Absolutely nothing special about this place. Lacked flavor and the chicken was dry. Skip this taco place and go to taco bell for a tastier meal.

Alright, so this place has a solid standing between Taco Bell and Tijuana Flats, but with its own spin on flavor. I have had the veggie tacos, both crispy and soft, the quesadilla, and the queso. They have a great late night happy hour and I have to say, the margaritas are splendid. It is a bit of a maze– you order sometimes at the front counter, sometimes at the side counter. They aren’t real consistent on the customer service. Sometimes they are quick to greet you and let you know where they want you to come and order, but other times you have to ask. It’s a new place, so I think they are still finding their way. The drinks are made at the bar and picked up there– there isn’t really any table service. You are given a beeper that will light up and tell you when your meal is ready at the food counter. I prefer the crispy tacos, but I have to warn you– tell them at the counter you want HARD tacos. For some reason, every time I have asked for crispy, which is what they are called on the menu, I end up with the soft corn tacos. They just aren’t as good. I think the soft shells are too dry. The ingredients are fresh and the queso has a nice taste. I really enjoyed the quesadilla and the portion was giant. I really hope this place sticks around. It is a cheaper alternative to TF, has ample seating, and you get a lot of food(and drink) for your buck!

Been twice. A solid Meh. Some good things some puzzling things. I think I would rather still head for a taco wagon in Oneco. But they are not always open when you are hungering for a taco. The first time I had a pork and the beef taco. They were fine but nothing special. My DC had the fish tacos our first trip and she said they were fine, but I’m picky about fish tacos and if they aren’t like what I had in Baja at K37 I’m not really interested. And these didn’t fit the bill. so for the sob side a no, but for the casual consumer they were fine. Again nothing special. The second time I tried the California heat«tempura» shrimp. On the good side there was actually some heat and good flavors. On the bad side the shrimp were a mixed bag. Some were over down and some were fine. but let me warn you if you are thinking Japanese«tempura» then be expected to be disappointed. Just seemed like a normal deep fried shrimp to me, with a bit too much batter. The over cooked ones were just like heating hard batter and not much in the way of shrimp. I liked the heat, not sure about the advertising about«tempura» and didn’t liked the over cooked shrimp. so you might be asking why three stars and not two. Well, the drunken pig. It is an appetizer which is actually pretty good an probably the best thing I’ve had here. I would actually get it before getting more tacos. Tasty pork, beans and other good things that has a few chips but really meant to be eaten like a bowl of chili or similar I think. Very tasty and yummy. Glad we tried it on the same night as the california heat taco.

Three stars because it’s decent comfort food in a pleasant setting. Finished working late at the theatre and decided that I really wanted tacos– and not Taco Bell. Though I am typically not a fan of chains, I wanted to give it a try. A colleague recommended Fuzzy’s so we headed over. Clearly he was a regular as we walked in because they noticed him right away. The young staff are very friendly. The business is set up similarly to Moe’s and Chipotle but with a college bar/fun type atmosphere. I ordered the queso with beef and one of each shrimp, beef and chicken taco. You basically serve yourself for everything. The queso was decent– not much more than cheese sauce with seasoned ground beef tossed in. The chips are thin– way too thin. I am a fan of thick tortilla chips and these crumble the moment you pick them up– not great for dipping. You can tell how fragile they are by the piles of crumbs in the basket. The tacos were tasty and filled me up. They come with feta, tomato, and onion. I am not a fan of cilantro so I asked for them to keep it off of the tacos. The restaurant also has a full bar too. Though I did not partake, it is a nice feature. They are open late for those who need a good taco fix. Not a spectacular place, but a good and tasty taco joint!

I was really excited to try this place out but was sorely disappointed. I went about two months back(some time in October) and sat myself at the bar with a friend. To start, the service was terrible. We, besides two other people at the end, we the only ones in the entire restaurant at the time and were ignored the majority of our time there. I’m a bartender as well as an ex-server so I get that people can be busy. But the bartender ignored us the entire time, favoring the couple at the end over myself and my friend. I couldn’t even get him to make eye contact and even waited 15 minutes just to get him to run my credit card at the end of our bland, dry meal. And this is where it gets worse. I still tipped the guy over 20%, assuming he had a bad day. However, looking at my bank statement a week later, I found out he wrote himself in a larger tip. I came in to get the issue resolved with the manager on duty and was brushed off with a mumbled«oh i’ll look into that» and hurriedly handed a free queso coupon and was refunded the tip that he wrote in. I’m grateful for the refunded tip– at least one thing was taken care of. However, I’ll never step foot in that restaurant again. And, after hearing my story, neither will any of my friends. Outside of the(mostly) poor service, I ordered chicken tacos with beans and rice. One word: bland. My friend was disappointed in their order as well. Dry and bland seemed to be the theme. The over-salted beans were alright if you mixed them in with the rice. Otherwise, eating them straight was like licking a hunk of salt. Not impressed at all.

Wow, what can I say? Nothing I ate today was cooked correctly. I ordered the veggie plate with cilantro rice and black beans and it was awful. Could have cooked a better meal at home for a fraction of the cost.

Seriously. Whoever dinged these folks early on need to get a life. Fuzzy’ has gotten way past the opening night jitters and the food here is freaking awesome. The quest rocks, the drunken pig will give you wet dreams. Do yourself a favor and pop in here for a drink and the best south of the border grub in town.

The tacos are WAY over priced for being as tiny as they are. They’re seriously so small. You can get 2 dollar tacos in St. Armand’s circle that are twice the size at a more upscale restaurant. Or go to Moe’s Southwest Grill or Chipotle for the same quality but with a normal/better quantity! Oh and the Margaritas are 8 dollars for the«house» which is a joke for the kind of place it is.

In case you were wondering if nacho heaven exists… Well, it does at Fuzzy’s! I’m talking massive pile of nachos, and they are not skimpy with the cheese— The addictive white liquid cheese, feta, and shredded cheddar is applied in layers. Like a drowning, dripping, delicious strata of cheese, chips, and meat. It is enough for two people. This Tex-Mex chain of restaurants is cheap, all day cheap. Not just cheap at lunch and slam you at dinner kind of cheap. There are only a few locations in Florida right now, so I have no idea why Sarasota was chosen of all places. But, thanks! It is a new stand-alone building among other new buildings along a deserted portion of University Parkway. If you like breakfast, they have breakfast tacos all day long. And, even serve real deal ground chorizo! They serve alcohol. This ain’t your typical«fast casual Mexican» joint. Honestly, I would just come to Fuzzy’s for the $ 3 churros floating in a honey bath. Those churros made my day…

The first star is for the cute name. The second star would have been for the delicious Guac except that it was tasteless. The third star would have been for the delicious fish tacos. I tried both the grilled and tempura. The fish was fine(just ok) but all that garbage on top of them was tasteless. The fourth star would have been for some sort of value — but at $ 5.95 for what I was told«But you got 8 full ounces of guac!» on top of the cup full of lettuce, there is no good value here. $ 3.00 /pointless taco, $ 5.95 for a tiny bit of guac on a pile of lettuce. So I tried the churros too… burned… blech… Methinks not. I won’t be back. I’d love to be generous with this place but even in a place that didn’t have good tacos all over the place(they are easy to find in this area) this place wouldn’t measure up. Seriously — they need to rethink a lot about it. I’d guess in 6 months it’s either gone, a ghost house or they’ve desperately tried to rehash everything, starting with the food.

TACOS!!! Ok, they have burritos and other stuff here but this place is fantastic! I would make this a 5 star but like some of the other reviews said they kinda cheat you on the guacamole by putting lettuce in the bottom of the cup. Also the order pick up system is very unclear and there’s no preventing other people from picking up your food. The margaritas were delicious, I didn’t get the special ones I only got the house but it was still very tasty. Now, the California heat taco with tempura shrimp — that was worth raving about. I’m already craving another one and I was just there 2 days ago! These are like street tacos, and I’ve never had the hard shells. They don’t double up the tortilla, but they’re still really good.

If you’re in the area, stop by for some decent food and a good Margarita. My wife and I went for a quick bite and we were glad we went. They have fast service and friendly staff. Their food was fresh and the joint was clean. Here is why it only got 3 stars. 1. We felt cheated on the guacamole. 1⁄3 of the cup is nothing but lettuce. Not sure why they don’t give you an entire container of it when you have paid for it. 2. We had to go get our food from a clumsy pick-up window. Just bring us the food. No one liked that window. We saw people also make comments about the same thing. There were 2 employees there and there was no reason it couldn’t have happened. 3. It was decent. Honestly, there was nothing wrong with the food. It is just not that next-level food that is deserving of a 4 or 5 review. It is typical of a place you would associate the name with.

Went here for lunch this past weekend, I chose the tempura burrito. It was lacking in flavor and the tempura were overcooked. I actually left unsatisfied and the burrito unfinished.

Not easily accessible and hard to get into the door, the patio blocks the entrance. Small portions, over priced and no healthy options. Only two hot sauce options, hot and medium. Tables were dirty and sticky. Tijuana Flats is so much better by leaps and bounds. Just keep driving by.

Very disappointed. Long wait. Small portions for the price. Got my daughter’s order wrong. And finally, Tijuana Flats is just down the road. When I heard this chain was out of Texas, I was excited for the opening. I figured it would be good Tex Mex. I got the combo with a beef enchilada & taco. If you told me the enchilada came from a gas station, I’d still be disappointed. Tortilla was thick and doughy and very little filling. The taco was also sparsely filled and dry. Rest of the family was underwhelmed as well. We finished with the sopapilla dessert, burned with hardly any honey, just burnt cinnamon. It will take some serious changes before they get any more of my money.

First time here at the new taco shop. I think it opened a few weeks ago. First thing we found was getting to the location required a u-turn if headed east bound on University. Had to bust a u-turn at the light. The parking lot was quite small and was undersized given the size of the place. Luckily, we found a spot. When you walk up, it appears there is a taco bar that you can sit outside. Once inside, there is a short zigzag line to the ordering station. The line only accommodates about 10 people, then you are left with the line out the door. Seems like poor planning. Once at the counter, the staff was friendly. We ordered our tacos and went to sit at a high top table. I asked if there were options for hot sauce and salsa, and was told I could get some at the kitchen window. We sat at the high top tables next to the full bar. I was surprised, but they have a full liquor bar along with a decent craft beer selection on draft. While starring at our buzzers, we looked around for a salsa bar, but there wasn’t one surprisingly. After about 5 minutes, our buzzer rang, so we went to the window to get our food. My coworker got the California heat taco, spicy pork, and the chorizo, egg, potato, and cheese. I got a drunken pig pork and beans, spicy pork taco, beef brisket taco, and the chorizo, egg, potato, and cheese taco. We were somewhat surprised with how small the tacos were, 4″ or so, but given the cost, about $ 2, they were decently priced. The only taco that was more expensive was the California heat at $ 3.29 which my coworker said was not worth the extra cost as he could not taste the tempura shrimp at all. We were about to dig into our tacos, when I realized my chorizo taco had no cheese on it. I took it back to the window and asked them to put cheese on it, and they looked at me like I wanted something for free. I explained what it was, then they took it, threw cheese on it, and put it back on the flat top. It was given back to me a minute later with unmelted cheese on it. Pretty poor service in my eyes. I then asked them about the hot sauce that was available at the kitchen and they informed me the only hot sauce they had was on the table. I was offered a side of salsa that I gladly accepted. Now ready to eat, we tore into our tacos. They were all about 3 bite tacos, so they did not last long. I asked my coworker what he thought and we agreed that the tacos were pretty average. The drunken pig, pork and beans, were tasty and filling, but nothing remarkable. As we left, we were glad we got to try out the new place, but would not go out of our way to try it again. It was pretty average and with a few other great Mexican food options in the area, it would be hard to come back here again unless we were passing.
