Not really that good, we walked in and it was empty at lunch hour! Had the mackerel and it was okay. Tables not really clean. Not a lot of choices. The white rice was good and the miso was warm.

Once again. The taste of the fish is so fresh I can’t get enough of it. The price still very fair for the a lot of food you get. And the service from the owner is so lovely. I love her smile makes you feel welcome.

First off, I don’t know how this place is rating so high on Unilocal. The portions are decent size but it’s toward the bottom rung of the two dozen sushi restaurants I have eaten at over the years. I ordered the Miso, Fire Dragon Role, Rainbow Scallop Role, and green tea. All of the food was VERY mediocre and all of it was overly salty. In trying to figure out what was so salty I ate parts of the roles separately and it turned out the ‘fresh’ fish definitely had salt or something on it. The ‘crab’ mayo filling also was very salty. I’ve honestly had better ‘fresh fish’ from the grocery store sushi bar. The tofu in the Miso had a bit of a mushy texture like it was sitting in the pot for too long. The green tea even tasted like it was brewed in too hot of water and the leaves were burned. The table sitting behind me even commented to the server that the tea tastes like it toasted sesame seeds. At $ 32 before tip for just myself I defiantly cannot recommend this place to others. The 5 piece roles should be closer to $ 8 – 9 for what they are serving, not $ 14.

We went at 130 and it was DEAD just us there so we were nervous about the quality but it was really good. My eel was slightly burnt on some pieces so that’s why they 4 stars and the rolls are in such big pieces it was hard to eat so next time I’ll ask them to cut it into smaller pieces.

Came by for dinner the other night and it was an okay experience. Service by the Korean lady(owner’s wife) was slightly challenging due to language barriers… She asked if it would be okay if food came 30+ minutes due to large orders the kitchen received… but I heard if it would be okay if I left the table within 30 minutes?!? Started off with the side salad which was okay. It was mainly a bowl of lettuce topped with some mayo-like dressing and a few nuts… The Fire Dragon Roll was decent although a few years back they used lighter and fluffier tempura along with spicy tuna instead of regular tuna… bummer. The roll was huge and had at least 10 pieces! Hot tea was complimentary! ~$ 20/head after tax and tip for dinner. *Tip* Park on El Camino if there is no room to park the Mercedes S Class in their tiny parking lot…

Not pretentious at all, but great food here, generous slices of fish and everything is fresh! Don’t live nearby, otherwise would be a regular after one time!

Well worth the drive. This place is a diamond in the ruff. Hidden but well worth the look. Very clean place. Small but authentic. Calm music and great tea. Will be definitely coming back

Definitely a place for rolls. About 25 kinds. Some of them are generously stuffed with fish. The fish itself is fairly average quality, which is expected given how much they use. The chicken karage is very good. It has similar coating to Korean fried chicken thighs. No bento box offered. The place is small about8 or 9 tables.

The sushi is pretty good here. They have a lot of different options with good flavors. I really liked that they freshly baked the fish for the dish. They served it hot on the table.

They make stellar sushi. We ordered the volcano salmon roll(crab meat, avocado/baked salmon, green onion, spicy mayo sauce, $ 13) and the spider roll(soft shell crab, crab meat, avocado, cucumber, tobiko, $ 9). They were both full of flavor and just absolutely scrumptious. They were hefty in size, so bring your appetite. Parking was limited during lunch hour.

Happy sushi makes me happy! The fish is fresh, the flavor is clean and the rolls are huge. Also, the prices are very fair. This place is a home run, give it a try!

Small hole in the wall sushi place. We almost couldn’t find it because it was hidden in a small building. The sushi was okay… Not as fresh, food took a while to come out. There was only 2 other tables when we got there and There was only one lady taking orders and bringing the food out. She gave us a free appetizer(fried salmon bites)

It is hard to express the qualities that make a good experience memorable. I keep a regular check with my eating habits in the area. You can see exactly the places I like and dislike, but there’s no way to share this on Unilocal. This place is special. Not in their preparations. Not in their quality. Not in their location or services. What is special is that it is delightful. It simple is unprentious relaxing sushi. This is sushi as it is meant to be, a quiet, relaxing, casual experience. The owner is wonderfully sweet and friendly, always there to welcome. The sushi is good with interesting cuts and options. There’s a picture menu to help with selections. If you like recommendations, the vegan roll and the tuna roll are favorites. Vegan is celery and avocado. The tuna roll is celery and tuna. Both are simple and perfect. Upgrade with the DF Tuna roll for ‘medium’ which includes crunchy and spicy tempora. Pros can delight in the crazy assortment of Rainbow rolls. Families might want to try the Unagi(eel) and rice plate. I’m also a fan of the simple unagi roll. I greatly enjoy coming here, which we now do regularly. It’s located just past Tong Soon Garden(another favorite) on the South side of El Camino. It’s in a small half-strip mall with tight parking, so as you pass Tong Soon, drive slow and keep an eye to the right. It is the next entrance after the Tong Soon parking.

Great food and great service! Very accommodating for vegetarians and had a few more options than the usual cucumber/avocado roll, so that was a major plus! The walls and decoration were a little bland but what was a little peculiar was the security cameras that are pointing into each booth. Noticed it when we were waiting for our food but we forgot by the time we started eating. 1 Overall, not too packed, very casual and definitely worth going again!

My experience here was very lackluster. My 4 friends and I came here on a Friday night at 8pm. The place was near empty, with only 2 other parties there. There was only one lady working the front and you could tell there was probably only one chef in the kitchen because the food took FOREVER. I’m not too sure how this place for such high reviews. Maybe we came on a bad night. As a table we ordered 3 rolls, a charashi bowl, and an order of hamachi nigiri. The food was average– I didn’t think it wasn’t the best sushi sashimi I’ve ever had, not the worst. But what ruined my time here was the service. The waitress obviously did not want to be there, as we had to ask for water several times. When she brought out our food, she wouldn’t even walk around to place our orders on the table. Instead, she’d reach over the platform at our table side and expected us to grab it from her hands, even after we kept telling her that she could place it in the middle of the table since we were all sharing. I get that it’s a Friday night and no one really wants to be working, but you can definitely try harder than that. I probably won’t be back here any time soon.

4 stars for the fresh hamachi sashimi i got to devour a few nights ago. I have already made plans to visit again because: no wait times, good rolls, decent prices, fresh fish and it’s conveniently located near my house so it’s good when i want a quick sushi fix without the dreadful wait of the infamous sendai & cha cha sushi. 1. Hamachi sashimi: FRESH 2. Super hamachi 3. O E C 14: Good but needs a dash of sauce on top, it was a bit plain tasting. 4. Dos spicy: My sister enjoyed this but she wished there was a bit of a crunch to compliment the roll. She said it was a tad mushy with just the spicy tuna and crab meat. Good service. Water was constantly refilled and she didn’t seem too annoyed when we kept requesting for more ginger hehe: D

I don’t know if it’s because I walked in here with zero expectations, but this place was surprisingly decent. After having been burned one too many times by South Bay sushi joints, I was afraid to get my hopes up. This is no Maruya and it’s not as good as Sushi Tomi, but it’s a decent cheaper option for rolls. We got: Salmon maki roll(4⁄5): At $ 5.50 for six pieces, this was surprisingly good and a cheaper way to fill up without having to order as many rolls(which quickly add up). Summer Roll(4⁄5): This roll came with generous pieces of salmon and tuna. I thought the little piece of lemon on top gave it an odd sourness, but it was easy enough to pick off before eating. Sashimi plate(3⁄5): This was disappointing at $ 21 for nine pieces nigiri. The sashimi was tasted like it had been frozen and defrosted. I wouldn’t get this again. Overall, this place hit the spot for my sushi craving and is fairly cheap(we spent about $ 45 with tax). I’d stick with the rolls next time though.

Very generous sushi portions with plenty of fish. The scallop rules has a large piece of scallop on every single piece, definitely makes you feel like you got your moneys worth. The rice itself was not seasoned the way sushi rice should be tasted like plain rice. For the two of us three rolls was plenty of food for two girls. In general a good little place to come for decent sushi at a decent price.

Happy Sushi was SOYUMMY!!! It is close to work so I am sure I will be frequenting often. They could work on their customer service but I am not mad because the food was delicious! Me and my date split three rolls: Crispy Roll– 5 stars O Philly Roll — 5 stars Honolulu Roll — 4 stars Each roll was really massive, like hard to eat massive. The crush roll was loaded with shrimp and crab meat with added tempera flakes. The O’Philly was a nice change from a regular Philly Roll with added crab! Honolulu was something different and refreshing with the pineapple. Everything we ate was delicious and we were so full! One star off because even though there was one other couple in the entire please, the customer service was lacking. Water was never refilled and the waitrness was missing in action our entire meal until it was time to pay!
