Dr. Pehling is no doubt a good clinician however as a patient/client it’s overshadowed by the entire office experience. Expect to wait over an hour for each and every visit no matter how early you get there or if you don’t… consider yourself lucky. I’m a very patient person with a broad understanding that there can be extenuating circumstances that can alter the office schedule(especially when there’s only 1 doctor) and can make the entire day get behind. This is not what I’m complaining about. This is a chronic, demeaning issue that has forced me(after 6 visits) to basically not care about my bite issue anymore and am now refusing to go back. The office staff is impervious to your waiting that long and seem indifferent. Also, the(out of pocket) $ 1850 splint I was recommended to buy was given with very little instruction; more time was spent on discussing how I was going to pay for it than how to use it. Again, he seems like a Doctor that knows his specialty but the rest of the experience around that negates the positive.

It’s a good thing this place doesn’t have much competition, because this place is routinely late on seeing you. If you’re a regular person, you come to appointments 10 minutes early, right? Don’t expect to be seen an hour, if not more, after the specific appointment time set. Otherwise, they’re great. You just have to have a lot of free time, and maybe bring a good book.

I am not sure about the receptionist, but I am a big fan of Dr Pehling. He may run late but he put me in the first splint that made my jaw comfortable after seeing a number of dentist for an occlusion issue — a big relief as I needed a break from dentists trying to fix the issue. He told me things that made sense and although I don’t live in the area any more I think if needed I would fly back in to see him. Was cheaper than others as well. You will that your money isn’t going into buying lots of art to make a showcase lobby area which I appreciate — just paying for his skills.
