I want to thank John who works at the Wallingford Walgreens Pharmacy for an outstanding job: Not only does he go above and beyond to assist my aging parents but he also helped me tremendously with my often complicated canine prescriptions. Just fantastic!

Never thought I’d give a Walgreens 5 stars but here I am. This Walgreens is the best thing that’s happened to Wallingford since, since — well, since Dick’s opened I guess. Anyhow, it’s convenient, they have parking, a decent stock of food and booze and I can pick up prescriptions. I can even pick up the odd pair of leggings when I need an unfaded pair to spruce up my outfit. I’ve never had an unfriendly encounter with the staff. Basically, if for some reason Wallingford was quarantined, I’d be fine for a while as long as I had access to this Walgreens.

This is the closest location to my house, and it’s relatively new compared to other locations in the city. It’s clean and pretty small. The staff is helpful is sought out, although don’t seem to go above and beyond. I feel bad for them with all of the stupid lines Walgreens makes them say, and the counter items they make them upsell. That must be really annoying. Overall a good corner drug store.

I am so pleased with the Walgreens pharmacy at the Stone Way location. They are always friendly and very prompt in filling prescriptions. Today I went in the pick up one and realized I should’ve had another one filled, too. When I asked about it, the pharmacist went to check, and without saying anything, even with a couple of other people in line, didn’t ask me to come back in 20 minutes, and instead filled it immediately. Since we were leaving for our of town, I was especially happy that I wouldn’t have to make another trip to pick it up. Though that is another great thing about Walgreens. You can transfer a prescription to any Walgreens anywhere!

Walgreens does have most of what you need, particularly when you need it right now. But, customer service is relatively poor. I’ve had this experience at most Walgreens stores, but cashiers are empowered to do very little. At this particular store, the upselling of impulse buy items at the register cam be pretty pushy. Returns and exchanges of any item are extremely difficult and viewed with extreme suspicion. There’s a Bartell’s just up the street with better service and a similar selection. Do yourself a favor and shop there instead – and support a local company.

One of the pharmacists is completely incompetent. Rude, unhelpful, mumbles annoyed answers. They didn’t have a prescription I needed, but they did not contact me to tell me this. Just sent the stock email that it was ready. So I requested they fill it in Ballard. Got to Ballard and they had not called it in at all. I’m just annoyed that every time I’m in there is some issue.

I didn’t even know this Walgreens was here until I visited the ZoomCare across the street and needed to fill a prescription. The young lady at the pharmacy counter(who unfortunately, is moving to another location soon) was extremely nice and efficient in getting my prescriptions ready. I didn’t realize you could get anything besides the flu vaccine at Walgreens, but when I realized that they offer vaccines recommended for my upcoming trip to India(Hep A and Typhoid, among many others offered), I asked for them and they were in stock. I waited probably 15 minutes while the prescription was processed, which gave me time to shop the shelves for other travel meds. She was also great at giving shots — I avoid them like the plague, usually, but I didn’t even feel the first one! She was also really patient with an older customer who was obviously a regular that appreciates her. Carrie at the beauty counter was also very nice and helped me find things before checking me out quickly. I’ll definitely be back to this location!

The guys at the pharmacy here are great, especially John. He always remembers my name and can pretty much just grab my perscriptions on sight, and I’ve never had to wait longer then twenty minutes for a prescription, even when it’s busy. Totally reccomend this pharmacy, it has a «neighborhood» like feel which makes for a very pleasant experience every time I have to stop in. I’ve also seen how the staff here handle upset customers, and they’re never rude, even when the costumer takes out some of their anger on the staff. It should be understood that the pharmacist does not have control over a) the doctor, b) insurance, and c) the law, but even when the customer doesn’t get this I’ve always seen the staff do their best to help however they can within the constrains of the system and legality.

If you ever need to see the futility of human life playing in an endless, music-less, multi-scene loop, drop by any one of your neighborhood Walgreens, pull up one of their hideous plastic garden chairs and grab a Buddha-sized bottle of your favorite drink(hard booze is behind the cash register, however), and plop yourself down by the lineup at the cash register. You won’t be disappointed. What can I say? Shopping at this Walgreens is only marginally better than waiting in line at a soup kitchen, because you have to. Although this location is new, well-stocked and closest to my home, I often go to the Bartells down the street, because I forget the Walgreens is even here(it’s my mind selectively blocking out the negative). The issue here is service, or the lack thereof. During the few times I’ve been(at lunch, early morning, weekend afternoon), there’s always only one person at the cash register, ringing up the goods with the speed of a geriatric with arthritis in all fingers, whose misplaced his glasses.(Actually, the glasses are on a rope around the geratric’s neck, but he doesn’t notice.) It’s good that the hard booze is behind the counter, because after waiting in line and witnessing all of this at the cash, you’ll need a stiff drink. In that case, I’d recommend the QFC down the street, which might have better prices.

I come in here during my lunch hour because it’s pretty close by where I work plus they have parking. I usually get good customer service here but the last time I was here I was pretty shock. I went and did my normal shopping and was getting ready to pay. The male cashier had no one in line and he did not look busy at all. I started emptying my basket and he paused and asked me if I can go to the other register. I was OK with it even though it was on the other side of the store but then another customer showed up and he started ringing her up! I thought that was rude of him. I gave this place 2 star because they do have great deals and the lady from the cosmetic is always friendly.

I have a cast and am on crutches… so not easy for me to get around. If I’m there to refill my pain medication chances are I’m not feeling that well. I was really disappointed they wouldn’t let me use their bathroom. What kind of jerks make a girl on crutches go crutch to the near by restaurants begging to use their bathroom? The ones at the Wallingford Walgreens.

I prefer Bartell’s but this is a little closer. The folks are nice but the cold drink selection is lacking. The location is on the south side of 45th not the North.
