Greeted by a young girl that wasn’t exactly super friendly. I have never eaten here and wouldn’t say I was impressed overall. Ordered a safe or what I thought was safe a tri-tip sandwich. It was just ok. Wasn’t seasoned or cooked great. But for $ 8 it was ok. I actually liked the potato salad more that it came with. Place is outdated and feels dirty. Not a place I am going to frequent. Quick bite it’ll work. They have a sauce bar that is interesting to say. The sandwich was 8.50 and comes with potato salad in a small cup. Better than fast food.

The brisket definitely was not a hit it had a huge layer of fat surrounding the meat. The flavor and seasoning were not desirable. The bacon cheeseburger was mehhh at best. The fries were the best part of the meal. I won’t be back. I was not surprised that the restaurant was empty besides 1 other party beside my bf and I.

UPDATE: Have given this place another try. BBQ is better than what it has been in the past. The meat was moist, still not smokey enough to me but still tasty. Even tried their clam chowder and it was tasty and full of chunks of meat, potatoes, and goodness. Will definitely warm you up on a chilly day.

Been to SLO2x’s and ate here both times. Just feet from another chain BBQ restaurant and I would hands down pick this place! They need half orders of Onion rings! I got the Brisket plate and an order of Onion rings. When I get tired of the Brisket(someday) I’ll try something new. ;D Onion Rings ***** 5 stars +5!!!

The Food: The food can literally be a hit or miss and the consistency is not great. I normally get their burritos, breakfast and tacos. I recommend the tri tip burrito with everything and their house sauce and a side of fries… I think their potato salad side is a joke, but the salad was ok. Sometimes their fried can be fired to perfection, or then can be a little undercooked. One time I had the burrito and cheese tasted like it could have been a little old… One time I got their breakfast biscuits and gravy, but it was a damn english muffin… Very different. They have a nice taco special too. The Restaurant: They are open most of the time and the location is great for parking. The restaurant has this western theme that is ok I guess. You can call in ahead and have your order ready for take out. They also have plenty of dine in space. The Service: The girls are nice and attentive and will help you with your order. The place is pretty clean and they bring your food to you if you dine in, there is no waiter and if self seating, but they bring the food to you. They are open early and pretty late.

Family owned. They charge good prices for the amount of food served. I patronized this restaurant 3 times in two days. It was well worth it. They could easily charge more for what they serve. Meat is too good to smother in sauce. I will be back.

Nasty, greasy, grisly tri-tip sandwich. Tri-tip salad was room temperature and tasteless. I got the distinct feeling the employees wont even eat the food they serve there. Never going back. Ever.

First visit in the early afternoon and was a perfect choice for the three of us. We didn’t stray far from the norm all ordering the pork ribs(spare ribs). The ribs were smoked perfectly, there was plenty of meat too, double the thickness of the bone portion. Very little fat and a flavorful sauce. The beans were… well tasted like canned chili w/out meat that had an added helping of brown sugar, sweet chili I loved getting caught off balance on this one, the slaw was a typical neutral cabbage and carrot mixture. Garlic bread finished off the platter. I also ordered buffalo wings which came with fries something we all also enjoyed. There are a lot of smokehouses in town, this divey place was a great value!

Absolutely delicious. Their deals on tacos and beers is a constant staple in my diet as a college kid who’s a little short on cash. Their house made sauces are AMAZING(the Texas sauce is to die for). There’s one younger guy in particular my boyfriend and I see at lunch frequently who’s awesome, he’s super pleasant. Definitely a lax atmosphere and great food, I don’t know how this place isn’t constantly packed.

The brisket plate is probably my favorite thing here, although it is sometimes hit or miss. I’ve had way more hits than misses though. Today, I had a Call Poly burrito, essentially a tri tip burrito with fries inside, pico de gallo, and we added guacamole. It was heavenly. Love the food, plus, they’ve got free Wi-Fi!

Overpriced. I got the Tri-Tip. It was cold, dry and chewy. My friend got the burger and onion rings. He said it was good and looked better than mine. The dining room was dirty, even though they were not busy.

My favorite breakfast here is the breakfast sandwich with sausage and home fries with salsa. It comes with coffee and is under $ 7 after tax. Best meal deal around!

I think everything is good. The food just needs a little more seasoning, and you’ll see me again this week ;) and the next. ;) they have parking in the rear. And the prices are very affordable. They have a TV — sports ;) don’t forget to pick up your condiments at the side bar. The staff was very friendly.

I was surprised that this place featured burgers, and fries more prominently than it’s BBQ. The menu is a bit tough to decipher the exact nature/variety of the meats on offer, but tri-tip and pulled pork I saw and ordered. The meat was moist and pretty good, though it was mild in flavor and begged for sauce. Too bad, as I like quality meat that you feel compelled to eat sauce free… oh well. The included garlic bread was great, and the baked beans were good. Though the coleslaw was unequivocally the worst I have had, anywhere… ever. So… stear clear of it. It was overly gelatinous, soggy, sweet(and not in a good way). Seriously, it’s awful. For meat that should take half a day to prepare and cook it took what seemed a long time to bring it from the back and put it in a take out box. Service was bland and lifeless. With all of these negatives, I would still say the meat itself was good. So, it’s worth trying.

THEME: INSEARCHOFGREATBURGERS! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Burger was such a disappointment that I have yet to return. It was overdone, the patty was thin, & the beef was nothing special. Now this is a friendly local place & it appears to be family run. You may have better luck with the other food here, but I focus on burgers that have it all. Thus: Great Beef– rare to med-rare Thick Great fixin’s Good bun Side Dill Pickles etc…

Came with a group of 15 on early Tuesday morning(Caesar Chaves Day). At 8 am the restaurant was open, but there was only one person working the entire restaurant. Another employee arrived about half an hour later. We ordered at 8, food finally came out at 8:40, but it was for a party that arrived/ordered after us! First plate of our party came at 8:45, my to go order arrived 5 minutes after that. I ordered the breakfast burrito special, $ 5.25 for a burrito and hash browns. I know it’s cheap and I shouldn’t expect much, but the burritos were tiny and the hash browns were grainy. There was a lot of bacon, but it was chewy and unappetizing. This place may do better for bbq, but their breakfast burritos are disappointing.

My daughter used to rave about this place so I finally got around to trying it. I will never go back. The prices are high for what you get and there is no real atmosphere. I have eaten here before in different incarnations of restaurants and this is the worst restaurant I have experienced at this location. I ordered the tri tip plate which runs around 12 bucks. For that I would expect more than 5 very thin slices of tri tip. Not only was it less than an eighth inch thick, it was very fatty, very dry, and seemed like they had just heated up some meat they had sliced earlier today. I enjoy doing barbecue myself, have eaten at other barbecue places, and have had plenty of barbecue at the farmers market. I can tell you that this is the lowest quality and satisfaction of barbecue I have experienced. I frequent Moe’s, Firestone, and the farmers market. I have been to the restroom a couple of times so far and attribute it 2 G brothers. My wife was excited to get beef ribs. She was fine with the ribs. She had the potato salad instead of cole slaw. Unfortunately we did not confirm whether there was mustard in the potato salad which sometimes causes her some stomach discomfort. I don’t know what the primary contributor was, but she ended up vomiting her whole dinner after we got home. Generally speaking this should not occur when dining out. We got the barbecue sauce provided as condiment, and I have to say that I was severely disappointed. Moe’s has by far superior tasting, consistency, and quality barbecue sauce. It was as if they had taken some barbecue sauce they bought at Smart and Final or Costco and thinned it out with vinegar. I personally did not care for the mustard based barbecue sauce but that is simply a personal preference. I was however interested to see that they did offer that type of barbecue sauce. I had never seen a mustard based sauce before. Maybe they thinned out the same bbq sauce with mustard instead. When I went to wash my hands, the men’s room towel dispenser was empty. I guess this means their employees are not in the habit of washing their hands after using the restroom. I should have taken this as a signal to cancel my order and leave. After all, if an employee washes their hands and notices there are no paper towels, wouldn’t it make sense for them to replace the paper towels? With so many good reviews about this place, my experience was well below par. If I were to expect my experience to be compared to their ratings, I would have to say this is way unbelievable. There is no way I can reconcile my experience with the high ratings of this business. I hope your experience turns out better than mine.

We really loved this place ! There were ¾ different kinds of BBQ sauce and the chicken was delicious! I had the BBQ chicken sandwich and my husband got the quarter chicken. We eat every last bite! Te curly fries were yummy too ! We had been to the other BBQ place that seems to be most popular but this place was way better in our opinion but we also don’t eat red meat and it seemed that other place was popular for some dish with red meat. Anyways we love this place and plan to stop here whenever we drive through !
