Being only a middle of the road vegetarian, this place isn’t really my scene, but you know men and their meat, it’s a cosmic bond no woman could ever break. I took my husband out on a Monday night and the place was pretty full(a shout out to all the middle aged San Luis Obispo meat lovers!) Service was fast and despite my attempt of ordering something without meat in it, the potato skins had a ton of bacon, but I told you I’m just a mediocre vegetarian, so I ate them. I also got a shrimp skewer and grabbed some fries and garlic bread from his plate, both of them excellent, add a couple tall beers and you’ve got yourself a par-ty. He got the sirloin, which he described as good, but not as good as the New York steak he had there previously. Don’t get me wrong, he was the happiest guy for like a week, so it was well worth the money(meat is not cheap, even when the industry is highly subsidized, but that is another topic). The point is that this place is a safe meat eater’s dinner spot and the value to price ratio is reasonable. Shrimpy approved.

Saturday, 7:00PM. Quickie: + Food quality + Hygiene — Customer service — Turnaround And then??? Filet mignon had charred edges. The seafood options on the menu look enticing. ********** Constructive comments: *Do you compost? *Source ingredients

I went there on Saturday morning, wasn’t too busy. Overall the food is pretty good. The service is another story. On the kids breakfast menu it says you get any soft drink with your breakfast meal. We asked if you could replace the soft drink with milk and milk was excluded. When not many people are going to want a soft drink with their breakfast. Then we asked if we could replace an egg in the meal for bacon. The waiter said she could most likely do it. Then when our food is ready she said the bacon will be an extra charge. But that being said I still had a pretty good breakfast burrito.

I never ate here before but my girlfriend went to university nearby so she said this is a place used to hang out and eat. So we stopped in and the place was pretty crowded but not in a bad way. The décor on the inside was sort of casual and not brightly lit so it’s a nice atmosphere. Our waiter was very nice the tall lanky guy very personable. We had our mind set on having a couple really nice steaks so that’s exactly what we did. The stakes are right they were cooked to order with garlic potatoes and all the wonderful trimmings. Its been awhile since I’ve had a nice cut of steak so this was a nice treat. It looks like it’s a fun place to hang out because a lot of the locals are here and the locals happened all the college kids so there’s your age group for you. All the food that I saw arriving at the other tables were all possessing I appeal and look like something that I would like to try in the future.

I used to frequent this site when I was in college so I brought my parents here to have a small meal prior to the Farmer’s Market opening and we shared a fine meal. The burgers were great and were complimented by the salad. This is still a nice venue.

This place is very good with the staff, drinks, and the food. We were seated right away. No waiting. Plenty of TVs for watching sports and fast service from the waitstaff and the bartender was very quick with our drinks. We had the grilled shrimp skewers for an appetizer and they were hot off the grill. They were also good sized shrimp. I had the shrimp pasta for dinner and my wife had the tri-tip ceaser salad and both were excellent. Pricing seems fair for this downtown area of SLO and we would come back here again. I appreciated when the waiter gave me a choice of beer sizes. They have 12oz, 22oz, and 32oz. Had the 22 ounce 805 and it was perfect. Well done, McClintocks.

Very great happy hour! I just turned 21 so I thought their happy hour Margarita was a bit strong but it was still good. And I also tried a mimosa which was good. Shared food with a friend and the portions were great for the price!

Good food and pretty cold beer. Frosty glasses would get 5 stars. Food was legit, didn’t eat the turkey testicles. Burgers were money and the BLT was great. The fries were run of the mill, nothing unique. Great place to hang out. Stuffed animal on the walls, which I love. MEATISGOOD.

Great spot for happy hour! Good deals to be had which I especially appreciate on farmers market night as a place to sit and grab a drink between the workday ending and the vendors opening. I’ve tried some of the food here as well, no complaints but nothing to write home about either. The best food they offer is probably at their farmers market stand outside on Thursday nights.

Steak is overpriced, overcooked and over rated. The top sirloin was more like bottom of the barrel and over powered with garlic. In contrast, the rib eye lacked flavor and had too much salt. For $ 30, should be a thicker cut with bone. Please put under new management to bring back to its past glory!

Great service by who else — James(probably not his real name either :-) wife and I had been on the PCH all day and we were starving!!! She had the 8pz sirloin and I had the 12 oz strip — cooked perfectly — adder for house salad totally worth it!

Oh. Yeah. Just order the Ribeye Sandwich. Ask for the zesty, creamy, spicy, ranch to top that bad-boy off. I asked for my fries to be well-done. Guess what? Well done. Drinks are no joke. The bartender knows what is what and delivers quickly and accurately. Aren’t those the qualities you seek in a bartender? I do. Cool vibe. Great mix of locals and tourists. Do it.

Went there for breakfast today and the food and the service were just kind of mediocre. Decided to try something I hadn’t seen on their menu before: chicken and waffle. The waffle was kind of bland, and the chicken was actually two smallish chicken tenders like you would buy in a frozen bag at the grocery store. Definitely uninspired. My friend enjoyed his breakfast burrito though, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. If there’s a next time I’ll stick with the tried and true basics.

The food is delish! You may not think the clams chowder could be good in SLO but this place does it right. Good local beer selection and great staff

My fiancé and I had a couple days off so we traveled over to the coast. Service was outstanding. However both of our steaks were overdone. Server told us they would refire them but we were on a timeline so we declined. I had a ribeye and my fiancé had filet. Both very tasty and would have recieved the full 5 star rating from me had the steaks be done properly. When the bill came, they had given us a 50% entrée discount. All in all, we will happily go back.

This place is awesome! Very courteous service and the restaurant has a unique feel to it. If you are ever in SLO this is the place to be. I went here on a recommendation from one of my friends. You must try the turkey nuts!!! Very nice portions and very reasonably priced. It is also right down the block from the parking lot and the nice little creek. Very romantic if you are with a girlfriend or spouse. My advice is to not get any dessert and walk down the block and get some ice cream at Dr. Bernsteins. Absolutely phenomenal. I would have given this place 5 stars but they only get a 4 because the bathroom needs some work. I was expecting a nice up to date bathroom but its a bit dingy and not what I expected. A little advice to the owners: you should match the bathroom with the rest of the theme of the restaurant. That would be awesome. Other than that excellent establishment.

This place was confusing for me. I thought I was being seated at a English/Irish pub based on the name«McGlintocks». I was schooled by the girl, a Cal Poly Alum, and just ate my ok burger. Our seating was top notch. Was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and we ate outside, right next to creek. The girl raved about her Lemon Drop.

Perhaps the place needs some menu modernizing or updates. The ribs were just ok. The sauce is very peppery. The chicken pasta was VERY garlicky. The side dishes of beans and cole slaw were the best part!!! Be careful what you order. Staff is friendly and the vibe is definitely college town, USA.

I rarely rail on bad service. People can be having a bad day or have a particularly needy table that can distract the wait staff but this was so bad I could hardly stand it. On the upside the ribeye sandwhich was pretty darn tasty. Had they not been out of the babyback ribs and tri tip I would never had the chance to try it. To be fair it was a Thursday night and toward closing time so maybe everyone was tired but still. The problem was our server took the table’s orders turned them into the kitchen and then 20 min later when everything else was ready to come out came back to tell two of the 6 of us that they were out of what we ordered. No big deal we can order again. We did. I got that tasty ribeye. But then while our new orders were cooking she left all the other ones under the warming lights. After 20 min they brought out those(we could see them sitting there the whole time) but still didn’t have my or the other order ready. The guys we were with ate their cold food while we waiting for ours to come out. After another 10 min the late orders came out. Then to make it worse we ordered a couple of the large beers, they brought out the regular sized one saying they would come back and fill it again because they were out of the big glasses(Sweet 4 oz free beer!) but then when we waved her down again later she took our glasses and never came back. Not cool. We asked for them when we got the bill and finally were brought out. The food was ok. Not amazing. It would have been better if it wasn’t so cold or freaking late. It was just pretty pathetic service. Sorry guys but damn that was bad.
