Hair Changes

One of the most pathetic places to get a hair cut from, my advice is to stay away. They first took my appointment for 06:15. At 06:10 get a call from them saying we hope you haven’t left we have a scheduling conflict. I was in the parking lot by that time, after I went in the person who was assigned to me was not professional at all. She cut my hair too short, and messed up my entire hairstyle. Not going here ever again. You have lost a customer @hairchanges. And this they do to me on my third visit by the way. I feel awful

Rhonda saved me! I had just moved into the area and was just a mess. My biggest fear was making the mistake of doing something drastic (shaving my head and painting it neon green) because I know that under stress I have a tendency to go overboard with my hair.
While Rhonda styled my hair we talked about the services that the salon offered – everything I needed at a good price. Yes, they could even shave my head and tint it green, but did not recommend it. The owner, Sandy, was in the shop and was very helpful as well.
I’ve already booked my next appointment!

While I’ve only been to Hair Changes for a quick kid’s haircut with Rita, I’m happy to dole out four solid stars.
Getting my almost 2.5 year old’s hair cut is a little unnerving. Is she going to sit still? Will the place be kid friendly but not so full of kid stuffs that she doesn’t want to sit for a haircut? Will I be forking over an obscene amount of money for the quarterly «trim»? Well, Hair Changes is a perfectly acceptable spot for my little one…
1) Salon: Is so so clean, bright and with a booster, my daughter happily sat for Rita for the 10 minutes it took to trim her hair. Bonus points for the super cute smock.
2) Easy of booking: Online booking through Unilocal = the BEST! I was able to schedule an appointment the night before and a select a time frame that worked best for me. Rita was ready for us when we arrived and it was so easy-​peasy.
3) Haircut: Was simple, straightforward and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her sucker afterwards. She’s already asking when she can get another haircut with Ms. Rita. $ 15 (pre-​tip) well spent.
When we’re in need of another kid’s haircut, I’m happy to schedule an appointment back at Hair Changes.

I literally live right across the street and didn’t realize this place was here. Once I saw the reviews here, I knew I had to go. I wasn’t expecting anything nice to be found in this strip mall, but it was very snazy inside. I came here because I was in need of some communication with a hair expert. I didnt mind my old stylist but she wasn’t all that chatty or helpful when it came to my hair «emergencies» .
I made an appointment and got Janelle and boy was I in for a treat. She was just what the hair doctor ordered. She chatted me up, told me what caused my hair woos and gave me a delightful haircut. I never make follow up appointments but I did time cause I wanted to make sure Janelle was ready for me in three month. My hair looks so much better now, I had a good therapy session and now I am excited to return. A+++++

Sorta disappointed. I saw reviews saying it was a great place to get a new style so I tried it out. Maybe I got the haircutter in a bad mood or something. I asked what style would look best on me (I had long straight no layers) she said what I have is fine and she would just trim it. I think she just wanted me out of the shop asap. She spent no time cutting — pretty much just one cut across. I have thick hair and one cut across come out really unevenly. For $ 35, I expect more than a bargain basement cut. She said she charges more to dry my hair so I left with wet hair. When I got home, I saw she missed cutting whole sections of my hair. I didn’t want to go back so I cut it myself at home.

First time coming here and I had a great experience. I came in for a style since I was going out that night. As soon as I walked in everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The place itself is very clean and has a cute setup. I am sad I forgot the name of the lady who styled by hair but she was awesome! She told me she has been working there for 25 years! She kept the conversation going the entire time and was very outgoing. I can tell all the staff is very close and like a big family. I was so happy with the way she styled my hair it looked amazing!!! You can tell she took her time and made sure every piece was perfect. She wouldn’t let me leave the chair until my hair was exactly what I wanted. Very happy with the results, I would definitely go back. Prices are very fair here.

I went in yesterday for a haircut and had a great time. I was a little nervous at first because I had never been here before but the experience was better than I thought it would be. The woman that cut my hair gave me exactly what I asked for and carried out a conversation with me all throughout the process which was nice. I don’t like it when I go to a salon and the stylist doesn’t try to talk to me. I’ll definitely be back in the future!

Rob is fantastic. I was in there yesterday to make a big change to my hair. I got about 8 inches cut off and he was so great and not taking off more than i wanted. I also had some peek a boo highlights that were a little heavier on one side than the other and Rob evened them out and suggested putting some underneath my hair so they stand out more when i wear my hair in a ponytail. I absolutely love my new hair and will be returning!!!

First time at this salon, I will be back! Rob gave me a great haircut. He listened to what I wanted and my hair looks beautiful. Thanks Rob.

Rob has been cutting my hair for the past 2 years, since I moved to the area. He always makes my hair look fabulous and I get so many compliments! I’ve never had a problem getting an appointment. Everyone here is so friendly and I love the décor-​colorful, modern and minimal.

A former business associate of mine has her hair cut here by Rob and it always looks perfect. I decided to go for a consultation and got the best haircut of my life, which is saying a lot because I have a ton of curly hair that is difficult to work with. The cut was done perfectly. When I think of all the money I spent at another well-​known, overpriced Schaumburg salon (where I got the worst cut ever) and another small salon that took five hours to cut and color my hair due to poor time management, it makes me wish I had switched to Hair Changes much sooner. Everyone here is very friendly. I am so pleased with my hairstyle and the color is wonderful. I am happy to pay top dollar for a great cut, but the prices here are very reasonable. I am one very satisfied customer.

Had a haircut from Hair Changes today. As it was a few times in the past great fast haircut from Rob. Would recommend and they take appointments so I can have a cut during lunch with no issues being away from work less than an hour.

Great salon, wonderful atmosphere. Janelle has been taking great care of me for years :) It’s like going to Cheers — love going in and seeing everyone, both the stylists and the clients.

This place is great! Everyone is so friendly and nice and do amazing work with your hair. I’ve been going here for 12 years. Décor inside is very modern, the products they use are wonderful, and each one listens to what you want done.

Rob at Hair Changes has been cutting and coloring my hair for several years now. He always does a great job. I enjoy the friendly staff there, and appreciate their fair prices.

I have been going here for years. the staff is friendly. I have never had a bad experience in the ten or so years going here. They would never let me leave looking foolish. I love my hair stylist she the best and she also likes bacon.

I bought the Groupon for a cut and blowout because I would be out in IL for a wedding downtown. I was staying in the ‘Burbs with family and needed a cut and style before the wedding. I called Hair Changes and asked if they could upgrade the blowout to something a little fancier, and they enthusiastically agreed! When I arrived, the appointment started quickly, and Rhonda did a spectacular job styling me for the wedding!

Went there with a groupon, and the place is really nice. It’s hidden in a strip mall area and looks a little plain on the outside, but inside is nicely decorated and very comfortable. I had my hair cut by Nicole and she did a great job with the cut and style. I have lots of hair that takes forever to blow dry and needs a once over with a straightening iron to get it all smoothed out, which I usually have to ask for and she did it without me needing to ask. Very friendly and attentive staff. Everyone there has been there 13+ years so you know you’re in good hands. I live in the Skokie area and work in Hoffman Estates but will now make this my regular salon. If you are looking for a new salon, I highly recommend this one!

Went to get my hair cut from Rob cuz my bff has been goin 2 him 4 years. He did a great job cutting my hair so i could donate it ti locks of love as well as stylin the rest of my hair the way i wanted it. Great people and service!
