On receiving final billing from all parties involved, it’s good to be aware of the price structure here — all doctors are consultants to PAMF, and all departments bills separately.
My own experience:
Urgent Care is billed by the doctor (New Doctor Office Visit, tests by nursing staff, on-​premises medication)
Xray was billed by CA Advanced Medical imaging, for technician and actual xray
Xray was then billed by Mills Peninsula, for using the facility’s equipment
The first set was covered completely by my insurance, whereas the latter two were billed as services from the hospital — be careful, and be sure to ask about, what services you agree to — these charges can rack up quickly!

Horrible Experience at this clinic. I waited over 3 hours to see the doctor. Then when I finally see the doctor he has an attitude and rushes me out of the room in a couple minutes. Then a few weeks later and I got the bill. It was almost a thousand dollars for a simple urgent care visit. You gotta be kidding me.
The scam this place and all PAMF/​Sutter clinics run is that they charge you for a doctor visit and they charge a «facility fee» for stepping foot in there facility. Because they are part of a large Sutter owned chain they can charge the facility fee. If they were a small independent clinic they would not charge the facility fee.
This has got to be the biggest joke I have ever heard. But, I am definitely not laughing. There are much better urgent cares around the San Mateo Foster City area that don’t charge a ridiculous facility fee of several hundred dollars for a simple urgent care visit.
Please do yourselves a favor and ask any urgent care if they charge a facility fee before you see the doctor. If they are part of large group like Sutter, Kaiser, Stanford, UCSF, they definitely will con you with this billing scam.
