The Habit Burger Grill

I love the habit! It’s great food and it’s cheap. I’m not giving a full five stars because I was really unhappy with the service I got today. The girl up front was really sweet. It was the guy who gave us our food that was really rude. His attitude was horrible. We asked for some condiments and he gave us just one so we asked again and he gave us a look like, «really? You’re going to make me walk 2 feet to get you another one?» And seriously dude, I work in a restaurant too, it’s not that hard to walk a few feet to get a customer some ranch. And he handed it to us so we could hurry and leave. He had a disrespectful and rude attitude when we asked for some the first time too. It made me really uncomfortable and I should have said something to him because it really ruins my mood when someone treats a customer that way. I called the operations manager, but she seemed busy and almost as if she wasn’t listening to me. But I really hope she talked to him because as little of a deal this may sound, I always associated the habit with the best customer service. And if he thinks it’s okay and it goes unnoticed the way he talks to customers, I’m sure he’ll keep doing it especially if he has a bad day or something. So I hope they told him. I also heard it’s hard to get hired there because of their customer service so they need to hire the right people. So it really disappoints me that this happened.

We have been here many times with only a few issues, such as lack of understanding and poor communication skills, but we usually get what we wanted. This time it was bad, food sat for a long time before we got it and only because I inquired about it. Due to the delay most of the meal was cold or only slightly warm. Missing items that were requested and items run out at the fountain drink bar. By the time I ate I was understandably hangry (angry due to being hungry). Make sure they understand your order and check it as soon as you get it. The burgers are okay and the service is minimal. I’ll come back when it’s slower and I’m not as hungry, but then again if I’m not hungry why go at all. If I’m hungry next time I’ll go across the street to Eureka and enjoy my meal.

Good burgers, soft serve ice cream is the perfect compliment to a good lunch. Can’t wait for them to open a place near San Jose

I have gotten salads to go at least 6 times in the last 6 months. I have arrived home with no dressing 4 times. I guess I need to make sure I get what I pay for:/

I phoned in a pickup order at this location several days ago. Upon arrival at the pickup counter, one of their employees repeated my order back to me, just as I had ordered it. Once home, I discovered my order was NOT as I had ordered it. Despite the attached order receipt showing my order correctly, my son’s cheeseburger had no cheese and my wife’s salad came without salad dressing. I called back to inform them of my botched order and was told the store manager would return my call. It’s now been 4 days. I’ve left two messages and have yet to receive a call from anyone at the Habit. Very poor customer service… not impressed!

After my previous review, I have since been back and the service and food was significantly much better. They are definitely taking their reviews to heart which is crucial. Great salad!

My review for the Habit is based on my experience with their vegetarian burgers. I have ordered the burger a couple times, once when they first opened and again not too long ago. The burger was the worst vegetarian burger I’ve ever had. I typically always finish the food that I order from a place, regardless of whether I like it or not. I wasn’t able to finish either of the burgers because it was that bad. I am not sure what the patty was made of but it just wasn’t worth eating.
As far as the place goes, the service was fast. The place is clean and the prices are reasonable. If you’re not a vegetarian, maybe it’s worth a try.

I was craving a burger and thought I would check out the habit. I got a burger Santa Barbara style and it was delicious. Came with avocado on toasted sourdough. I felt a little guilty eating a burger when there are so many healthy options downtown but it did hit the spot and with fries the price came out to $ 8. Totally worth it.
The restaurant is very clean with a lot of seating and big windows. It is nice to people watch while enjoying lunch. Staff was friendly. Will come again the next time I get the craving for a quick burger downtown.

Considering its basically «fast food” — pretty decent food. Crazy busy when we arrived, but staff handled themselves well and kept everyone happy. Basic burger and drinks, served fresh and hot– not bad at all!

#awful…save yourself $ 20…go to mcdonalds. Very over priced for the food quality. Would not go back.

The food was tremendous. I had a limited-​edition sandwich the garlic portobello mushroom… Absolutely delicious! One regret. The food preppers don’t wear gloves. It felt a bit discomforting watching them prepare food without gloves. Only the raw meat handlers wore the gloves. They really need to change that policy. All food handlers should wear gloves.
Other than that loved it. Onion rings exploded with texture flavor!!! The choc malt took me down memory lane! Fabulous!

Great burger place! Decently priced and quality food. Really loved the sweet potato fries! Really great for a quick bite without getting MacDonald’s or some other fast food chain. Definitely recommended.

Lunch today — yummy. Had an error made on our order and the girl at the register fixed it promptly and our birthday group had lots of fun

Very fresh food. Ambience is very casual and very kid friendly. I liked the quality of the food and price average was about $ 10 per person. I will definitely try this place again with some other selections. I did not hear any complaints from anybody in our party.

I come here all the time, but this will be the first time I will write a review about it. And let me tell you: the habit is high quality fast food. you could spend the same amount of money at mcdonalds or carl’s jr and the burger won’t even be close in terms of tastiness. the habit was named THE best burger joints in america compared to in n out and other places!
I ordered the teriyaki char with the crispy onions, and it was perfect; patty was grilled nicely, teriyaki wasn’t too overpowering. facility is really clean too, and the line moves fast. lots of seating inside. they also have a nice condiment station (ketchup, banana peppers, jalapeños, etc). however, I am not going to give it five stars because the fries were too salty!

First time eating here and it was so good!!! Better than in n out for sure and definitely worth the price. They are super fast and friendly.
Have to go back again sometime!

I should start by saying I am a die hard In & Out fan, but we don’t have one in town.
So finally I broke down and tried this place out… gosh dang it. It’s good!
Forget the comparisons as these places are not the same. Both are great.
The fries are the perfect thickness and have the right amonut of crunch.
The pineapple burger is always cooked well, moist and flavorful, the cheesy melty and the pineapple just the right level of sweetness.
The staff are always really nice and the dining area is surprisingly large.
I really do like coming here and am glad it’s in town, because I find myself here more than I ever would have guessed.

Best burger… I don’t know what else to say, the crazy long line during lunch speaks for it self (avoid the lunch hour). The burgers are the best you will have, the menu is simple but concise, there is something for everyone.

This place is perfect.
It isn’t trying to be overly highfalutin (that’s a real word!) with $ 15 truffle and foie gras burgers. And it isn’t a sleazy fast-​food grill. Here you will find the masterpiece that is the American burger and fries meal. PERFECT.

One crazy weekend we decided to drive 200 miles to visit SLO and attend mass and walk around. That’s how much I like driving one of my toys and getting out. The accountant and I took some crazy kids out for the weekend and we had already walked around town and shopped and attended Mass at the Mission and we were getting pretty hungry.
Then our noses lured us to the Habit Burger Grill and it was on baby. We took a min to check out the Menu and ended up just ordering Burgers and fries and assumed it was just any other burger place but then we started to bite and bite again a them juice burgers and the fries were delicious as well. The location is pretty clean and crowded on a Sunday and I cannot wait to come back and get me some more burgers. We may want to drive 3 hours again to visit the mission and eat here again.
