I like this place overall but today I ordered a 24 egg roll party tray to go and was extremely disappointed. They put significantly LESS meat in the egg rolls they make for the party tray than the individual ones they sell at the store. It was mostly ALL vegetables and almost no pork. I’ll never order a party tray again… lesson learned.

We usually come here when we want fast food and we’re in san jose. BF likes their egg roll, and I like most of the food they have. Fresh and tasty! this past weekend, i brought my parents over since I was doing my taxes in san jose, and they like the food here too! The food here is better than Panda express.

Ordered 50 egg rolls the morning of our birthday party. Although people warned us that this location was a bit slow and orders are typically not ready, ours was!

I’ve been to king eggroll many times in the last 10 years. Food quality has been going down over the years, while the prices go up. I thought they had the best eggrolls here, and don’t get me wrong, they are still good, but not like they used to make them. The process to order food there is a pain, and the ladies behind the counter aren’t NOT nice.

I usually don’t dine in here but it’s usually always busy and there’s no parking. If you’re from SJ, you know about King Eggroll because at Asian parties or potlucks, someone probably bought a tray or two from this place. They do take phone orders but make sure to give them enough notice. I’m not sure if I just got really lucky but on New Year’s Day I ordered 3 trays over the phone around 7AM and then picked up the food at 8:30AM no problem. The food is pretty consistent and tasty if you’re into all that fried and greasy goodness. The popular orders would be the shrimp balls(my favorite), the eggrolls, sesame balls, and fried chicken. They also have main entrée options such as broccoli beef, sweet & sour pork ribs, mixed vegetables, orange chicken and much more. These are offered in big trays which are great for parties and potlucks and are usually a hit. They do serve food for dine in where you can order at the counter but is typically is crowded so I suggest you take it to go. They also have the hanging peking duck and pig on the other side of the counter, and I usually get a pound or two for my mom when I’m in the area. It is a bit of a challenge communicating with some of the workers but if you’re a veteran of the area, you get it and don’t expect exemplary service, they get the food right and get you in and out as fast as possible.

the egg rolls have changed since the last time I came here over a year ago. there’s less meat than they used to have. it’s still alright, but not great like it used to be. I’ll have to try the other king egg roll on Lundy as I used to go there a lot before as well.

OK I have to admit I live an hour and a half away from this place but oh my yum I love their egg rolls! So worth the drive! We usually buy the parry tray and by the time we get home these tasty bites of yum are still crunchy! Love it!

There’s a different line for ordering and when your food is ready they call you to pay at the register… not very efficient. We only ordered the eggrolls and fried chicken. It took awhile to get our order since they just ran out but good that we got a fresh batch. First off, fried chicken drumstick was pretty good, chicken was very juicy. However the eggroll was not very good. I was expecting more meat but this is more of a Chinese style eggroll with lots of veggies, which I hate. There wasn’t much filling in it either. It comes with sweet sour sauce but meh nothing special. I guess this would be a good place to get cater food for a party but I personally would not come back here.

Keep the frying to the experts. This place is simple and to the point. Just saw a nice American man order ten trays of various chow mein, egg rolls, and chicken that the staff had to roll our in a cart to his SUV.

This is my go to place to order an egg roll party tray for work potlucks. They’re not the best egg rolls I’ve ever had, but they never fail because everyone loves them at my work. I always order a day ahead and it’s always ready on time for pick up. I love their fried chicken and shrimp balls. So crunchy, warm, and fresh! I appreciate that the store is clean and the workers are fast and friendly.

Every time the roommate’s friends get together for a Friendsgiving, the Super Bowl, etc, someone brings King Eggroll. This past Sunday, November 29th, we got Eggrolls & Fried xiu mai. Both were hot, crispy and come with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. The egg rolls are big and filled with meat and veggies. I adore the fried xiu mai. Basically like a deep fried meaty wonton. I love the crispy wonton wrapper. And it’s got a good meaty filling. Great option for potlucks and get togethers. We rarely have leftovers when it comes to King Eggroll.

Rude workers. I was just trynna order two combos but they continue to try to get us to buy four kids meal instead. obviously they wanted us to spend more money so they told us at least three times. also, don’t buy their drinks. half ice is NOT worth $ 3.75

The eggrolls and fried chicken are phenomenal! I got catering and ordered them ahead of time, and they called me when I didn’t show up on time. Some posts said they would make you wait so I gave them a time 15 minutes before I knew I could make it. They were on time! When I got there I was so hungry I ordered some wontons, and they had to heat them up. They weren’t very good, but it’s a) probably because it was the end of the day, and b) they aren’t called King Wonton, are they! I was eating the leftoever eggrolls and chicken the next day, and still awesome!

Fried chicken is bomb. You should try it. 5 stars for their fried chicken, fried rice, and noodles. I went earlier today and they had a long line. It took about 10 – 15 mins for me to get my food. Also parking may be limited. When I TRIED entering the automatic doors did not open so I had to walk around.

This place seemed to be so much more until I visited. This seemed to be a VietNamese rendition of a Chinese restaurant, with a very limited menu of perhaps, eight entrees. With«Eggroll» in the name, I didn’t think that eggrolls would be optional. I figured that meals would be centered around them. They had a tofu dish with eggplant and another vegetarian dish, which had been finished. I was there not long after 7 p.m. The person behind the counter suggested that they could cook something just then. Instead, I tried two beef dishes(beef with broccoli, string beans with beef) and fried rice in a $ 7.00 combo. I’ve had bad luck with beef at many Asian restaurants and figured that I could just eat the vegetables. It didn’t take long for them to call me to the counter to pick up my food. With my iced tea and tax, my meal came to $ 8.70, which wasn’t bad for the amount of food. Unfortunately, the best thing about the meal was the iced tea. The fried rice was not good at all. The two beef dishes were okay but not all that tasty. If I was more willing, I could have eaten more but it was more like filler than food. Maybe, it’s better when the restaurant has just opened.

You come here for the eggrolls and food and not the service. That being said, let’s talk about the food. Eggrolls are still as good as I remember them. Quality has stayed consistent throughout the years at all their locations. I just wish that the prices also stayed constant. But, it’s still cheaper and better than any other place in the area. Steam table is hit and miss, depending on the time that you come in. Rule of thumb, come during lunch time when food turnover is pretty quick and food is fresher. I do not advise you to come an hour before closing. They’re out of the most popular dishes and you can never tell how long stuff has been sitting there. However, in general, food quality is pretty good, especially considering the price. Their dim sum is also pretty decent. Come early because they usually run out quickly, especially on the weekends. I came at 9 am once and they already had dim sum available. I really love their sui mai, even if the portions have gotten smaller. For pot lucks, I get the fried sui mai. I have never brought that to a gathering where it wasn’t immediately gobbled up. People LOVE that stuff. If you have patience, I also recommend their catering. However, it is advisable to come in person rather than trying to make arrangements over the phone. I have called and could not understand the person on the other line. Plus, if you come in person, you can pay for your order and not have to worry about it on the day of the event. Also, if you’re picking up, make sure to give yourself plenty of time, especially during weekends and holidays. It will be chaotic and crazy, just resign yourself to that fact and prepare. Lastly, their banh mi’s are also pretty good. I like their bread way better than Lee’s down the street. However, these are popular and they tend to run out of bread often.

We really like the fried xiu mai here. Only thing is if you place a large order to go, make sure that you are prepared to wait 15 – 30 minutes as they do not make your order before you show up, even if you call in. Most of the other to go items like the chicken and egg rolls are pretty good as well. Pretty crowded and small so don’t plan to eat here!

Where’s the BESTEGGROLLS in town?! KINGEGGROLL! I went to Pioneer High and the best thing to bring to class parties or to badminton practice was King Eggroll’s piping, hot fresh EGGROLLS! Other Vietnamese and Chinese fast food places(I’m looking at you, Lee’s) pale in comparison to King Eggroll when it comes to the crispy fried goodness! Why do their eggrolls reign royalty? (1) Eggroll length is as long as your hand and half the width of your hand! DANG! That’s a might gigantic eggroll! Unless you got tiny midget hands then double that. (2) Affordable for the quantity and quality. That sucker is packed with meat and veggies! Every bite is gushing with savory flavor, and the crispy flour wrapper is perfectly crunchy. (3) Bomb sweet ‘n sour sauce. It never feels like there’s enough sauce because you have to drown that fried sucker in that sweet sauce mm. Some inconveniences are that parking is terrible and they take cash only, but you have to realize you’re in a very Vietnamese, Asian-oriented area where it’s immensely populated and many places only want your cold, hard dough. Coming to the Story/McLaughlin Area and treating it like it’s supposed to be some 5 Star Michelin restaurant– you’re going to be severely disappointed haha and the service around here is notoriously«Asian» aka non-existent. So just go with the flow! Their other items of Chinese foods, dim sum, and BBQ are also very tasty! I’d recommend coming here for take-out then going along your merry way :) Love this place, love the employees(it’s family-owned!), and LOVETHEIREGGROLLS!

I grew up near the original King Egg Roll on Berryessa. This place pales in comparison. I don’t know if its the same owner or franchised but the egg rolls here tasted significantly different from the location in North San Jose. We picked up a tray for a potluck and was severely disappointed. Lesson Learned. Go to the Berryessa location…

Back in the day, this place was hopping and I really liked its bare bones concept. When I walked in, I noticed that there were fewer tables, like they didn’t want people dining in. As I was dining in, I took notice of the neighborhood a bit more. It was a lot sketchier than I remember it. Being catcalled just as I walked out of the door was unwelcomed. He looked very drunk/high. Though not the fault of King Eggroll, had I noticed this person standing by the door, I would have never gotten out of the car, and went somewhere else. Its annoying that this place is still cash only — at least their ATM fee is low($ 1.50). A lunch box is $ 7, and a kids meal is $ 5.50. Egg rolls are pricey at $ 1. a whole Peking Duck is $ 17. Everything was good, but a little on the oily side, but the left overs heats up on the pan deliciously.
