the first time I went I wanted a multi cheese sandwich with avocado and black olives. THEYHADNEITHER!!! UNDERSTAND: they are a sandwich shop… in CALIFORNIA!!! there is no such thing as NOT having avocado in a sandwich shop LOL!!! even off season, every sandwich shop has them! I gave them one more chance months later and still had neither. since these are my go to sandwich toppings, there was no reason to return. Lame ass sandwich shop. I am sure there are many standard sandwich toppings they fail to have too. I didn’t bother to look into it because I already knew they were lame.

I took one bite of the roast beef sandwich and rejected it. Yays: (+) To-go/Catering box packaging was excellent Nays: (-) Bread is bland and dry (-) All other ingredients were equally unappetizing. With the many other good sandwich places in the area, I’d give this place a hard pass. Great job on the packaging though.

Came here hungry and even though the service was slow. The fellas behind the counter made a great sandwich. I love this place better than subway or Quiznos.

We do have a lot of sandwich places in this area, and so I was a little bit like… hmmm when Jersey Mike’s rolled into town. I gotta say, I do like these! They do have more of an East Coast feel than a lot of the sandwich shops around here. They’re also more basic IN A GOODWAY… simple ingredients, kind of like a sandwich you’d make at home if you had all the stuff. And they don’t sit there and count out the leaves of lettuce or peppers the way they do at Subway. I think my favorite is the meatball sub, but I’ve liked everything I’ve tried. I do like getting the sandwich«Mike’s Way.» It makes the sandwich tangy but not overwhelmingly heavy. Also good that you can choose your size. Prices are a *little* steep, but the sandwiches are good quality and fairly large so I won’t gripe TOO much about that. Service is generally friendly and efficient, but I’m kinda bummed that no one mentioned the«free chips after 4» thing the last time I was in. :(

Our go-to after hikes. My very own Jersey Boy’s fave meal: sandwiches. If I could have captured how elated he was when we drove pass it, my description would exhibit a child on Christmas morning. My go to order is always number 41 whereas his is the Italian. Quality is consistently amazing. Staff is friendly and the place is well kept.

This is not a good sub place. I love the idea. I was highly compelled by their marketing and the thought that someone who understood east coast subbery might finally have arrived to rescue us from our dismal sub-less existence here. I wish they actually had good subs. But they’re awful. My credentials: east coast sub shop employee while in college. Generally, you don’t find good subs in California. It’s an unfortunate and seemingly universal truth. Same like pizza — I’m really not sure why. Maybe it’s the water. But maybe — just maybe — it’s that we(collectively) don’t know better. Just like I’d be hard pressed to find a decent burrito in Boston. I was shocked to see the 4 stars this place is carrying — I wonder how legit some of those Unilocal-heavyweight reviews really are(sorry for those that are legit). All that aside — did I mention these subs are awful? I’ve given it three goes and with my three boys in tow that’s a total of 12 different subs on three different occasions. Awful bread. Awful ingredients. Awful preparation. Awful presentation(yes this is a thing with subs). All I can say is — you’re better off buying some Acme baguettes and some real deli cuts at your local grocer and rolling your own. Let’s hold our restaurants accountable people. We deserve better.

Great sub spot. Three different sizes of sandwiches which is great for me cause the mini is close to 6 inches already. I love that they slice meat and cheese fresh for each sandwich right in front of you. It’s nice to know where it’s coming from. And they make their roast beef on site. About The same price as Subway but far better quality!

I was disappointed with the sandwiches. Our family has been there a need of times and tried different sandwiches. You wait in line to get your sandwiches and when they are done, the sauces and ingredients result in a soggy, drippy, messy sandwich. For the same price, we can get better sandwiches at a number of other places in the area. I would return only if nowhere else was open or out of convenience, if we happen to be at Michael’s Arts next door.

I am not a huge sandwich person, but I have probably been to almost every sandwich shop in the area, so I thought it was time to try this place out. First disappointment, they only have two kinds of bread, white and wheat, no sourdough, no dutch crunch, nothing else. I was impressed that they cut all their meats and cheeses when ordered. Now for taste, incredibly salty, I ordered a pastrami sandwich on wheat, I couldn’t even finish it, I ended up tossing it. Not really impressed.

New sandwich chain that seems to be springing up in every city on the peninsula. It is very good. It’s still a chain, but its good. I’d place it just below Ike’s but above The Sandwich Spot. Quality is vastly superior to Subway, but the Jeresey Mike’s menu lacks Subway’s diverse options. Ordering advice: All cheeses and meats are sliced to order and bread is baked daily. Veggies are fresh and sliced and prepared every couple of hours. Nice attention to detail across the board. Unless you hate vinegar, go mikes way. The spices, oil, and red wine vinegar seem to be perfectly calibrated to add richness, depth, and tang to your sandwich. Don’t get the giant size unless you plan on eating the sandwich for lunch and dinner. Its HUGE. It is NOT a typical 12 inch foot long, its about 16 – 18 inches long and is packed with 3x more meat and veggies than subway. Regular size is well suited for a moderate appetite, mini will fill you up the same as a 6-inch sub from Subway. Hot sandwiches can take forever. Easily 15 minutes if there are a couple people ahead of you. Cold sandwich orders take less than 5 minutes.

These are good clean, healthy sandwiches if you are not interested in creamy condiment madness. Jersey Mike’s is also a spacious and bright venue with large windows– perfect for inhaling your sub and checking out the action on the El Camino. Different sizes for varying appetites are available– 5″ being the smallest. There’s the Grilled Veggie for you vegetarians too. I relished my roast beef sandwich between a wheat roll Mike’s Way– which is the basic ingredients of lettuce, tomato, oil, onion, vinegar, salt and pepper. Wraps and even a sandwich salad minus the carbs are also options. If you have to know the extensive nutrition details of ingredients, Jersey Mike’s has done their due diligence and provided the low down on all that: soy, wheat, sulfites etc. It’s conveniently found in the«Nutrition» section of their website. It can get crowded at lunch time. Call in your order. It’s a quick in and out process. They are fast friendly, reasonably priced and make some yummy subs– cold or hot. I have my eye on the cheesesteaks and chicken wraps next!

I wanted a good sandwich but what I encountered was a really really really really great sandwich. The sandwiches are packed with soo much goodness. They’re thick and juicy, also moist and delicious. I got mine done MIkes way. The soda’s are alright. I wish I woulda gotten a chance to try the sweet tea but they were all out. The soda’s do go great with rockstar tho. They have a huge seating area also. ITs a great area to bring a group of friends. ALl the meats are professional looking in the glass case all organized neatly. This place is super clean an they also make there roast beef in house, woo hoo I am loving this place.

Everywhere on the packaging it states something like«Real ingredients, for real people, paying real wages.» All I can say is that it’s REALLY bad. You know you’re at the wrong spot when you’d rather have Subway or Quizno’s. The interior is pretty nice. Everything is branded and designed will a nice sheen on it. The side room isn’t fully enclosed. So if it’s a hot day you’re screwed. They do have wall heaters if it gets cold. The menu is half cold and hot sandwiches. They do have sandwich wraps but it’s neglected to the side. I ordered the chicken parm hot sandwich. The hot sandwich comes in a sheet of standard wax paper, then wrapped in aluminum foil, then packaged in a brown paper bag. I really don’t understand why I have to unwrap this cumbersome Christmas present even though I said I was eating in. This sandwich is horrible. The chicken is entirely bland. I thought I was tasting the breading of the chicken parm, but it was the chicken. The breading is limp and flavorless. The only thing you can taste is the artificial tasting cheese, bread, and tomato sauce. The bread is really odd. It’s soft yet flat and tasteless like you’re biting into a futon. I always finish my plate even if the food isn’t that great. Waste not, want not. In this case I threw away the last third of the sandwich. All I wanted was to stop eating the disgusting sandwich. ____ You’re better off going to Subway or Quizno’s because you’ll be getting the same thing.

Recently moved from the east coast to the west coast. LOVE Jersey Mike’s menu offerings. Excellent Italian Subs and Philly’s. Chicken Philly is a tasty alternative to the steak. Can’t go wrong with a regular size sub. Very filling. Giant size is great for sharing with others. Gotta have it Mike’s Way with lettuce, onion, tomato, oil&vinegar, and seasoning. Oh, and my favorite thing? They have sweet tea and tastykakes!

I love jersey mikes :))) It’s one of my favorite sandwich places. This location still seems fairly new, it’s clean, empty and everyone’s very enthusiastic, esp the owner. The only thing is I don’t know how I racked up at $ 14+ bill. I got a regular sized sub, drink and chips and 14 bucks just seems a bit steep. But I was happy with my food and I’m happy to promote good food.

I have to admit when I first heard this place was opening I was disappointed. I had never been to one, but I have tried so many chain sandwich places that all fail to deliver. I have to say I really like this place. To start the bread is very good and the italian subs I had growing up in PA. I also decided to try the cheese stake… I have to say it was pretty darn good. I am a HUGE fan of this place and will be a regular.

It was okay. Got the sub in a salad form instead so I can cut off the form. Not that it wasn’t good, but it doesn’t seem like it’s anything different from a good Togo or Quizno sub. Am I missing something here? The bun maybe? HAHA. Not going to dismiss it completely, but it’s an average for me. P. S. hot sandwiches is a much much longer wait than cold sandwiches, just FYI.

San Mateo is just chock full of good sandwich places. Americano, Ike’s and now Jersey Mikes. The Michael’s parking lot is a bit crazy with shoppers but youll have to endure for the food. Folks are super nice here. Friend and i split a club supreme and classic Italian. Solid all around. I like the makeshift outsideish seating on a nice day. Good for a quick tasty meal

I am breaking my Unilocal hiatus for a surprisingly great sandwich shop. Jersey Mike’s have been popping up all over the Bay Area it seems like… people raving left to right, but I had yet to experience it until tonight, and I have to say… the hype is real! #17 Philly Cheese Steak — how is this so good? Puts every cheese steak I’ve had to shame annnnnd further corroborates that there are way better ingredients than cheese whiz. #18 Chicken Parm — I had this VIA their clever and low-carb friendly dining option«Sub in a Tub» LOL and I would order it the same exact way again, so great on its own it doesn’t need the bread! #9 Club Supreme — has roast beef, turkey AND bacon. With no shame it comes with mayo and is GOOD. I don’t know what it is, but it’s on point! On top of the well prepared subs, their vegetables are fresh and the meats are great and not scary or slimy(sorry Subway, but that’s a real situation) and the bread seems SUPER fresh. I don’t know why I love this place so much, but I’m looking forward to bringing subs in for my employees every few weeks to shake things up a bit! Highly recommend.
