Down Hill FAST! I’ve been going here for a few years and getting less happy overtime. I’m afraid last time was my last. People there seem unhappy and the server had a personality like an open grave. Meal took almost 45 minutes — FORLUNCH — and was not very good at all. Vermicelli overcooked, tables«kinda dirty», old and tired. Don’t waste your time.

I ate here a couple of years ago and upon leaving I left a note on their counter which said something to the effect of.” Your windows are filthy and need cleaning”. The Vietnamese sandwich was good for lunch. A friend asked me to meet them for dinner today so gave it another try. They obviously didn’t read my note last time, nor have they ever cleaned the Windows since. The waiter was pleasant and when I told him I wanted a BBQ pork dish he recommended the pork and vermicelli noodle dish. The meat was a strange pink color and did not have the flavor of pork. I told my friend I thought it was beef disguised as pork. There wasn’t a lot of flavor to the dish and I left a large portion of it. With a fly buzzing around the table and cafeteria style feel of the dining room, I suggested to my friend we sit outside as there is an outdoor seating area. To my dismay, the seats were so dirty I had to put down some newspaper before sitting. Tables weren’t clean and there was little thought put to bringing any kind of pleasant ambiance outside. What a mediocre place. either all these people leaving stunning reviews don’t know what good Vietnamese food is or they’re related to the owners. Won’t return again.

Great selection! Very clean restaurant. Friendly staff, able to explain the different types of soups and noddles. First time, ready to try another dish.

I have lived in Hawaii for the last 15 years where good Phở is available everywhere. Trying various places in Santa Fe has been disappointing until I tried Phở Kim. The broth was flavorful and we received a big plate of tasty bean sprouts and fresh herbs — cilantro, Thai basil, jalapeño to add to the soup. I’ll be back to try the other dishes that looked tasty as well but it’s now my go to for great Phở.

The day I visited there was only one waiter during lunch. The service was slow. Some tables left because they didn’t receive any service. The waiter explained that the other person called in sick. The gentleman made his best effort servicing the tables so this rating is not about the slow service. I ordered phở with tendon, flank, and possibly well done beef. Both the tendon and the flank tasted old, like they’ve been in the fridge /freezer for a long time. The noodles were a bit chalky. Broth tasted good. Perhaps they should eliminate these conventional yet not-so conventional ingredients in this region if they don’t sell enough to keep the ingredients moving. The restaurant was clean.

This place is ok, the food here with some exceptions is pretty decent, I particularly liked their Phở. And while a little slow the service is likewise alright, with some visits better than others. On the other hand the Kitchen can be glacially slow, the Iced tea is vile, their Spring Rolls are like chewing on leather, and the prices are more than a bit high for the quality of food and services rendered, due to location no doubt. But even with the drawbacks I’d still eat here again, because the alternative is driving to Albuquerque for better Vietnamese.

Every time we’re in Santa Fe we eat at Phở Kim. The food is good and the people who work there are so sweet. The vegetarian phở is amazing!

Togo order of Phở was okay. Asked repeatedly for vegan, vegetarian and NO sesame oil. Now we threw away the pork spring rolls and my wife is taking Benadryl input hotel room because there is sesame oil on something. SKIP this place if you have allergies or preferences. *sigh*

Was with a picky eater and even he admitted it was great! Got the phở to go and my friend assembled everything in the car on our drive back to Albuquerque. Was a little awkward but so worth it! The ingredients were incredibly fresh and the textures complimented each other well from the crunchy mung beans to the tender meat. The broth was hot and satisfying. Will be a favorite stop when I am in Santa Fe.

This is an update to my original review in which I gave Phở Kim 5STARS. When my wife and I first moved back to NM after living in the Pacific Northwest for a while it was nice to go to Phở Kim for some descent phở. That was 2 years ago. Since then they have raised their prices although the quality of the food isn’t reflective of the price hike(greasy broth and almost $ 5.00 for bland spring rolls). A business has to raise their prices on occasion, I get it, but Phở Kim had no competition in the entire city and, in a way, holds the customers hostage. I mean, where else are we supposed to go? Something that really bothers me though is the fact that they charge $ 3.50 for«extra vegetables» and by vegetables I mean the greens and sprouts that come on the side of the phở soups. No other Vietnamese restaurant I have ever been to anywhere in the world has ever charged for some extra basil, cilantro or culantro. Today Phở Kim didn’t even have basil or culantro and the amount of cilantro they gave isn’t worth the $ 3.50 price tag, I mean, you can get an entire bushel of cilantro at Whole Foods for $ 2.00. Their food is okay if you are needing some phở in a pinch but not worth the price. It is worth it to save yourself for Phở 79 in ABQ. The servers who work at Phở Kim are always very friendly and on top of their game so no issues there.

Excellent service, great tasting food. I have my favorite spots in Albuquerque but this place blows them away. Food was fresh and you could taste it. Will be back.

Come on guys! Minus stars because they give out fortune cookies?! It’s a free cookie. You can take it or leave it. Personally, I thought this place was so tasty! I got an avocado smoothie which was made with real avocados. Oh my gooood. It was like melty buttery deliciousness in my mouth. Then we got the cha gio which wasn’t anything amazing but still good. For the main foods I had the banh mi bo kho… Holy moly! The broth was so savory and delicious, AND! The baguette was so fresh and warm! Crispy and flakey on the outside and warm and soft on the middle. I died. I would def Come here all the time if I lived here. They have a huge selection.

I am pretty sure children are running this place, which is impressive if you ask me. Both times I showed up on the weekend there wasn’t a person that looked over 17. It was like the Lost Boys of Neverland worked here. The phở tai was definitely decent, although the broth was a bit on the oily side. However, if I were to go back, that’s what I would order. I’m sad to report that the spring rolls are ridiculously sloppy and the pork that came in them were hot pink and sparse. I’d probably steer clear of them. 2 rolls for 3.99? Bleh. I had 2 bites before deciding it wasn’t worth the calories. I don’t understand how a cheap metal pot of tea with like 15 tea leaves cost me $ 4. You better believe I poured the rest of it into my clean kanteen to go! For just $ 3 more at one of the most expensive Chinese restaurants in San Francisco, CA you can get a huge glass teapot of gorgeous flowering Jasmine tea. $ 4 for a pot of tea here is seriously embarrassing. Something a little strange is that they give you fortune cookies at the end of the meal. What? I have never seen such a thing at a Vietnamese restaurant. They either need to start offering Chinese dishes on their menu or just stop. But even with all their faults it’s hard to be upset when there really are such few Vietnamese places in the area.

Love eating PHO when it is cold and you want something to eat keep you warm and fuzzy. It’s your typical Vietnamese restaurant, not so busy to all of sudden people out of nowhere come in. Could careless about the service but the quality of the food. Reason why for the 2 stars… I got the chicken phở within 5 minutes when I ordered which surprised me. Came in a decent size of the bowl, boat load of noodles, chicken, and small plate veggies. That’s the fun part about eating phở! Haha :(The taste of the broth was not very fulfilling and flavorful. Very bland and adding jalapeños, hoisin, and sriracha sauce didn’t make a difference. Finished everything except ¾ layer of oil of broth. No thanks for the warm/fuzzy feeling I was looking forward to! Guess I’ll deal with feeling cold on the inside and outside. Overall I would not recommend this place for phở or Vietnamese food in general. By the way one more note, true Vietnamese restaurants do not give Chinese fortune cookies at the end of your meal! :)

Hard to believe how un-delicious this food was. Of note, the meat was all very low quality. The only edible meals were the soups. Avoid the bun at all costs.

Aside from having a good laugh at the name, my experience at Phở Kim was average. I had the shrimp noodle bowl while my wife had the seafood one. Both seemed a little light on ingredients, being mainly broth with a few noodles and seafood chunks scattered here and there. The broth lacked flavor; I had to douse mine with sriracha to keep my taste buds interested. The service was good – our waiter was very friendly and attentive. The price seemed reasonable. But nothing was exceptional. I will have to try the other Vietnamese joints in Santa Fe to see if there is a better option here. For the time being, if I am in need of a good fix, I’ll hit up ABQ.

Great food, service for our family of 4. We are from out of town visiting and Unilocal helped again. Phở was great, the rice /vermicelli plates were awesome, and the stir fry was good. Oh I can’t forget the appetizers(spring rolls and egg rolls) The only complaint is that we got full quickly. This is the place to be. Our high school teens liked it and we loved our server Puma. When we come back to Santa Fe, we will be back.

Phở Kim is my favorite restaurant in Santa Fe and their phở is phenomenal! When I am in town, I stop in at least twice a week. My go-two dishes are the combination pork and shrimp spring rolls, the #13 rare steak and brisket phở, and the pork and shrimp vermicelli bowl w/egg rolls. The ingredients are always fresh and fragrant. During the winter, expect a wait. There is usually a constant flow of customers looking to fill their bellies with warm and cheap Vietnamese food. The summer season is much slower. The staff is young but attentive. Also, the restaurant gets creativity points for its name. I love Phở Kim!
