Pizza was great, however we ate in the bar and the waitress, who sounded like she was billy holes girlfriend in «white men can’t jump», checked on us once in an hour. Too busy playing grab ass with her bus boy boyfriend at the bar. If you want good service eat in the restaurant portion. The bar is not watched over and nobody seems to care.

Would leave 0 stars if possible. Just walked in and stood at the front for 15 minutes and 0 people came to seat us or anything. I proceeded to leave, what horrible customer service!!!

My family has been coming here since I was a LITTLE kid… And I can definitely say that it has been yearly slowly going down hill. The pizza still taste good, just not AS good as it used to! The service(because they are usually so jam packed lately) isn’t the loving family chit-chat from the servers like it used to be. And refills are hard to come by… But the food is still good, and the ambiance still reminds me of Italy! You should try it, just so you can say you did… But it’s nothing SPECTACULAR!!!

I stop here on my way home sometimes to pick up some lasagna. The place is always full no matter what day or time so recommend ordering ahead if it’s a to go order. I have only had the lasagna and it has great flavor but the sauce is at times overwhelming. I will definitely be back.

We were in town visiting family and wanted some pizza. This is my cousins favorite local pizza place so we order takeout. We got a large meat pizza and a large antipasto salad. When we went to pick up our order everything was ready to go. I liked that they showed us our pizza to make sure it was to our liking. The staff was quick and professional. The flavor of the sauce on the pizza was really good and fresh tasting. They put the cheese over the top of the toppings which is different but good. The only thing I noticed was that everyone kept losing their toppings. Maybe the cheese helps hold them on? Not sure but I know without a doubt that no one was complaining. The antipasto salad was good however I didn’t care for the dressing– it was just vinegar and oil. I would rather have a good Italian. They also included a loaf of French bread. The price was also very good for the amount of food we received. We will definitely rerun when we are in the area again.

We went in on a Friday night, it was extremely busy so i did understand the slower service a little bit. The bar was awesome while we waited for our table. Finally got sat for dinner and the service was just so slow, which at this point it was not as busy. Had to ask another server for water, waited 10 minutes after our food arrived and still our server never returned, had to go to the bar and get my own drink. Getting our check and paying took awhile and every time I was looking for our waitress she was over socializing towards another group. Not impressed by the service received that night at all, but the food was good.

I have been to this location a couple time over the last year. The food is very good compared to some other locations. The pizza has a lot of toppings and the crust is nice and thick. I personally think the antipasto salad is not as good. They did not put mortadella on the family sized salad and most other locations do. They also used a different dressing that was put directly on top and did not fully dress the salad. The garlic cheese bread is awesome and of course the warm bread the serve with the salad is very good. Service has been great every time. We have had one waitress twice and she was simply amazing. The servers do whatever they can to make sure your experience is wonderful. The service can be a little slow sometimes but it is not due to the employees, they get extremely busy and the employees do the best they can. Overall this is a pretty good location. I still love downtown the best and I like Mission Gorge but out ranks Kearny Mesa and the location on Jamacha.

Wonderful experience. We live in the area but had never been here before! We were craving Italian and really wanted more authentic pasta than Olive Garden, and Unilocal recommended this place! The food portions are large and more than enough! And the salad, garlic bread and soup that the dinners come with are honestly more than enough! The sauce is so yummy and everything is perfect. But what made our dinner was the amazing and personal experience we received from Peggy! She was so sweet and made our first experience am here a wonderful one. Can’t wait to come back! So happy we found this place.

One of our fav local family restaurants. The pepperoni pizza is amazing, so cheesy and loaded with layers of pepperoni. Antipasto salad is delicious and great to share. House Lambrusco is great but only available by the bottle… we will keep coming back!

This place is yummy. Lunch specials(I had lasagna and bread sticks) are hearty and delicious. My entrée was served with bread. I tried to substitute bread for salad but that was a no go. I try to be carb conscious but this would be the wrong place to be. They brought the bread and, well… you can’t leave perfectly fine bread just sitting around. Especially when there are little packets of the most heavenly butter calling to you. I had the antipasto salad the week before and it was also delicious. I’ll be back to try more.

Service was crap in the bar… had to ask numerous times for service … Not going back… the regular crowd gets the service… Well good luck… must be why the bar was empty on Friday night Kearny Mesa never experienced such unprofessional service…

Feel Like I just got ripped off, I ordered two medium pizzas one Hawaiian and pepperoni sausage with mushrooms and 2 small Pepsi charge was $ 40.42 ! for two medium Pizzas! However must tell you they both where fantastic Pizzas ! but not worth the $ 40.42 charge ! I will not be going back to this location

The pizza is covered in cheese and probably three times the calorie content of a. Average size of pizza due to the fact, but it is delicious. The large antipasto salad comes with bread and you can literally make a torpedo sandwich with the amount of meat and cheese you get on it. This place is NOT for those trying to watch what they eat. But if calories don’t count — and you are looking for yumminess, totally check this place out.

First timer right here. Came here on a Thursday afternoon per request of my child’s hunger for pizza. We ordered a 9inch half pepperoni half pepperoni with olives. It was great. Bread was amazing. It was crispy and fluffy! And holy cow. The cheese. An abundance for sure! Def let that sucker cool down before you take a slice. Also ordered a side salad and bread. The bread was tasty and warm. The salad was good, but it was still soaked with water which made me put extra dressing to get a good taste. The bottom of the salad bowl had a nice half inch puddle of water. Another thing, the waitress could have been a littttttttle bit more personable. More friendly to say the least. I mean, don’t get me wrong, she wasn’t out right rude, but her demeanor wasn’t what you’d expect from a server. But the girl who greeted us and sat us(darker skinned, short dark hair with a shell necklace) was the sweetest ever. Maybe promote her to server if she already isn’t? Anywho. Despite the lack of hospitality from the server, I would return, esp for the tasty goodness my mouth endured!

Came here for the first time on Sunday and I am in love! This is definitely my new favorite Italian restaurant. The food is simply mouthwatering and delicious. We ordered lasagna and that was perfect, we ordered chicken parmigiana and that was amazing and lastly we ordered the cheese manicotti with(literally) a softball sized meatball! So much food and the portions are large… I forgot to mention it also comes with a salad that feeds 2 – 3 and a very yummy soup. We will for sure be back.

I was recently introduced to Filippi’s restaurant located at Jamul and had an awesome cheesy meaty pizza so i was stoked to find a Filippi’s near where i live. i decided one night to go and see if they were as good as the one at Jamul. I was not disappointed. i got the half lasagna and ravioli which was very cheesy and delicious and for dessert a spumoni which was very good too. Highly recommend trying this place out :)

Just in case I missed something on my first couple visits, I waited to review this place to give it more chances. Well, after several visits all I can say is, «meh». Torpedo sandwich is decent, but a little dry. I had to dip it in the bottom of my antipasto salad for some dressing. I am not a fan of their lasagna. I think lasagna is a personal thing and everyone has their own idea of what lasagna is, and this was not it for me. The rigatoni & meatball(I say meatball singularly because you get one giant meatball) was underwhelming because I wasn’t a fan of the pasta sauce and the meatballs weren’t my favorite either. What’s good: Cheese pizza. It’s loaded with cheese — so much so that you have to wait for it to settle before you get a slice or you’ll end up with a mound of cheese on your plate. The pepperoni or any other toppings for that matter are not to be ordered here. I, for one, don’t like my pepperoni under the cheese. I like it on top so it can get a little crispy from the oven. Not only that, but when pepperoni is on top of the cheese, I can dab off all that orange grease with a napkin. When the pepperoni is under the cheese, like they serve it here, all that orange grease seeps down into the crust and saturates it and lines the pizza pan so your pizza is literally soaking in orange grease. The only other thing that I’ve enjoyed here is their antipasto salad. It has lettuce, chunks of cheese, slices of Italian meats, pepperoncini and a nice vinaigrette. So…yes, I would come back, but only for a cheese pizza and an antipasto salad. The rest of the Italian food can and should be ordered elsewhere.
