Small family Italian restaurant. Napoli is almost like family to my girlfriend and I. Mikey is the guy you won’t want to stop talking to he will make you lagh and make sure dinner is an experience rather than just food. But the food is amazing, traditional no fancy quirky takes on Italian cooking, just cooking done right. Tops of the list, the aurora sauce, tortellini, and the spumoni ice cream cake. Go here, its better than the overpiced el david.

I ate here on Mother’s Day. It was delicious! And, I loved the friendly staff and family environment. We had the shrimp scampi cooked perfectly in a tasty sauce. The bruchetta(sp?) Was fresh and delicious. I had the homemade cheese ravioli in a Alfredo sauce. And some meatballs in marinara on the side. Everything was so frigid good. I can’t wait to eat here again.

I’d definitely come here again. As a whole, the place just works. It is not a huge place, but the staff is very accommodating from what I saw and the noise level is low enough that you can hold good conversations with those around you. I kinda wish I could give this place 4.5. It really was an all around good experience but not the best Italian food I’ve had. Still really tasty though, don’t get me wrong. We were seated immediately which was nice on a Saturday night. Just a few people at the bar watching the game and two families seated towards the back of the restaurant. Well ok, one was there when we got there and one had been seated just before we had left. I’d come here with a family too if able, but I’m single so no luck there. My friends will have to do xD Gina and Mikey holding down the front worked really well. They were both talkative, engaged, and had a good sense of humor. Over the course of the meal they were very attentive and checked in to see how each piece of the meal was. Donato was laid back and added charm to the restaurant as the owner. I thought this was the area that shined the most from the experience in my opinion. For the food I had the eggplant parmigiano, and the stuffed mushrooms. I rather wish I had just ordered one of these since by the end I was satisfied with leftovers. I could eat it all but getting completely stuff would just kill me in the end. *Side note: home made bread? With a hint of nice herbs, probably rosemary I think? I scarfed those down so I don’t remember really examining their contents unfortunately… But yes, I should’ve refrained from one or turned one into a salad. Don’t get me wrong. I love cheese. Lots of it. All kinds. I shouldn’t eat that much of it. Both the mushrooms and eggplant were well cooked, the flavors were on point with not too much sauce to over power the other ingredients. The eggplant also came with rigatoni. Again, could’ve bypassed one dish but I always like trying as much as possible when I’m at a place. The stuffing in the mushroom was clean, had good flavor and was well spiced. When I’m back in the area again, I’d definitely consider making another trip to this place although I don’t think I could do multiple says in a row. My waistline would not like me so much then.

We ordered for delivery, the woman on the phone was nice. I ordered a pepperoni pizza with garlic bread with plates, napkins, cheese and peppers. It arrived shortly and it looked delicious,(see photo), but what we ate wasn’t that good. There was no napkins, plates, cheese or peppers. The pizza was very very bland, I couldn’t tell what it tasted like. It had no flavor whatsoever, and it was like a Safeway pop in the oven pizza. But even that pizza has more flavor than this one! The garlic bread wasn’t cooked all the way, it was very soft and not that warm or toasty. Perhaps the other items on the menu are better than the pizza and I’ll try dining another time without getting the pizza.

OMG. Family dinner at its best. The staff is mostly family and it shows in the service and the food. Pasta and pizza like momma used to make. I highly recommend!

The pizza was delicious, and the staff was Belding over backwards to serve us. We came in with a hungry toddler who was not a happy camper. They welcomed is in and immediately started up a small individual cheese pizza to accommodate him. The server was extremely kind to us and he went out of his way to try and entertain our toddler. The pizza is great, we devoured it, and the canoli was really tasty as well. If we lived near by we’d come back in a heartbeat.

Napoli’s a casual Italian restaurant smack dab in the middle of downtown San Rafael. I wouldn’t exactly call this place super fancy, but the food is fresh and filling. The«small» calzone I got could’ve fed two(but I was hungry), and the stromboli was well made.

Really great Italian restaurant! People are so nice and food was so good. The pizza had the best crust I’ve had in a long time! You’re also able to modify your pasta to your liking. Oh and the cannoli had the best filling I’ve ever had! It was so smooth and creamy. Perfect amount of cinnamon and sugar. We are definitely going back :)

Had a great time at Napoli last night celebrating my friend’s birthday. The food we ordered was outstanding(and my friend is a self-proclaimed food snob). Service was exceptional and the wines we ordered were perfect for the meal — pizza, carbonara and tortellini with Aurora sauce. Looking forward to having my left-over pizza for lunch.

My daughter & I were looking for a kid friendly restaurant for her daughter and Napoli came up on Unilocal as one. I have been to Napoli several times before, but not with a little one(14 mo. old). We were greeted immediately upon entering by the owner who interacted with my granddaughter in a charming way. Our server was also extremely playful with our little one. There is a kids menu which is nice. The home made bread rolls are fantastic and the pasta dishes solid. The server recommended an old vine Zin from Lodi that was excellent. A sweet little mom & pop Italian restaurant with friendly service. If you’re looking for a casual restaurant with solid Italian food that welcomes kids, this is the place

Pretty damn good. My husband and I come here for the Stromboli! It is sooooo good! This is what we usually get if we’re just coming to pick up. If we dine in, we tend to get the pasta(and then split the Stromboli. lol) I’ve had the linguine in pesto sauce and it’s delicious! I like their portions: lots of linguine and lots of sauce. I feel like a lot of places don’t put enough sauce on their pasta. Their linguine with clams is also good! Try it out! I wish they had a bigger dining area though, I always feel so smushed when we’re in there. It is a cute little restaurant though with a lot of character.

Dinner for 3. — Ambiance(4⁄5) Super homey, cozy, authentic Italian vibe. — Service(5⁄5) Very personable and courteous service. — Bread(4⁄5) Homemade and piping hot. Nice crust. — Veal Marsala, $ 19(4⁄5) Nice cuts of meat with a good sauce, though I would have liked my veal to be pounded a bit thinner and a bit more tender. Seasoned broccoli and al dente pasta. All very good. The minestrone that came with was also quite delicious. — Medium Meat Pizza, $ 19.95(4⁄5) Reasonably good baked crust on the pizza and ample toppings. Doesn’t make me forget about New Haven pizza, but for the Bay Area, it’s a decent pizza. — Value(4⁄5) Everything here is quite affordable– a true family style Italian restaurant. — Final Word A great spot if you’re looking for a place to wind down the day, sip a little wine, eat some comfort Italian food. It’s not a ritzy, fancy place, but as a family restaurant, it totally hits the mark.

Such a great place to dine, you truly feel at home. The food is just beyond fantastic. Calamari was perfectly crispy with a deliciously tangy ragu, the bread is just out of this world with the perfect outside crunch and inside doughiness, and the pizza is great! Watch out, their jalapeños are hot! The only reason why it didn’t get a perfect score is that they really cram the tables in, but hey, you gotta pay the rent and I respect that. I will be back!

Fantastico! Napoli is a wonderful little neighborhood restaurant run by an incredibly friendly and welcoming Italian family. The first time I had dinner here my friend and I skipped the pizza and ordered two very delicious entrees. He’s Italian and we both agreed that our experience felt more like walking into a friend’s house for a home cooked meal, rather than a restaurant. More recently, Kevin B. and I ordered pizzas for an event we hosted at the American Legion’s Dugout Bar in San Anselmo. This was our first time ordering pizza from Napoli and the group loved it! We received a free pizza with our order(I believe the 5th pie is free), and were even able to accommodate both vegan and gluten-free Unilocalers. Best of all, the staff was so incredibly kind and carried all of the food out to my car. They even threw in extra cheese and peppers for us! If you’re looking for a cozy atmosphere, tasty Italian food, and amazing service Napoli doesn’t disappoint. It’s the perfect place to bring the family, go on a date, or grab pizza for a party. Give Napoli a try if you’re in the ‘hood– I guarantee the family will take care of you from the moment you walk through the door!

I recently hosted a game night/happy hour at the American Legion’s Dugout Bar in San Anselmo. Since it was a Sunday Summer evening and I was expecting a bunch of hungry Unilocalers, I thought pizza would be the perfect pairing. Turns out I was right. After all, who doesn’t love pizza, right? After doing an extensive search of local pizza parlors, we discovered that Napoli in San Rafael offered the most bang for the buck. We wound up ordering 12 large cheese pizzas + 1 gluten-free pizza. The whole shebang only cost me $ 166. It easily fed 40 hungry hungry hippos. Judging by all the empty pizza boxes, the food was clearly a hit. Long story short — if you’re interested in having a bunch of folks at your house(whether it’s for a movie night or tailgate party) and you’re on a tight budget, don’t call Domino’s or Roundtable. Instead, give Napoli pizza a ring. Your guests will thank you for it!
