I ordered the tuna salad, and the quality of the raw fish was very good. Great taste, appropriately sized portions, and, for the location, pricing was reasonable. They have a variety of options, so coming here more than once won’t feel too repetitive. If you’re having a tough time finding decent salad options for lunch near Westlake Center, then I would highly recommend trying this place out!

Bottom line: My new go-to lunch spot. It’s super easy to get a delicious lunch with Lovage. Go to their website, select your items, pay online, then pick up. Not only are their prices reasonable for the quality and serving sizes, but anything that gets me out of the office and into the Market is worth a try. I had their salmon pasta and what I liked most is that it wasn’t overly fishy(ew!), which can easily happen with salmon pastas. Their customer service is great, I got a phone call to say that my dish would take an additional 10 – 15 minutes because they needed to pick up more fresh pasta. No problem!

I feel very conflicted about writing this review. I’d heard good things about Lovage and snagged a Groupon as soon as I saw one. Food: I ordered a jerk chicken bowl, and it was good, it was sweet with the pineapple and jerk spices. However, when I opened the takeout box, I saw a curly black hair lying right in my food. I noticed that no one in the restaurant was using a hair net, so I guess I am not surprised. It turned me off and I lost some of my appetite. Atmosphere: I went at 1:30 pm, after the lunch rush. The shop is small, a few tables, but really not much. The beverage coolers seems broken/dirty, so I didn’t try to take any. Overall, I felt the sanitary level could be much better. I do not plan to return.

I’ve looked at other reviews on Unilocal so I wanted to try this place for lunch. I was greeted by a friendly gentleman at the front counter but it was all downhill from there. I had the Jerked Chicken Bowl and it was bland, as well as, included onions which I asked the guy at the counter on the way in if they could cook it without onions and he assured me they could. I planned to eat it in the restaurant but they were so slow I ended up having to get it to go so it ended up being chicken bowl in a box. Once I picked out the onions though, the entire dish was not jerked chicken at all. I don’t think these guys have ever been to the Caribbean if they think this is jerked chicken. Wow, what a disappointment. I think I went to this place on the appropriate day, Friday the 13th, because it was like a nightmare. I have to say, I don’t have any love for Lovage, that’s for sure. What a waste of money and time. I definitely won’t be back but if you go, you’ve been warned. This place is a one and done kind of experience for me.

Mulu and the team of professionals at Lovage catered our wedding in September and we are absolutely thrilled with how everything turned out… thank you Lovage!!! This all started about 6 months ago when we reached out via e-mail to see if our event was something they’d be willing to take on. Mulu responded enthusiastically and helped us derive a menu that included our Lovage favorites(the smoked salmon and jerk chicken bowls) and aligned with our goals(fresh, healthy, and delicious)! They also helped us with a few special requests by providing the fresh toppings on the side(tomato/lime/etc.) and preparing our order early in the morning so we could pick it up before lunch. The lovage team also supplied the catering equipment(trays, racks, and burners) to help our event go off without a hitch. We are truly happy with Lovage’s excellent cuisine and customer service that Mulu and the team provided. Be sure to think of Lovage the next time you are looking for a tasty Pike Place lunch or hosting a meal for 100 of your best friends and family(or coworkers)! We are excited to remember our wedding every time we enjoy a Lovage meal in the future. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Lovely family who opened this little, sweet restaurant. The owner was very helpful and so kind! And to not forget: the food was awesome! We told this to the owner and he gave us his receipt book! Great moment in emerald city! Love it!

I tried to be fair with this review. I even gave them time to try and make it right but no go. I ordered online a couple weeks ago and went in to pick my order up. When I went in to pick it up I was told the system crashed and they don’t have my order ready. I ended up waiting 15 minutes for my order. I called the manager and was promised a free lunch. Two weeks later — still no coupon. I called in this past Tuesday to get my certificate and was promised again — nothing. Finally I called in today to say I’m ordering lunch and I want to use my free lunch voucher that I had yet to receive. I tried to place an order for a salmon Caesar and was told they were out today. When I arrived to pick up my lunch and asked to speak with the manager, the lady at the front stated she was the manager. I proceeded to tell her my issues and she seemed less than interested. On top of that my dish was ok at best I won’t be coming back.

Who: friends Where: downtown When: weekday lunch What: Jamaican jerk bowl Why: Amongst the crowds and traffic of Pike Place, it always amazes me how this place remains an oasis of fresh and healthy food. I always stop by when visiting Seattle, especially that time in the middle of vacation when you feel like a wastebasket of indulgence. After days of snacking and drinking, the bf and I met up here with a friend who works in downtown Seattle. As usual, it was calm, relaxing, and refreshing.

It is with a HEAVYHEART that I must update my gleaming 5 star review. The place that had wowed and amazed me has truly let me down. I write this update not to vent, but to make sure the owners can understand the severity of their lack of concern. In fact, I had sent them a friendly Facebook message FIRST to not tarnish their Unilocal page but never heard back… I came back here and ordered the same Caribbean Salad I ordered before only to find out about 90% through that they somehow added nuts to it this time. Keep in mind that their store menu AND their online menu says nothing about nuts. Nuts are an extremely common allergy. How can a business not take into consideration that someone might not appreciate nuts all up in their plate? Long story short, I almost ended up in the emergency room with a blown up face and was very close to losing the ability to breathe. I still recommend this place to anyone so long as you don’t have any allergies as this place obviously could care less about them.

First ever Unilocal review because this place is so bomb. I am obsessed with the fresh ingredients and the way everything is mixed together. If you don’t like this as noted in a review below, might not be your place. This is the best lunch in Seattle hands down for the price and flavor. If I could design a restaurant that cooked the type of food I like, this is exactly what I would come up with. Seriously though, do yourself a favor and go.

Adding a star because since I posted this review, our quinoa has been rice-free! Yay! Previous criticism for context: Good food, overall, but when I order quinoa, I want quinoa, not quinoa mixed with white rice apparently to stretch it out, which is a cheat at the expense of me, the customer. I don’t eat meat, so my choices are limited. I don’t ever choose to eat white rice and I can’t imagine why I’d want it in my quinoa. Want to mix rice in your quinoa? Fine. Call it «quinoa with rice.» Not impressed.

This place is worth the hype! Though the bowls look deceptively small in their containers, they turn into an insanely filling meal — I just barely finished my On the Border Bowl and my friend could only down half of hers even though she said it was amazing. Owner is super nice and spot is quaint — not much seating but the owner will do what he can to make sure you’re comfortable while you wait and dine. Loved it so much wanted to go back the day after but alas, not enough time.

First my chicken was undercooked. Tried to give these guys the benefit of the doubt by returning a second time only to find a hair in my salad. I wanted to like this place. Theoretically perfect. But actually questionable at least by my standards.

Love all the super fresh ingredients. As someone who eats Paleo, this is a great option — just be sure to ask for no grains! It does take a while — this is not and in-and-out place — but it’s worth the 15 min wait.

The food was so good!!! I wanted to come here because my friend recommended this place for the poke, but I ended up getting the kale basil pesto bowl recommended by the cashier. The bowl was so flavorful and tasty! They also give you a lot for what you pay for, and I thought it was pretty filling(my bowl was slightly under $ 9 without tip). What I liked about this place was that they also use very healthy ingredients and it tastes healthy as well. The food does take a while to come out, but I think it’s because they cook each order individually right when you order it — it was piping hot when they served it to me! It’s kind of inconvenient because this place is only open for lunch and it’s a small place to sit down, so it’s most ideal for take-out. However, it’s still really good and I highly recommend it. I can’t wait to come back and try their other bowls and salads!

Wow, I was extremely impressed with Lovage. I loved the tuna poke salad. I was able to sub the quinoa for kale and zucchini. The tuna poke was definitely different from the Hawaiian style but so so good. It had the perfect amount of spice that was well balanced with the rest of the salad. I also had a bite of the Asian peanut curry bowl with rice noodles… Soooo tasty. I can’t wait to go back and try the jerk chicken as well as the Cajun shrimp/sausage. All the workers are super friendly and everything is fresh and made to order.

Been feenin’ to come back since my first visit, but they were closed for a few months and finally they reopened back up! Just as delicious and the chef is still there cooking it up! This time I tried the East African Rice & Quinoa bowl w/chicken. Delicious! Nice spicy flavors, fresh veggies, super hot as he cooks each bowl to order. The chef gave me the official«chin up» look when I ordered it, so I think that’s his specialty. Word. FYI: My photo of this dish may look different as he cooks with whatever veggies he has available, compared to other East African bowls posted here.

LOVAGE is a hidden gem! this place is across from the bagel shop by Pike Place Market and the menu is everything I want for lunch at great prices. You can choose from salads, to raw/hot bowls with lots of fresh veggies, seafood/meat and gluten free options of rice noodle quinoa cous cous or pasta. I love the peanut curry bowl I got and would like to try for cold items when the weather is warmer like the poke salad and the smoked salmon raw bowl. They are closing for a month but will be open again in March!

It doesnt seem so, but the Poki quinoa here is YUMMZZZ! On the hunt for a good poki bowl joint(none of that fancy restaurant appetizer type of poki with puny portions) I stumbled across lovage! I didnt think I’d be able to find such a fresh and tasty poki option at such a salad/healthy-orientated place. I believe the cost was around. ~$ 10 for the bowl, and it was able to satisfy 3 girls :) The poki was very flavorful, and I didnt get any gross filaments fish(a problem i’ve been running into in seattle when places uses less than desireable cuts of fish) I get the cravings to go back all the time, but the limited hours is what kills me :(I hope I can come back again soon! This place would be 5 stars if hours were more readily accessible !

I’m eating an Asian Peanut Curry Hot Bowl as I write this. This is basically my new favorite lunch place. A co-worker was eating something that smelled delicious and directed me to Lovage. I’ve been here a handful of times now and I want to keep going back. Each bowl is made/cooked to order and packed to the gills with fresh veggies. The chef/owner is awesome and super friendly. Apparently, they’re going to start selling kits you can buy to cook your own bowls at home. Can’t wait to try it! If you want a flavor explosion party in your mouth, this is the place.
