I used to go to this deli every day. After my experience today, I don’t know if I will ever step foot in there again. They think they are«the best», they are mediocre by NY standards. But to keep customers standing in line for 25 minutes to make have a sandwich made, because only 2 guys are working that station, while half their staff is chit chatting in the back is ridiculous. And when I said something to one of the people I’ve known for over 15 years, his response was«oh their fine, it’s moving» 6 people in front of me and 25 minutes later, I walked out without a sandwich… great deli! I highly suggest avoiding it!

Great old school deli. Unfortunately, these places are a dying breed, but Lange’s is keeping it alive. Order a hero there and you’ll actually receive a sandwich piled«mile high» with meat. Lots of places just skimp out now. I don’t need all the fancy shmancy stuff that some places try to peddle these days, like kale salads, organic fresh squeezed green life juice or tofu infused turkey bacon with the roasted ground papaya seed in an organic honey glaze, made by bees who are rubbed down each day, like Kobe beef. I just want a big darn sandwich, with all the toppings and that’s what they deliver. The first time I see a sandwich with yak cheese, I’m done. Until then, long live Lange’s.

Gross and outdated! Doesn’t belong in Scarsdale village. It’s a run of the mill, cold cut sandwich kind of deli that would be better off in Yonkers or Tuckahoe. No one eats that kind of stuff anymore. Had to pop in for a quick sandwich and regretted it. No gourmet options. No kale. No walnuts. Just old school tuna salad and Italian combos. Not for a Scarsdale crowd. Oh, and did I mention overpriced?

This was a wonderful deli in it’s time(the 80s) and has gone down decade by decade! I occasionally give it another try, then remember why I stopped going. There is a lot of competition in the sandwich world out there, and they have to step up their game to get their old-timers back!

I’ve been here to grab breakfast to go — usually coffee and/or sausage, egg and cheese on a roll, which is pretty good. My review is based on the customer service– I think the guys in the front are a bit rude. I come here maybe two-three times a week and never once have they said hello or good morning, they just say ‘next’ or ‘what would you like.’ I go here because it’s in my way to the train station and it’s convenient. Maybe it’s too early for them– after all, it is around 8am that I grab breakfast there.

I really enjoy their sandwiches and I loved creating my own salad. Great deli for sandwiches and salads!

Terrible deli. I just had the worst turkey lettuce and tomato sandwich I’ve ever had. I had one before from here with bacon and became extremely sick afterwards. I feel nauseous and hope I don’t get sick again. The lettuce was wilted and the tomato was slimey, the roll was stale. For such a simple sandwich, I don’t know how it could be messed up so bad. The guy who works on the coffee side is nice and that’s about all that I can say is positive about her. Buon amici is 1000 times better, save your money and go there.

Be careful on charges when checking out at this deli. Was charged over $ 2000 for two sandwiches. Disputed and $ refunded, minus the cost of those two mediocre sandwiches.

Lange’s only having a 3-star average rating is completely savage. Sad. The chicken salad is the bomb. Pro tip, get grilled chicken, pesto, prosciutto and fresh mozzarella on a wedge or roll.

Wonderful, best chopped mix your own salad bowls with a great variety. Then I saw the pizza and had to get both! I got the vodka pizza which was fantastic my fiancé got the buffalo chicken slice and the margarita slice and it too was amazing. Very friendly Staff! Great place for everyone!

TL: DR great food, extremely slow deli counter. Review: Five friends and I were riding our bikes to Rye from Manhattan and stopped in Scarsdale for Lunch. This place looked great as we were looking for a quick place to stop and grab a sandwich. The food was really good for a deli sandwich, I ordered a Fire Chicken which was 4 stars tasty, BUTTHEWAITINLINEWASHORRENDOUS. It took the 6 of us 25 minutes to get lunch. The line was never longer than 10 people long but the kitchen was so unorganized that we moved at a snails pace. Go if you have plenty of time to spare. Or order ahead.

No frills, no fuss, just amazing food. The pizza with pasta on top is great, but so is everything else.

Fixture in downtown Scarsdale. Stopped off for sandwiches twice near closing time. The usual enormous array of specialty sandwiches weren’t available, but I scarfed down a couple of generously sized, reasonably priced sandwiches. The service is friendly.

This is a great deli. My favorite sandwich is «The King.» I could eat one every day. They get tremendously busy at lunchtime, and they have really never figured out how to deal with the crowd efficiently. Parking is a serious problem, and the prices are outrageous. Having said all this, it’s still worth it…

Be forewarned, I’m going to get nostalgic. I used to frequent this deli when I was in High School. I always preferred the now-defunct Michael’s but felt this was a well-run establishment and always liked my food. It was old school and kind of drab(still is) and dependable for a great sandwich. I returned this past weekend and could not have been more disappointed in this most-recent iteration. The deli is no longer operated by the original owners and it lacks authenticity and personality. I think this shift actually happened years ago(maybe 5) but it’s really changed the whole atmosphere(for the worse.) The set up is a bit choppy and confusing although it seems it would be intuitive. The space has expanded and Lange’s now offers Pizza. They took over the Dunkin’ Donuts that was to the left and kept the shelves for the donuts/bagels. I thought it looked tacky and careless that they didn’t do a proper renovation — I’m sure they have the money. The place looked kind of messy and the customers were rude; at least three people pushed past me and didn’t say«excuse me.»(What can I say, I am a stickler for manners.) To top it off(and I realize this isn’t the Deli’s fault) two high school girls were behind me and my husband as we waited what seemed like eons to pay for his sloppily constructed but large sandwich. They had valley girl accents(aren’t we in NY and isn’t this the new millennium?!?) They were talking about prom and friends and«hooking up» and they and their intonations(with all due respect) were a bit irksome. Granted it’s a free country but I just wanted to highlight the overall negative experience I had here and these girls were a part of it. TLDR: Decent food. Decent prices. Snotty clientele. Flippant and slow service. Seemingly dirty deli. But! Clean bathroom!(I would return to use the bathroom if needed, otherwise I’d skip it.)

Great sandwiches — the Grand Canyon is the local favorite, and the Texarkana & Reuben are also very good — but they are EXPENSIVE.

I’ve been coming here since, well I was born basically. Love the place. They expanded to take over the dunkin donuts a few years ago, which changed the feel of the place and most certainly changed the prices. They make great sandwiches and salads though. Try the tomato salad… it’s just amazing. The potato salad is one of the most requested foods when I go to bbq’s. Great sandwiches though like the grand canyon, peppermill, italian combo, the red sox, and anything with roast beef. The staff is always awesome, even when they’re really busy. Much of the staff has been there for years, which is a testament to the place. Also, when they took over the dunkin donuts they hired some of the workers from there to run the coffee bar, which I really appreciated as those guys were always really friendly and great at their jobs. A great deli with awesome food, just be prepared to pay for it!

This deli has been around forever. That just shows how good the food is here. The sandwiches are top notch. I like how over the years they expanded the store and took over the old Dunkin Donuts. They even added a salad bar which is pretty cool since they previously didn’t have that. The sandwiches(depending what you get) can get expensive, but they’re so good. They are sandwich maker geniuses. I love the Balboa, Italian Combo, The Devil, Healthy Buffalo Bill, Amarillo, French Dip, etc… shoot i like everything. Aside from their sandwiches, their pasta salad is really yummy too. It has a good amount of tang, and their non-mayo slaw is pretty fresh tasting too. Breakfast…ehhhh i don’t think is as good as their lunch menu. I usually try to avoid breakfast here. I feel like their potatoes are weak and their eggs are usually overcooked. Just skip breakfast, and order lunch. It’s the way to go The lines can get crazy especially during primetime lunch time. In addition, the place closes before dinner. I believe they close at 6? Another negative is that sometimes it is hard to find parking around the area.
