Silverado is a wonderful facility. My Dad has been there for a year now. The staff are so caring & keep me posted with what is going on. Instead of leaving him sitting in his room they make sure my Dad gets out & participates in the games, book reading & cooking. The food is also exceptional. It is never easy to leave your loved one in a care place, but I feel good when I say goodbye to my Dad knowing how well cared for he is. There’s no way that our family could give him this kind of constant care & attention that he deserves.

Plagued by staff turnover due to aloof management that doesn’t seem interested in what it really takes to run a facility like this. Has declined markedly.

My father has been living here at Silverado for five and a half years. We come twice a week to visit and have lunch with him. I am always amazed at the patience and caring displayed by the staff, from the caregivers right up to management. I could never do their job, and because they do it so well, I don’t have to feel guilty about that. Alzheimer’s disease sucks– for those afflicted by it, and for their families. It is a progressive disease. When my father first came here he could still walk and take care of his own hygiene. That is no longer true. It is a blessing that Silverado can handle all levels of care. At some facilities he would have had to have been moved as he deteriorated. Consistency of surroundings is really important to those with Alzheimer’s. They have pets that roam the facility freely, they decorate for every holiday, and the place is squeaky clean and smells good. They have daily activities and entertainment and try to include all of the residents to whatever level they are comfortable with. The food here is good, like I said, I have lunch here twice a week. Family is always welcome to drop in– anytime. The nursing staff is professional and friendly and I get a phone call any time my father so much as stubs his toe. Making the decision to place a loved one in a «home» is difficult– you hear such horror stories– I am so grateful for the level of care my father receives at Silverado

My brother has been at Silverado for almost 3 years now. They have a fantastic staff from maintenance on up. I could never say enough about how wonderful they are all & loving & you can see they actually care about each resident & they take the time to know each resident & their family members. If I am having an emotionally bad day there because my brother is having a bad day the staff picks up on it & I will get support from all & many hugs. For me, it has been a blessing. I do not have to worry about anything not being taken care of & I can feel comfortable being gone for a few days or week knowing my brother is well cared for. I am there just about every day so I do see first hand how wonderful everyone is. They are always coming up with new ideas on how to keep residents active & interested in participating with different activities. Music plays a big part & also being allowed to have animals & all children are very welcome. I could go on & on but the bottom line is all about the wonderful job the staff is doing. Silverado Senior Living is my second home right now & I am very happy that they are!
