Not the best spot for milk tea. It’s cheaper than actual bubble tea shops($ 3.50 for an original milk tea with tapioca), but the milk tea didn’t taste good. it was pretty diluted, and the tapioca was overcooked and not sweet enough. But they don’t specialize in bubble tea, so I wasn’t expecting it to be great. They mainly offer baked breads/buns, and cake, as well as lunch items(I think on certain days). I tried their egg tart, sweet bun(i.e., pineapple/melon bun), and walnut milk cream bun. and none of them really impressed me. The bread itself was okay, but I’m more a fan of the brioche-like buns that 99 Ranch’s bakery offers. The service was okay too. It was pretty much just one lady putting together the orders, and running the cashier, even though there were at least two other guys working behind the counter. I’m assuming it’s because the other guys didn’t understand English. The wait was longer than it should have been because of that. She was nice though, even though she seemed overwhelmed with doing most of the work. NOTE: Credit card fee for purchases under $ 10!

Wow. Excellent wife cake. I grew up living white potato pie as a kid and to have a MORE delicious Chinese alt. Blew my mind! Try this place despite ANY sensibilities.

The baked goods are really good, and everything I ordered was fresh and wonderful. The pastry with red bean paste and egg yolk was definitely the best thing I ordered, I highly recommend it. The language barrier was a little difficult, and the boba tea I ordered wound up blended, but without any ice, resulting in a pretty weird and fairly warm drink. Other than that, everything was great, and the woman behind the counter was very friendly and sweet, which is always a plus.

I really liked this bakery! It has a wide range of tarts, Bao, and cakes. My favorite was the Lau Po Bian(wife cake) stuffed with wintermelon. They do put a lot of filling in the cakes which is not very sweet, and not very big. The price was fair as they are difficult and tedious to make. My only complaint is that I do like these cakes when the filling also has small pieces of crunchy, crystallized wintermelon as it makes for an interesting texture. Very few places do it like that, and I have been to some others, mainly Korean bakeries that seem to want to try to do this as well, but fill theirs with a sickly, sweet wintermelon jelly… Yuk! Overall, this one was a good substitute. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. The food choices on the menu also looked good but for me, it was all about the baked goods!

What a awesome little place! I only came for the bubble tea but two ladies at the counter were so friendly and helpful! It’s a small little bakery that’s filled with great treats such as; bread, desserts and fruit. A must try if you’re in the International District!

Nice cakes, mediocre egg tarts. Way to expensive. Will probably skip it the next time.

I used to enjoy eating there, but since they hired a chef and made some minor changes to their menu, I ain’t excited about going there anymore. For examples, they no longer offer build your own mini hot pot instead they have 3 sets and they substitute enoki mushroom with regular white mushrooms(enoki makes noodle soups better). Plus finding parking in Chinatown during the weekends is just horrible, especially where there is a game.

I love the sweet cakes here. Try the yogurt blueberry cheesecake. The cookies and pastries are all good. They have hot pot and other delicious things served over rice everyday except Wednesdays. This place is an awesome old school Chinese bakery. Help keep their business thriving!

Definitely the best Chinese-style fruit cakes in the area. My family and I order here regularly for birthdays and we’re always pleased. As a self-recognized cake connoisseur, I can definitely say that their mango cake is the best mango cake in the great Seattle area(they serve these only during mango season but I’ve gotten one by calling in early once. Definitely stop by here and give it a try, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

This bakery is amazing, and it always makes me happy to go there. They have so many options, and yet everything is done well. I don’t know who their chef is, but someone should give this place a Michelin star. Their cakes and pastries are creative and executed with perfection!

Came here on thanksgiving night and they are the only one of the few restaurants open. So got the lychee boba here. This time at night they ran out of pearls. But that is ok I don’t even like pearls to begin with. Pastry here looks good. The lychee boba was not bad. It’s $ 3.50. Standard price. This place is never as busy as Gossip, Oasis or Ambrossio. Probably it’s due to its décor. Looks like a typical Asian hk café place. Will return to this place for sure

I tend to come by A Piece of Cake and see what they have whenever I am in the area. To me it’s an ok bakery. They don’t always have what I’m looking for nor does it really knock my socks off. Custard buns are ok, coconut buns are ok, red bean buns are ok, selections are ok, prices are ok and staff/service was just ok. Did i mention it was ok? Ok? Ok, glad we got that cleared up. It’s worth taking a few minutes to come and take a peek and see if anything piques your interest. They do offer boba drinks too which is a plus… I’m sure they are ok too.

The coffee was ok. The bubble tea was too powdery Pastries were a hit or miss… More of the latter. The stars are for the ambiance actually. It felt like we were in a diff country. Just the décor and strange array of music that played, it really was entertaining and enjoyable to sit in.

I recommend the white pastry and durian pastry. Even though it’s not perfect compared with the ones in China, it may be most authentic white pastry which you can try in Seattle.

Tried the small seafood hot pot. Enough to feed 3! Suggested a double the add-ons! There was no room for add-ons. I wanted more broth, but the spice levels was too hot for the lowest spice level. The counter person was nice. I will try congee next time.

So maybe this was my fault for trying the chicken pot pie instead of the egg tart(which seems to be popular) or other sweet options, but it was disgusting! First bite was not bad. The pastry puff exterior was slightly sweet and was pretty good. It should’ve been a red flag that even though the chicken pies were sitting under what appears to be a hot lamp, it was not even remotely warm. The subsequent bites were gross. I took the pie apart and saw that there are only small pieces of dark meat chicken and mushroom, and the rest of the filling was this weird filler substance that I couldn’t really place. It was a white-gray-ish color. I threw away the rest of the pies(I got two) and now I’m still trying to wash the horrible taste out with coffee. Sorry, no love for A Piece of Cake.

Dear American desserts, yalls gotta calm yo whole shit down. Ya eat dat American dessert, it’ll take you to the recycle bin and you gon marinate yoself til next month… I don’t believe in «leaving room for dessert». When I finish a big meal ready to put me to sleep, I’m just looking for a cherry on top, not some hunk of sugar ready to prescribe me a month in air conditioned nightmare asylum of immobile obesity. This is where a Piece of Cake comin. Instead of smackin yo bitch ass, dis place take you by da hand and leads you to roads of smooth buttah Chinese-style. gonna give yo rosy taste buds a massage rather than sugar fists of fury goin nowhere. The cakes here are subtle. dey ain’t too sweet. instead, these cakes are as light as clouds, but you can still savor dem delicate, but detailed flava-flavs. da golden mango cake is to die for. green tea mousse cakes are freakin delicious and very light. Something to top off the night on a dreamy sweet note. You can find any kinda cakes/pastries you want. red bean cakes, cheese cakes, strawberry cakes, chocolate cakes, green tea cakes, fruit tarts, wife pastries(no wifin in the club, gimme 20 dolla), durian pastries, lotus pastries, thirsty thursday cakes, freaky friday cakes, sexy saturday cakes. They got more dan 40 varieties i tink. Da cakes here are the powers that b. Strong 4 outta 5.

Bought a bunch of individual cake pieces for the family to try and we decided that the yogurt blueberry cheesecake and the golden mango cheese cake taste the best! Both were not overly sweet and tasted just right. Kinda odd but very cool, but this chinese pastry shop also serves szechuan food! A TOTALHIDDENGEM! I give two thumbs up to their spicy fish in spicy broth noodle soup! They give you tons of fish pieces! Their spicy wonton & beef brisket rice noodle soup is good too. Really nice staff!

–sigh-, my first week in Seattle was absolutely amazing in terms of overall quality… then I came to Chinatown. I asked the man behind the counter what their best bubble tea was, and was told«Lychee, and Taro.» I ordered the lychee bubble tea and was unfortunately treated with old tapioca balls, and an overly sweet, simple drink. My taste buds were not happy, my tummy was not happy, and for $ 3.30, it wasn’t any cheaper than the bubble tea in nicer areas of town.
