and I noticed this food truck on my way back to my car. I ordered the special, mac n cheese melt with tomato soup. The whole meal came in under 5 minutes with chips and a decent sized pickle. The grilled cheese was friggin awesome and I hope it becomes part of the regular menu. Dunking everything in the soup made the food that much better. Definitely going back and highly recommended if you’re in the area.

Been craving a grilled cheese sandwich for days. Headed into SF for a haircut when I spot the Melt Truck parked in the Civic Center. Circled around and parked. Checked out the menu, chose the special of the week, The Dirty. Grilled sourdough with cheddar, bacon, tomato, jalapeño. The sandwich came out quickly, bonus. There was something sprinkled on the bread, garlic salt w/parsley maybe? The sandwich was just OK. I was surprised that the ingredients were all chopped vs sliced. I expected slices of bacon and tomato. Didn’t notice any jalapeño in the sandwich at all. Maybe the Parisian is the way to go, as other reviewers suggest. Next time I’m craving a grilled cheese sandwich, I’ll stick with Outerlands.

Some more. March towards 500 locations continues: With multiple spots downtown and a fleet of buses Jonathan Kaplan looks to one day deliver on his audacious goal. Well done sir. He’ll get there with simple and delicious sandwiches like the Parisian melt with brie over apples and honey on French bread. Well priced(less than $ 5) and quickly made. Unfortunately the S’mores melt was disappointing. Nowhere near as much chocolate or marshmallow as the photo on their website. Add a little more of everything and Melt will be a step closer to more stars.

Ordered sandwiches for myself and for a friend because we were in a rush to get something quick. Didn’t really think about it until later but these sandwiches are pretty expensive for what they are. I ordered a Parisian Melt(brie and apple butter) and my friend got the traditional American one(sharp cheddar). Both are good. I haven’t had the original branch sandwiches in a long time, but I remember liking the sandwiches I got from there more than I did from the truck. Anyway, not a terrible place. Fast food for sure but I would choose this over McDonalds.

Tried this today cause it was freezing & what sounds better than a grilled cheese with soup?! Anything besides grilled cheese with soup. Just kidding! The food was decent here, I expected a bit more though. I got the Italian Job combo, since I asked the cashier what was the most popular there. The grilled cheese came with bacon & tomatoes in it for free! But they were kind of skimpy on the bacon. The soup itself looked odd… I wish it was smoother & creamier looking. I thought there was gonna be like little cubed sausages or something in the soup also, & there wasn’t. That made me sad. I didn’t know the combo came with kettle chips. I ended up dipping it it the soup, & if ya do it just right, it tastes like pizza! I don’t think this was worth my $ 10, possibly $ 7, maybe $ 8, but not $ 10. But I’m definitely coming back, just to try something different because I honestly want to like this food truck! Especially since winter’s comin up. I wish this combo came with a drink, since I paid $ 10 for it! & the choice of chips or fruit or dessert instead as a side.

The sandwiches are great, the soups suck and the chips are salty as hell. Been here a couple times and really like the garlic bread grilled cheese with bacon and tomato. I’ve also had the italian sausage pepper soup and the creamy mushroom soup, they both sucked. Chips are good but wish they held back on salt. I’m happy that they are at Stonestown. Food choices have always been limited at this mall so it’s a welcomed addition.

Reasonably priced sandwich soup combos! Got the Parisian. Not too bad. Don’t know if it was the best combo, but the soup and sandwich individually were good. Tried to tip, but she said it was all going to go to a charity which was really nice. Overall, I’d go back to try a different combo!

Grilled cheese sandwiches and soup on the go?! OHYES 3 words: The Italian Job A grilled cheese with garlic bread! Why have I never thought of this before?! The Italian Sausage & Pepper soup was excellent too. My friend kept commenting on how flavorful it was. Honestly, all of the sandwiches sound good, so I will definitely go back soon. Sorry I just love cheese so much.

This is the second The Melt that I have been to this week. I like the concept but I find it odd that they feature the order online option, but both locations I visited had their QR code reader out of order. Get it together! The food is decent — delicious variety of grilled cheese with dip-able soups. I recommend The Mission. It is a little spicy with the Jalapeño Pepper Jack but the Sweet Corn Tortilla(what tortillas) soup cools it down. Parking sucks ass at this food truck location — so buyer beware. If you happen to be at the mall already — then head over here for some delicious comfort food.
