Scv Smoke + Bbq

Won’t pay super high prices for mediocre (at best) BBQ again. Nice atmosphere, nice looking place and good location, but the prices at way too high and the BBQ don’t back up the prices.
Dr Hogly Wogly’s in the valley is worth the drive. If they keep hacking at the customer with these prices, I can’t see them being around for long. Great potential though.

I’ve eaten here 2 weeks in a row and loved it both times.
Last week we just got a smoked pork sandwich, it was all they had left by the time we went through the Farmers Market.
This week went back early, specifically for this. Generous portions are given for generous prices. A sandwich is $ 8 and it is a large sandwich.
A combo plate gets you a sandwich with potato salad and beans which is $ 9
This week we got both meats pulled pork and smoked pork. both meats are excellent. Beans are good with bits of porky goodness in them. Potato salad is nice and creamy with red bliss potatoes that had a good texture. The potato salad is of the egg free variety — FYI for all you potato salad aficionados out there. I am not a huge potato salad lover, but I thought it was good. I like my potato salad with out onions (only way I got it was when my grandmother would put aside a portion for me) This had onions and was too oniony for me, but I don’t really like onion flavor. If I got a combo again, I’d ask them to hold the potato salad for me, maybe see if I could get double beans.
This is definitely a reason to hit up the Newhall Farmer’s Market on Thursday nights. The owner told me generally he’s ready to start serving about 5 ish.
We brought the food home and it traveled well.
Definitely will be back.

Had the smoked pork last week at the farmers market. I loved it and so did my 3 year old. My 15 month old could not get enough of their beans. Hard to find something the whole family loves!
They also give you a lot of food for the price when compared to the other vendors at the market. The owner was super friendly too :)
