Starbucks

By far one of the best Starbucks in town. Situated in La Cumbre mall, this location is just perfect. The interior is cozy with dim lightening and a few high top tables not ideal for those who like to work indoors. But only a few steps away you can soak up the Santa Barbara sun in one of many patio tables outdoors while enjoying their free wi-​fi. Service is quick and efficient regardless if it’s busy or not.
New flavors are always on the board, but it’s nice to stick to the basics.

This is hands down my favorite Starbucks in town. I work in the mall and come here at least 3 – 4 times a week. The staff is all super friendly, they remember my name and my drink order. While they can sometimes get super busy, the staff is great at moving quickly and keeping the line going. Wish there was a little more space inside, but the awesome staff makes up for any size issues.

This is one if not one of the best Starbucks that I go to. They know you by name if you are a regular and just overall friendly staff. They take the time to make sure that your order is right and are overall satisfied. They are prompt and precise and can tell that they have fun and enjoy what they do!

Our local Starbucks and a great location due to it’s precise location, if that makes sense. This store is in the La Cumbre Plaza just off State Street. Not much seating inside, but do they need it? This is Santa Barbara. Weather is almost always perfect. The abundance of seating outside is what I like about this store. It’s plentiful and peaceful.
Staff is super friendly and they’ll get your orders right. I recently saw a woman drop her entire venti latte over one of the tall tables and it spilled all over the stools around it. A staff member immediately stopped what they were doing to help her clean it up and even made her a fresh one. Good friendly service if you ask me.
It can get decently crowded early in the mornings on the weekends, but this is why Starbucks has their mobile ordering system. If you visit a Starbucks even once a month and don’t have the app, you’re missing out. I usually order 3 – 5 minutes before I arrive and my coffee is always waiting for me when I get there. No line waiting at all.

As far as Starbucks go, this one is average. They get my orders right, its usually clean, I only sometimes have to ask for another ½ & ½ container. I’ll keep going back since it’s across the street from work but really there’s nothing outstanding or special about this one.

It’s Starbucks — land of white girls and people shamelessly drinking their 700 calorie drinks.

The people are great and the coffee is even better. Very friendly people. My favorite is the iced chai tea latte with soy and vanilla and how these guys make it never seems to fail me. Pretty awesome.

Very friendly baristas but they need to clean there coffee shop!!! Customers were having to clean the tables themselves and the glass doors and windows need a much needed bath!!!

I came here when I was waiting for my oil to get changed in hopes of getting some studying done. It was freezing inside, there was reggae music blasting, and the kid working the register didn’t acknowledge me for a couple minutes. I got my drink and headed outside to find a table, but outside there is no lighting (fair enough). I am not a huge Starbucks fan, and usually only go there out of convenience but there is definitely a «Starbucks standard» which this location fails to meet.

I try to avoid this Starbucks if I can, but decided to tempt fate today as the Five Points location parking lot is under major construction. Anyways, I usually avoid La Cumbre Starbucks due to its terribly slow service — 15 mins for an ICED COFFEE — and they didn’t even need to make it, it was already brewed! There are constantly new employees — very high turnover — which contributes in my opinion to the lack of effort, continuity, and friendliness of almost every Starbucks I have been to. Plus it is the TINIEST Starbucks I have ever been in.

I’ve been putting off this review in the hopes that they would get better with some staff turn over but they haven’t. I will drive to five points and go to that Starbucks over this one any day. And I do. I only go here when I’m shopping or a friend is driving and I’m always disappointed. My drinks are consistently made wrong. And when I’m getting a coffee it’s because I have a crap ton of stuff to do that day and don’t have time to wait for 15 min for a drink that easily could have been ordered and made within 5 if made right the first time.

The employees here treated us so well. We ordered our drinks and the staff noticed my five year old had a birthday shirt on. She asked her how old she was. Then when we were waiting for our drinks one of the baristas gave our whole family free cake pops. They even upgraded our kids drinks to Venti’s. Super sweet staff! Other Starbucks could learn from them.

I so badly want to give this location a good review but I have visited too many times and been disappointed-​have to say that this Starbucks has such a high turnover and maybe this accounts for their inability to make a consistently good drink, specifically their lattes. I really think it’s the lack of training. Almost every other location makes their drinks consistently, but at this one, they either let the espresso shots sit too long (causing a burnt taste) or fill it overflowing with milk (which dilutes the taste) or serves it lukewarm. They are also 5x slower than any of the other locations in town. Whatever it is they are doing, more times than not, I walk away frustrated and vowing never to go there again.

The employees are friend and nice.
It seems like Starbucks train their staff for all the Santa Barbara stores here in this one. It seems like the new people train here and then movie to other stores, except for the ones who have been there for years.
The only problem with this Starbucks is that is small.

Very green apron! Nothing to complain about here. Partners moved fast and were always friendly despite the sour faced rude customers who ordered in-​between text messages and ongoing phone conversations.
For those who find their store too small and the their service too slow, trying getting off the phone and look the person behind the counter in the eye when ordering and stop treating them like a barely tolerable app on your phone.

I really like the layout of this Starbucks. There is a variety of seating choices (long wooden benched tables, small armchairs, and standard tables, with outdoor seating as well), with plenty of electric sockets for laptop use. And being that this Starbucks isn’t the biggest, I think they use the space nicely. My drinks have always been made just fine here, and the baristas are friendly. Parking is pretty easy, so what more could you ask for? A great location to stop at after a morning workout at Spectrum!

This is one Starbucks that completely fails to deliver on the brand experience Howard Schultz set out to bring to Americans years ago. On top of that, my beverage wasn’t that great.

Came here when one of my high schools students did not want to go into Wet Seal… so we came here and talked about his college options etc… The night crew was really nice and they chatted with their regulars while cleaning up for the night… no complaints here

I liked to stop by this Starbucks when I was doing some shopping. Some of my favorite Starbucks concoctions:
— nonfat extra foamy misto with sugar free vanilla
— americano with caramel drizzle (the caramel sauce that usually goes on frappuccinos… so rich and gooey!)
— coffee light frappuccino
— green tea frappuccino
A good place to meet up with friends too… yum! I would definitely hit up the local coffee shops as well but have nothing against the ever-​reliable Starbucks!
