Yummy bread bowl with clam chowder and dad thought the burger was top notch. Good kids menu options if you have picky eaters. Relatively affordable price for seafood.

It pains me to give a local restaurant a 2 star rating. I ordered the halibut fish and chips. The halibut cut was thin and dry compared to Bell Buoy. If you think that the fish was bad, the chips were worst. The chips/fries were burned, oily, and soggy. The service was good.

We had the bread bowls in which I preferred your clam chowder over some down the way. We also went wild for the oyster shooters. I ate a grilled cheese. That night we came back and ordered clam strips, oyster shooters, mozzarella sticks, sweet potato and regular fries, more clam chowder and prawns! Lol.

Food was decent. Service was good and friendly. Prices were fair. We’ll likely return, if we’re in the neighborhood again.

I would hate to disagree with you, Karen but I have to. The coupon does not say anywhere that it is not for«to-go» orders. Other than that, I wish you great success. The coupon says Sam’s Seaside Café buy one get Burger get one Burger free There are 2 boxes meaning you can use it twice. 104 Broadway 503−717−1725

Great service, ok food. The wait staff was very friendly and fast. Kudos to them for dealing with a non-functional credit card machine too. Food was alright. Decent, but nothing special. The fried fish didn’t seem to have any flavoring added to it. And the breading was a bit doughy(also happened with our clam strips). The garlic burger was decent, but not very garlicky. It mostly relied on the grilled onions and onion bun for its taste. Fries were delicious though. One last thing, my kiddo was given a child’s menu with a picture to color, but no crayons. We looked all around the front part of the restaurant but there were none to be found. We found that odd.

This is a pretty vanilla kind of place, we stopped in while walking around town, the people with me ordered burgers, they said they were just ok. I ordered the veggie sandwich, it came on plain bread not toasted, I added ranch dressing to it, to give it a little flavor, the pickle that came with it looked like it was the last one in the jar the size of a shoe string french fry. The inside of the restaurant felt a little grungy, I picked up the food under the table and cleaned off the bench from the person before us. The service person was nice and friendly, but the food service time was slow. I wouldn’t go back, there are so many other choices.

No stars from me. My family and I ate here last Thursday evening. I was firstly very disturbed by the state of the restrooms, which I discovered after we had eaten our meals. The passage and bathroom had an overwhelming smell of urine and the sinks were coated in a layer of grime. The thought of the staff potentially using those facilities and then handling the food made me naseous. On-top of that we were treated so badly by two waitresses, which included hurling abuse at us, across the restaurant as we left, by our waitress, that I will never go back and will never recommend this place to anyone. All I did was enquire as to how much longer it would be until our grilled cheese was ready and then all hell broke loose. After 25 minutes and it being 9:30pm I thought this was a legitimate question. We had to pay for that grilled cheese too, even though we didn’t get it. I see from another review this isn’t the first time this has happened! To those looking for a place to eat, don’t waste your money. To the owner of this restaurant, you have some very serious staff issues. Having worked in the hospitality industry myself from the floor to management I have never in my life seen a person behave the way your waitresses did.

Stopped in this past weekend with my family for the first time. We stopped by because we wanted a wide variety of food choices, with one person wanting seafood and my kids were surely going to want more American style food. The place isn’t very big, but it is only about a 3 minutes walk from the beach. I had them make me a variant of their Hawaiian burger and my youngest got a regular hamburger. They didn’t ask how we wanted them cook, so they were more pink that I would have normally preferred, but they weren’t too bad. My oldest had a sandwich instead of a burger and said it wasn’t bad. The regular seafood platters weren’t inspiring, so we had to get oyster shooters(we got 6) and sweet potato fries. My friend got a bloody mary and asked for it not to be too spicy. We were told the drink was pretty spicy because they make their own mix in a huge quantity. However, she was able to get some extra tomato juice mixed in and she said it was good. She had a second one but didn’t finish it. Overall, the food wasn’t bad. It wasn’t great by any stretch, either. We didn’t get any sodas(just the 2 bloody Mary’s) and the meal was $ 60. Would I consider coming here again? Sure. But I wouldn’t go out of my way just to eat here again as well.

I finally got converted to fish & chips after having their halibut and chips! So yummy! My sister’s shrimp cocktail still had hard shell to pick out. But my meal was fantastic.

we came here strictly because the owner had responded to negative reviews and that impressed me. Her commitment to her business shows. We were seated and served promptly. We were checked on regularly to make sure everything was satisfactory. My son in law and I ordered the oyster shooters and they were everything everyone said. if what they said was positive. We also ordered the clam chowder and cod fish & chips. We were very satisfied with the portions and flavor. My husband had a cheese burger, my daughter had the garlic burger. She loved the taste but half way through she felt the garlic was getting a little strong so my son in law finished it for her. He was full but liked the taste so much he didn’t want to leave it. We aren’t in Seaside often but Sam’s can count on us to return when we are in town.

Well first off this place is sparkly clean and the Brian who waited on us was so friendly. He apoloized for the wait because he was the only server and maning the bar, well we waited for him to come to our table for like 2 min, that is no wait at all. The food was great the calamari was perfectly cooked the fish and chips was up there with some of the best we have ever had. This is definitely going to be a comeback when we come into town. A perfect small little gem and to boot they have baskets of toys to keep little ones busy!!! Keep it up Sam’s

This was a great place to eat! We had a server who was brand new and he did a great job;) The place was open until midnight which was perfect when we rolled into town at 8:30pm and everything was closing. Food was great, lots of variety! The calamari was yummy and the sandwiches were perfect!

Have you ever wondered, «How much time to I spend drinking at Sam’s?», well they have the answer! This good ol’ fashion time-clock is the answer I was looking for. They conveniently place cards next to the time-clock machine so you can clock your time at Sam’s. Unfortunately, you also have to remember to punch out when you leave, and in my observations, few people had any intention of remembering leaving. Hence the 4 stars. C’mon Sam’s, obviously the bartender should be in charge of that. My other reason for giving 4 stars? The bartender refused a shot from a customer. Lastly, the clam chowder was pretty watery, maybe it’s just my preference, but I wasn’t a fan(and they were out of bread bowls, and that Unilocal photo had our mouth watering).

The Food was so greasy and flavorless! We had the halibut fish and chips, California burger & clam chowder and thoroughly disappointed with all. The clam Chowder tasted more like a fish stew, the burger dry and flavorless and fish and chips very very greasy. Very disappointiv experience, will not be back.

There just isn’t enough good stuff I can say about Sam’s we have been there dozens of times, it’s always a planned stop when we are in Seaside. The burgers are top notch and there is a good selection of specialty burgers, not just your average cheese or no cheese joint. We always eat in Luke’s Lizard lounge, in the back, because they have a great selection of beer, for a 6 table lounge on the strip. We came in at 3pm after a long meeting, I was hangry, to say the least, my burger was in front of me before I could even check my watch, great service, great folks. You will always be created with a smile.

I went here to get some fish and chips and my favorite clam chowder. I was by myself on a not too busy day in the off season. The service was terrible, so much so, that it was close to me walking out, but I was hungry. I finally got someone to bring me water and eventually take my order. It was kind of a middle of the run meal, not terrible and not super great, but I ended up full. I’d hate to see this place if it was busy, I don’t know if I would have ever been served.

The food was pretty greasy, and flavorless. I put a LOT of salt and lemon on my fish. I’ve found in seaside that there is an overall lack of salt. which is weird for being an ocean-side community! We both ordered the fish and chips, the halibut was better than the cod(usually the case) the batter was light and crispy, but there was a strange greasy-ness about 1. the food and 2. the restaurant that had me wanting to leave the second I walked in. We also had the chili, which was pretty good, which warrants this A-OK review.
