Tried ordering online, order said 15 – 20 minutes. I arrived 25 minutes later. It was jammed packed and the counter person asked to take my order. I said I ordered online, he turned into a deer in headlights. My order wasn’t even started. He punched it in on the register then as he is doing so proceeds to tell me that, they are out of the medium containers. Offered to charge me for 2 smalls no biggie. I would haven’t given him my $ 43 and change knowing i was heading for hell sent dirty handed dried up chicken and another additional 20 minute wait. It was busy, pans of chicken ready to be deployed to hungry customers, but it seemed the staff and cooks were too busy jaw jacking and making jokes about someones fried okra. As the sweating employees slowly put orders together I see them wiping their faces off on their shirts, then touching buns and people containers. To add not 1 employee besides the chicken cook had gloves on. An employee returned from a break while I waited walked back through the employee entrance. Not even 10 seconds later literally he was back at the fryer. There is no way one could wash hands and get clean hands in that amount of time This place should definitely be on the Health Departments places to inspect. Heaven did not send this chicken shack to us. If you like playing Russian roulette with your GI tract throw in some irritation and frustration and like smelling like week old fryer grease then head on down. Fried chicken lover beware.

Service is in dire need of revamp. Toilet not secured to floor, Diet Coke out and they didn’t have time to change because I was told they were too busy. There were only four people in the restaurant.

I decided to give this place a try based mostly on the buzz, allegedly it’s Oprah’s favorite fried chicken. I had pretty high expectations for this place, maybe that’s why it was disappointing. I went with the chicken strips and while they weren’t bad by any means they weren’t great either. Honestly it reminded me of the chicken strips from Dairy Queen. I ordered the«spicy» strips but didn’t really taste any spice, maybe I got the regular ones by mistake? As for the sides there’s not much to say. The roll was pretty good but at the end of the day it was just a roll. The mashed potatoes were really bland, didn’t taste like much of anything really, I didn’t end up finishing them. The staff behind the counter seemed almost annoyed that I came in, together with the so-so food and somewhat dirty seating area(I almost sat in ketchup) I probably won’t go back. Admittedly I grew up in the South so I’m kind of picky about Fried chicken but at 11 $ for a small combo(to be fair Seattle is a expensive town to do business in) I was really hoping for more.

I ordered via eat24. I got there when I was supposed and they told me they didn’t have my order because they«hadn’t turned it on». So I had to wait ten more minutes for my food. The only thing I asked for was 1 extra honey mustard and 1 bbq because of the mix up. They said no and that was that. Not great customer service.

I crave fried chicken at least like 3 times a week and I cry and cry about the fact that there’s no Popeye’s up north but this week I had a revelation which sounded in my head like, «HELLO!!! You live 5 minutes away from Heaven Sent!!!» even better! Their chicken really is heavenly. The workers are incredibly sweet at this location(especially compared to the Renton location) and they are FAST! Everything I’ve tried here is super yummy. I appreciate that they put a lotttt of gravy in the mashed potatoes because dipping my roll in the leftovers is the only way to go. The only thing that keeps me coming back more often is: 1. my health, because I care *sometimes* and 2. it’s a little pricy But other than that, Heaven Sent has my heart.

I ordered food from here because I didn’t feel like cooking, and found the place by doing a Unilocal search. I read the reviews and looked the pictures and decided to give it a try. I ordered chicken strips with fries, along with baked beans, collard greens, and potato salad for sides. I also ordered a sweet potato pie. I can’t even begin to explain how good the food was. I feel like I just found a piece of the south right here in the Seattle area. The food was absolutely amazing, and my only critique is that the greens were a bit salty(but I dont use salt to cook and my sensitivity to it is higher). I would defintely order from here again and recommend this place to anyone looking for a piece of the south in the Pacific Northwest.

I called to place an order for a small gizzards. The lady on the phone said 15 min, and I gave them 20. When I got there my gizzards were still not ready. 25 min later I got them. I get home and as I was eating them I took a bite and immediately spit it out. I looked at the gizzard and it was green. I took the gizzards back to heaven sent and got my money back. Please inspect your meat before you fry it. I was very disappointed and will not be going back.

True story… we had a taste test between Heaven Sent and Ezell’s side by side and the winner was…*drum roll* HEAVENSENT! Best tasting rolls and gizzards however, go to Ezell’s. Also, I will say that for some reason, the chicken at this place is better than the locations in Everett and Renton. It’s always cooked perfectly where the other locations seem to leave theirs in the fryer an extra minute too long. Anyway, best fried chicken in my book! Perfectly seasoned with that spice and crunch, moist, and delicious!

Exactly what you expect it to be. Had the opportunity to meet The Man himself and told him that he got jobbed. No man should have his name stolen by his kin. When I want fried chicken I find an excuse to roll on Lake City Way.

Best fried chicken I’ve tasted. To give background what that means, I’m from the Texas — Louisiana border, where fried food is done right. Last I visited, there was an old beater car next to a Ferrari. No matter your background, its hard to deny the deliciousness of the spicy chicken and fried okra. Also have taken road trips through Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, SC, NC, Washington DC, NJ, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Arizona, California… Memphis came close.

Portions are HUGE. We went for lunch and had enough food for the rest of the day. Get the spicy chicken strips… They’re so yummy and fresh! The fries had just come out of the fryer when we got them. Maybe it was just this time, but the rolls are better at Ezell’s. The Mac and cheese was ehh and it sucks that I have to reach for change when wanting to get extra sauce but it’s worth it. BBQ sauce for the spicy chicken strips is a must!

Always a good experience at this location and the food is about as consistent as it could be. as a matter of fact, I feel like every time I have gone here, it has been a nearly identical experience and I mean that in a good way. The staff is friendly and does a good job at working through the line. The food I order is always hot and fresh… except the cole slaw but who would want hot cole slaw?! My standard order is a two piece white meat spicy meal with cole slaw and mashed potatoes. The chicken is always delicious and, while I would prefer it to be even spicier, there is enough kick there to satisfy the average consumer while not scaring away someone who wouldn’t want it to be too crazy hot. If you know and love Ezell’s famous chicken like Oprah does then you are sure to enjoy a meal here. If you didn’t know, the Heaven Sent brand is owned and operated by Mr. Ezell himself after some restructuring was done with the original business.

I went to Garfield and ate a lot of Ezell’s. Legal issues aside, both places are great but Heaven Sent is better. To me it’s hands down the best fried chicken and I love their krinkel cut fries dipped in tarter… yummy. I tried to find an email for Ezell on the Heaven Sent site but couldn’t find one. Just wanted you to know, you would kill it if you opened a location in Ballard. I guarantee it would be your busiest location. There’s a spot on 65th&20thNW that used to be a BBQ place, would make a perfect Heaven Sent. See if it’s still available or find somewhere in Ballard please so I don’t have to drive so far :)

I’m not a huge fast food fan in general, but if you are in the mood for something quick, tasty, and comforting — this is the place to go! We have such limited options for quality food in LCW, fast food included. Heaven Sent is certainly not the healthiest(I would go to Taco Time for healthier fast food) but it is good quality and tasty.

I was not at all a fan of this. The chicken was greasy as can be, the mashed potatoes were making, and the service was some of the worst I have ever had. The man working the cash register was the only redeeming factor, the rest was just awful. I shall not return.

I love love loooooove Fried Chicken. I was addicted to Ezell’s when I lived closer and I am now addicted to Heaven Sent. The chicken here is so delicious. I can’t tell a difference from Ezells. It is always hot, juicy, crispy and just amazing. I have only ever ordered 2PC dark meal(I prefer the spicy chicken– it isn’t too spicy but just a little extra kick but I would bet good money that the non-spicy is also good). Heaven sent offers a wider variety of sides– some are a little more spendy(Mac & Cheese) but totally worth it. This place is tiny and can get crowded(especially game days, rainy days, dinner time.) and sometimes can run out of sides– but it is ok everything is good here, just be prepared and have a back up option!

Was excited to try since I had been a huge Ezell’s fan back in the day. The woman working at 3:30 this afternoon couldn’t have been more lovely and spot on customer service, thank you! Got a family meal with sides to take to my kids/grandkids. Original chicken very good, not outstanding. Mashed potatoes were AWFUL(am so sorry), gravy was good, beans were great and rolls were good. Just expected the sides to be complimentary to the chicken. Potatoes were so hard and dry when we tried to scoop some onto plate, a huge chunk shot across the room… well, the dog ate.

Was curious if there was a difference. Heard the chicken was amazing so I went there to eat some. Very good. Then was told there was a mini feud between partnership. Thats why chciken tasted as good as ezell’s. No difference just different name of establishment.

YUM! Fried chicken, you are my best friend. I’m not going to get into the Ezell’s/Heaven Sent debate; they’re both good and this particular Heaven Sent location is just closer to where I live. I’m no chicken snob, I’ll take the clucker however it comes. The fried chicken is crispy and juicy and I love it with the soft golden bread it comes with. They have plenty of sides but my focus is the chicken. They also have fried chicken liver, which I am not a fan of at all, but some other people do, so props to Heaven Sent for catering to different tastes.
