Doesn’t this look like the epitome of a good time! Life in Santa Barbara and a visit to Silvergreens one of our favorite eateries we’ve been enjoying since their beginning. It’s our great little neighborhood hot spot. Thank you Chris for always providing a great healthy meal as well as that warm welcoming comfortable environment to enjoy ourselves! Paul & Christy

Usually there is really good food here and acceptable service, but today I was incredibly disappointed. I ordered a milkshake and it didn’t arrive so I waited until the lunch rush calmed a bit and asked for my milkshake. The cashier told me that it a rule that even though I paid for it, and it shows it on the iPad register that I ordered it, that I still have to pay for a new one since its against their policy.

Food is awesome and can’t beat the price. Smaller portions so you can mix and match and the service is good and fast. Good selection too

Stopped by Silvergreens on the drive down from the Bay Area to LA, and it wasn’t anything special. The place itself is really cute, and reminds me of Urth in LA. I ordered the kids chicken teriyaki bowl with the strawberries and strawberry lemonade. Originally, I had asked for the cucumber mint lemonade, but the cashier said they were all out.(This was around 1:30) I was kind of bummed because of that, but I just opted for the strawberry lemonade. After we sat down and started eating, the ladies in line behind us sat down near us, and guess what? They had cucumber mint lemonade, even though we were told they were«out,» and I could hear one moaning over how good it was. :( My teriyaki chicken was pretty good, but was a little dry and could have used more chicken for the amount of rice they give you. The brown rice, however, is pretty flavorful. As for the strawberries, they looked pretty old even though they’re advertised as «fresh strawberries.» I understand that it’s not berry season, but I think they should serve other fruit instead of subpar strawberries. My dad got a turkey sandwich, which he liked, even though they told him it was a hot sandwich when it wasn’t. I tried his fries, and they were so good and I loved the seasoning on it. Overall, I might come back if I’m in the area and want to try something they’re more known for, but otherwise, probably not.

I guess if you’re into eating healthy, you’ll enjoy this place. but unfortunately, what i didnt like was that I THOUGHT it was a restaurant with servers but its kind of like a fast food place, you order at the register, and sit and wait for your food. 3 stars for that. the food was good. lots of fiber. coolers taste… healthy lol. so bring sugar.

I love how they’ve added Kyle’s kitchen to their menu options. Can never go wrong with anything on the menu. I try to get something different every time I go, but I am a sucker for the turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich.

My boyfriend and I went to Santa Barbara and were originally planning to eat at Opal on State Street for lunch, but were denied service because we happened to walk in at that odd time of the day between lunch and dinner, which was a bummer. After looking up a few nearby places on Unilocal,we both agreed on Silvergreens, which was a few blocks of walking away. I was a bit let down because I had my heart set on fine dining, but Silvergreens was a pleasant surprise. I was a little confused when we first walked in, having never been there before. I wasn’t sure if it was restaurant-style or Panera-esque in that you order and pay at the counter and once it’s made it’s brought to you. It was the latter. I wish I’d gotten the name of the guy who helped us because he was incredibly patient and friendly with us. The menu took a minute to decipher. The pricing is meant to be easy to understand, but with the various extra charges for customisation, it gets convoluted. I ordered the Earth Burger(handmade organic veggie patty, crushed avocado, arugula, caramelized onions, sprouts, tomatoes, garlic aioli, wheat bun) coupled with a small Farmhouse Salad(field greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, croutons, garbanzo beans, sprouts, pepitas, dressing) for the $ 9 «Pair it!» promotion. BF ordered a large Kyle’s Kobb salad(field greens, bleu cheese, hardwood smoked bacon, hardboiled egg, avocado, tomatoes, dressing, roll) with chicken($ 9), Fire Fries(fries and crispy onions, pepperjack cheese, jalapeños, jalapeño ranch; $ 4.50), and a pint of 805($ 5). The wait for food was about fifteen minutes. I didn’t take a picture of my burger to post because I was starving by the time our food arrived and scarfed it down. I can confidently say that despite my hunger, the Earth Burger patty is hands down the best veggie patty I’ve ever eaten. I’ve been a vegetarian for more than half of my life and tried countless variations. I assumed that what I’d be getting would be a run-of-the-mill Garden Burger imitation. The menu had said it was a handmade patty, but so many places take liberties with their descriptions that I figured it would be the same old thing. Let me tell you, I’ve been thinking about that patty all week. I loved it, my boyfriend loved it. It was incredibly flavourful with a not-too-crumbly texture. Imagine a cartoon chef with a curly moustache kissing his fingertips… c’est magnifique! My salad was nothing special. It needed more dressing, but the croutons were tasty. Boyfriend really liked his. You can see from my photo that they don’t skimp on the fixins. The Fire Fries were awesome. I wish I could handle spicy stuff because I was taking baby dips of the dressing that came with it. Definitely eating here again next time I’m in SB. I wish them success so they can spread to other cities that are closer!

They have changed their concept /food /décor once again. Burger deal for $ 9 bucks isn’t worth it. All bun and no meat, fries are limp, service not so great. No reason to come back again.

If I could eat here every day, I would. I got the Earth burger(veggie patty, sprouts, avocado, caramelized onions, tomato, and arugula on a wheat bun). BESTBURGER I’ve had in a while! The first thing that came out of my mouth after biting in to it was«ohmygod». The burger was stacked with ingredients, and for $ 5, I considered it a steal! The bun was SO soft and warm — I couldn’t get enough of it. While a lot of other veggie patties are flavorless and dry, this one was well seasoned and you knew exactly what was in it(you can see the quinoa held together by chickpea mash). The caramelized onions also added to the amazing flavor of this burger. Even if you’re not a vegetarian, you should give this burger a try! My boyfriend got the cheesy pig with a side of chicken noodle soup — all for $ 10! The soup was alright(good amount of chicken and not too salty), but the real star of the show was his burger. It had two pieces of bacon on top of a big slice of cheddar cheese. According to him, the bacon was cooked«juuust right — not too crunchy, not too soft». The brioche bun was crispy, light, and buttery without being overbearing. We both walked out of there feeling just the right level of fullness and very satisfied. I’m already counting down the days till I come back to Santa Barbara for another delicious meal at Silvergreen!

Very pleasant, very fast service with fresh and tasty food. Lots of healthy, somewhat vegetarian-friendly options. We each got full portion salads; my husband’s ahi salad was well-worth the price but I was surprised at how small and with minimal chicken(no good vegetarian protein options, meh), my Summer BBQ salad was for almost the same price. Dressings were made from scratch and savory. Lots of sandwich and side options that were all very tempting; however, mac ‘n’ cheese was sub-par; wouldn’t recommend. Very flavorless cheese and the macaroni itself was overcooked and slightly mushy. Regardless, it was a refreshing, quaint but no-nonsense welcoming dinner spot in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara.

This place should be called Golden Greens Cus they earned a gold medal in my book. Fuck Silver. This place is awesome. I went under protest and I had to eat some humble pie once the meal was done. The food is delicious. The portions are nice. The ingredients are quasi-healthy and the price is right. I will be back over and over again when I’m in town. The two dinner meal deal is the way to go too!

Great place for a quick breakfast. Dog friendly outdoor seating. Food came out pretty quick after we ordered. The Gaucho Bacon Sandwich Combo — $ 4.50 + $ 3 — Very good bacon egg breakfast sandwich. The combo was a waste, I needed the coffee but the hash brown was meh. PJ Steak Burrito — $ 7.95 — Steak was very tender. You also get the normal breakfast burrito fillings. I never understand why they give you a small scoop of salsa with your big burrito. I had to go in and get more. Overall, good quick meal.

Thank goodness Silvergreens is one of the food delivery options serviced through Restaurant Connection since my hubby and I were exhausted from our long day, but didn’t want to leave our hotel room(we were also recovering from our illness and starving). We attempted to eat a pizza we brought back to our room at the recently now-closed restaurant located in the same building of the hotel we were staying at(Hotel Indigo), but it was so horrible, that we threw it away after a few bites in. We were still starving, so I searched frantically on my phone’s Unilocal app for a decent restaurant that delivered in the area. Fortunately, Restaurant Connection and Silvergreens fulfilled our simple requirements. I ordered the tomato basil soup, mandarin crunch salad with chicken and my husband ordered the chicken alfredo pasta entrée. Our dinner was delivered to our hotel room in a matter of 45 minutes and all three orders were delicious and full of flavor. I loved that my soup was still piping hot. The salad had so many tasty ingredients and they put a generous serving of it in my above average salad. I was really satisfied with our dinner that I nearly called the restaurant to tell them that, lol. We enjoy quick getaways to Santa Barbara, so the next time we find ourselves back here, we will certainly grab a meal at Silvergreens since we were super happy with everything we’ve tried so far.

It was around 8pm, and we were desperately searching for a reasonably priced place to eat dinner, and then a giant power outage happened throughout downtown Santa Barbara! We followed the light to a few streets over where the power was on, and continued our search for dinner. When we stumbled upon Silvergreens, we determined that it was just what we were looking for. This place kind of reminds me of a mix between Veggie Grill(healthy foods) and Panera Bread(lots of bread and baked goods). The first thing I noticed about their menu was that they served half size options, and I appreciate that SOMUCH! I can rarely finish my food at restaurants with such large portion sizes, so I always get excited when these options are presented to me! I ordered a half of a turkey-bacon-avocado sandwich, which came with a cookie — I got a brookie(brownie-cookie). We also got a local strawberry lemonade. My sandwich was pretty great! Next time, I would probably ask for non-toasted bread, but that is just my preference. There wasn’t too much avocado on my sandwich, and I could barely tell that it was there. My brookie was SO delicious, so I’m glad I made that choice of cookie. It was very rich, and tasted like a dark chocolate cookie, so it wasn’t overly sweet. The strawberry lemonade was amazing, the best I’ve ever had! If I was a local, I would eat here often.
