I wish we had a place like this in the tri valley. I came here with my gf and we had a lot of fun. Played pool for an hour and only cost $ 10 for the hour. They also gave Foosball and ping pong tables. Also there’s an air hockey table which is a little old and it would be nice if there was a newer one. There is also a small arcade section which isn’t bad. But the best part are the pool tables. Clean tables and oh they sell beer too :)

Came here for pinball mostly. Machines werent in the greatest shape. Attack from Mars was unplayable because it was so dark. Pretty sure The Walking Dead wasnt working correctly either which was a bummer. Star Trek was the best of the bunch mechanically. No drinks in the game room is lame. Get some pingulp cup holders or something. I would have stayed longer if I could have drank in there. Pool was fine, no complaints there. Was cool to see they have ping pong and foosball as well. Music was hit and miss. I think the owner and or manager was selecting it. Get a touch tunes!

This place is an awesome deal! My friend and I came around 8pm and we played an hour for just $ 10. It may have been the earlier rate, but we’re not pool fanatics, so it was a great price for the amount of fun we had. The guy at the counter is super laid back and friendly. The tables are well spaced out and he is courteous of spreading out people at alternating tables so there’s plenty of room. The tables seem to be in decent condition, at least ours(#17) was. My only issue was that it smelled pretty strong of smoke as soon as you walk in. There were some younger people who were smoking inside. It was probably an e-cig, but even the smoke/steam/whatever was still irritating. Overall, it’s a chill place to come and be, wait for it… Greatly Entertained! ;)

Pretty decent pool hall. Clean, not so rowdy. Plenty of tables, and no wait when i’ve been there. They’ve also got a snooker table!

Great vibes here. Definitely a chill place to come during the day with some friends. Night time can get crowded but still a good place to get a couple games of pool in.

Craziest, rudest employee ever. ACCIDENTALLY made a spill… she comes over loudly cussing and complaining about how she has to clean it up on the way to our table. Yelled at us to move out of the way. The whole time she’s cleaning she was cussing about it, complaining how she has to clean. Talking to fellow employees walking by about our spill. Made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Then being fed up, we started talking back to her and she comes back at us with, «im gonna call the cops on you if you want to start a problem.» And told us to leave after we finish our game. Seriously crazy! I could not believe the way we were treated. Not the first kind of encounter with this employee. Don’t know how this behavior has been accepted. Why would anyone purposely drop a beer? It was an accident. An employee should never attack their customers for a mistake. Sorry you hate your job so much.

15 years ago I was here when it was in San Francisco; we held a school 8th grade post-graduation event and reserved most of the building for the event. Recently, a few days ago, a friend called me up to shoot a few rounds of pool and mentioned Great Entertainer. I was surprised and am glad it’s still around, but now in San Mateo. Go in on a Tuesday, Wednesday and play all day/night for only $ 8 per person. Place is spacious, clean, plenty of pool tables, and even have two ping-pong tables, 1 air hockey table, and 1 foosball table towards the back of the building. The songs blaring are a good mix from the 80’s until now. The other nice thing is that GE opens late so one can come with a group of friends to unwind. Will definitely recommend this place for a casual hangout spot.

Cool spot to play pool as well as Foosball, air hockey, even your classic arcade games. I tend to come here with a few friends and play a game of pool with drinks. Monday night was pretty crowded but regardless of the amount of people that were there, we were still able to get a table to play. When we were playing, they were playing some interesting choices of music. You’d think that being in a place mostly of guys would not be playing 90s boy band music but they were which made the group of girls playing on another table to dance and sing, which I guess it’s alright. The only thing I would suggest for the place would be installing a fan by the pool tables that were at the low ceiling portion of the place. We so happened to be playing there and it was getting hot to play and there was no air circulation(didn’t really help that it was 95 on Monday). If you can, try asking another table if they tell you to play there. Other than that, this place is a cool place to hang.

This place has been here a LONG time. I’ve been coming here to play video games/pinball since the early 80’s! In fact they STILL have a sign in front that says kid’s can’t play the games during school hours(ah the memories lol). I’m a HUGE pinball fan and they have FIVE different machines which they change every so often. As of 5÷4÷2015 they have: 1)Playboy 2) Star Trek 3)Junk Yard 4)Attack from Mars 5)The Sopranos They also have their own parking lot on the side of the building which is nice. I’ve never played pool here but the facility is HUGE with a lot of tables.

Great place for fun date night! The tables are in great condition and the abundant cues are in amazingly good condition. Tips are solid and sticks are straight. It is crowded inside, but never seeming to be in each others way for shooting or even walking around. The parking is too small for any such establishment but we found parking within a few minutes a little walk is good. I will say that I prefer a 7 foot table(perhaps from years past; playing pool in one too many honky tonks and dive bars) so the 8 foot tables take a great deal of adaptation. The table we had, #4, seemed very new. The slate was very balanced and level and the bumpers as tight as gnat’s ass in November. We played just past an hour on a Saturday night and the table bill was only $ 16.00. Cannot beat that for a great time. The Stella I drank could have been about 10 degrees colder for more enjoyment and the diet coke she drank was typical fountain faire. Security is enjoyable to watch as he does laps. Repeated laps around the place, picking up empties and meandering along in peaceful bliss. It is a little off putting that he will just walk right past the table without concern of our shooting space and angle. Will definitely return to play more. They also have foosball, ping pong and air hockey so it could be an outstanding gathering venue for a group of friends or couples looking for something other than just sitting down to eat or being subjected to the typical«entertainment» our society has become stoically accustomed to.

Great place to hang out, play some pool and have a beer. The place is decently maintained and the pool tables and cue sticks are in pretty good shape. They also have a parking lot to the left. For one person, it was $ 7 per hour, 2 people was $ 10 an hour. They play good retro music too. The place gets busy on weekend nights so come a little earlier for a spot(especially in their parking lot). The front entrance has dried gum on the ground and that was the only unappealing thing.

Spent a great day playing 19 games of 8 ball for $ 8 per person while enjoying soda and beer. Here the tables are straight.

They have a great arcade here. Hell a lot of times I’ve played for free. Its hard to find an arcade these days so this is the place to be. This place is a San Mateo landmark in my opinion. Bathrooms aren’t so great, but Idk in a way it kinda adds to the appeal. Well, Idk about the womens rooms it might be cool. They have tons of pool tables, they even have ping pong, air hockey, and foosball tables. They serve beer here and have happy hour too. Mostly every hour is happy here tho. This is a great place to play pool and great for groups too. THey have hella specials here, you just gotta look into it.

This is a run of the mill pool hall. Nothing special here. Parking is limited and the tables are not well maintained. Most have felt in dire need of replacing. The building is huge but under utilized. There are better pool halls in the bay area to shoot at.

Billiards or Pool? What do you call it? $ 8.00 per person on Tuesdays and Wednesdays Tina’s Tips and Tantrums — We didn’t even know there was a special! To be honest, I didn’t even know what day of the week it is. ever. Haha. So it was cheaper than we thought! — This place has a ton of pool tables, air hockey, foosball tables, and a ping pong table. Also, draft beer and a juke box. — Cashier/Owner person was friendly and didn’t need anything from us to get a pool table — Guy came around picking up empty beer cups — There’s a sign in the front saying that you have to be of age to come in at a certain time, but no one checks. Shhh, I didn’t tell you! — Not enough short sticks for me, but all in all… a great time with my cousin!

After living in the peninsula for the past 4 years and driving by this place I have finally stopped in. The place is open an spacious with plenty of pool tables but they could use some upgrading. Besides the tables they have a few arcades to keep you entertained if you’re not a billiard person. Prices are reasonable and would def come back again. Oh btw, the employees are very friendly. 8 ball corner pocket!!!

I love this place and its staff. A while ago I had a GNO(girls night out) party here. Reserved my tables a week a head of time, they had them ready for me, prices were reasonable and staff was friendly, so when it came time to having a birthday party for my husband I thought of this place. WOW, the staff was so extremely helpful, the helped me carry in my items, helped me set up, and had my pool tables ready for us. The staff came by regularly to see if we needed anything, they were just so great! 40 of our closest friends couldn’t stop talking about how great this place was, and how great of an idea it was to have a party here and how it was soooo much fun. Prices are extremely reasonable, the only thing that is tough is parking, but we could all use a little bit of exercise, right ;) Seriously, I highly recommend this place for FUN!!!
