Aj’s Deli Cafe

If I am ever in San Jose I ll make a stop by AJ’s café. Love their light and delicious menu.

This place is amazing. The burgers are great it is a clean nice and profesionall staff i love this place i go by every time i can. I recommend this place to everyone

Walked by this place during my lunch break and decided to grab a bite from here. Place is clean and although there were others, it was quiet. Also, can I just say how awesome the customer service is?! I ordered chicken pesto panini and it was pretty good. The owner, I’m assuming, just told me to have a seat and he brought it out to my table. He told me to pay when I’m finish with my meal. How awesome is that?! I didn’t feel rushed either. Although I didn’t need them, he brought out condiments to my table. I heard the hot dogs were good so I have to try it next time I come back here, amongst other things.

This place is really good I got the cheeseburger special. The two guys working were extremely nice and great customer service. If and when I’m downtown again I will definitely stop by. Great experience. Thank you. You hardly fined great service and great food!

While I’m no hot-​dog aficionado, the dog I had here is the best I can ever remember having eaten. The interior is charming and the owner is very personable and lax as well.

I go to Aj’s whenever I am in downtown and want to treat myself with a good hot dog or when I want to grab something on my way to San Jose Sharks games in SAP.
Their panini is also great. I will have to try their stake sandwich which seems to be liked by other reviewers. The price is very reasonable and finding a parking is easy since there is a parking garage next to it.

Aj is a nice guy, and the food is decent. There’s nothing wrong with his hot dogs and sandwiches. However, his sandwiches are overpriced for the amount of actual stuff you get, and aren’t any better than going to safeway and buying the cold ingredients yourself and assembling — for probably 10 times more sandwiches and the same price.

My GF and I and our 2 friends were in town for Fanime at the SJ convention center and we stumbled upon this eatery. First off, we were greeted by a very friendly, warm guy behind the counter… I think he was the owner. and we all ordered Cheese burgers with the blue cheese. The burgers were amazing! HOT, fresh. cooked to perfection. lettuce tomatoe, onions. YUMM! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Its clean, very cozy. My GF and I live in Monterey and are tempted to drive back to AJ’s just to try the other items on the menu! Everything looks incredibly good. I highly recommend this eatery to anyone looking for a GREAT, classic burger that wont break your wallet. Awesome job AJ’s!
P.S…I keep hearing about how awesome the hotdogs and pizza are here!

Great food for a great price. It’s hard to find good food this close to the convention center, but I would definitely recommend this place. The owner and staff are very friendly. Great for grabbing a bite to eat in between convention events!

I’m transferring this review from the old AJ’s since it’s the same biz, just a new name with a bigger menu:
Good dog, great business. Bless this guy’s heart for staying here until like…2am to feed all of the drunks that come out of the club.
We actually ate here BEFORE we went dancing because the «Blue Chip» or whatever it’s called that’s downstairs is just really weird… awkward. We got a chili cheese dog and it was good! I like the buns and the cheese that he uses… not your average stuff. Next time I’ll have to try the Chicago dog.
Oh, yeah, I almost forgot! Seasoned potato wedges! YUM, those were good.

Ok Subway is a total racket I tell you come to AJ’s for Real Real. Really superb cuts of meat and honestly cut tomatoes (not paper thin). Hot fresh bread not some manufactured bread that may contain something other than wheat. Oh and real hot sauce !
I popped in here when I was doing errands and needed to grab and go. They were on their game with a customer service and great suggestion so I came back to actually sit down and eat and boy I was stuffed.
Totally worth five stars but they are all married so no hot waiters ! :)
I will probably order catering in the future :)

This is by far my favorite deli in San Jose down town. Roast beef on a french roll
And may other goodies .
