Another night in Louisianna looking for good food. I found it here. Kind of a dive bar feel with really good menu items. Ordered the scallops. Very tasty dish. The clam chowder was so-so. First beer was not very cold as they had to change the keg. Overall very good experience. I am glad I came here. Karoke is starting up. No, I am not going to sing tonight… festive atmosphere. Nice I would come back. Nice local flavor and good vibe here.

Loud AF music & we weren’t that close. I’ve been to other places where you don’t have to shout in your friend’s ear. They burned the nachos too. The head waiter was snapping on his staff & the patrons. Our particular waiter was good, giving good drink suggestions… Maybe it was an off night. IDK.

They have the best French Onion soup ever! If you are visiting from out of town this a must. Great atmosphere and food!

Best bar in this god forsaken town. Finding this place gave me hope for the south. Everywhere else will cause you to lose hope. So, if you’re forced to go to Shreveport like I was… Then go here. The food is good and the people care about their tavern.

Best«bar food» in Shreveport you’ll find. Everything tasted fresh and the drinks were great. Super friendly service from the man who checks ID’s to our server. My husband and I enjoyed playing pool while eating our dinner. We are surely making this a regular place.

Had a half dozen beverages there from the minute they opened. The bartender was exceptional and the drinks were priced well. The food was a bit on the pricey side for that which was delivered but it was very good. The only down side for this northern guy is that my clothes stunk of smoke when I left. Not a specific issue to this property though as it it still legal here.

0% evil bartender tax with check-in! Last year the bar closed for a bit because the previous owner(‘allegedly’ according to the bartender) shot his wife in cold blood! Good selection of local beer from Great Raft Brewing. I liked«Commotion» an American Pale Ale the best of the three I tried. The guys beside me at the bar ordered both Rumplemintz and Fireball while talking about their growing rap careers. Don’t be these guys. The bar owner greeted me promptly and talked about beer with me. They have a reputation for amazing food. I heard something in the daily special about clam chowder made by a chef from Massachusetts and a salad with a lemon or lime«reduction.» I have no idea what that even means. I guess«reduction» is when you serve something on a plate then take it away from the customers. Here is your fancy salad with a fresh lime wedge. Hahaha I snatched it from you because I said it was a reduction! Excellent beer, food, and service with an awesome legend. What more can you ask for?

Had a great Cash tribute band playing when I walked in. Had an excellent selection of reasonably priced scotches. Will be coming back soon to drive their food menu! Great vibe!

The staff in here is really awesome! In my recent trip to Shreveport they really made me feel welcome. Lee is a fantastic bartender he really knows his craft. They have a really awesome selection of scotch and whiskey and interesting beers on the menu I had never tried before! I love this place and when I go back to Shreveport I will definitely visit.

I heard the story about the crazy guy who ran this place. I am pretty sure the crazy guy has left the building and they are now under new management. I don’t live in Shreveport but when I was visiting I was looking for a place to hang out with friends and family in the evening. The noble savage is downtown. The only opportunity for improvement I have to share is that parking is a bit difficult. This is not the noble savages doing, but it is downtown so we had to find a spot on the street and walk a few blocks. The tavern is set up nicely with a nice bar and a great selection of beers as well as mixed drinks. Our party had a few different beers and I personally had a couple martinis. The martinis were excellent and I didn’t hear anybody from my party complaining about their drink. The prices were also reasonable in my opinion. The atmosphere is laid back which we all enjoyed and they had live music the night we were there. The particular band that night could have been a little louder because they were often drowned out by the bar chatter. From what I could hear the music was decent and it added to the ambiance of the tavern. I will be back to this place when I visit Shreveport again and I recommend you give it a try as well.

Wow. This is really sad and crazy! This used to be my absolutely most favorite bar in Shreveport-Bossier City! Good food! Good drinks! Cigars were openly accepted! Just a great place! I even saw Jessica Biel in here one night, as she was in town making a film. But, by the looks of it, this place is now sadly and suddenly closed and what a true tragic ending this really is. Check out the ongoing story below, this is as of approximately 11pm on Thursday 09÷11÷14:

They have some amazing food and if not the best drink selection in town, then they come very close toooooo it! And if you come on Thursday nights, the live band will liven up any night!

This is both my favorite bar and favorite restaurant in Shreveport. Everyday they have a different dinner special, and of all the times I’ve come here It has never let me down. The atmosphere is very laid back and unpretentious, and it’s my favorite place to hang out with a group. Also, the muffulettas are the best in town. Food can be a bit pricey but totally worth it.

I am a fan of their food, music, and selection of beer and liquor. Lately, the service has been on the decline. This has caused my visits to be less frequent, but I wil still get a hankering for the carnivore pizza every now and again. I recommend everything on the menu, but moreso the muffaletta and any of the pizzas. If friends were visiting and wanted a really great, relaxing place to meet up and have drinks and great food, I would most definitely take them here.

Seemingly anything I could want in a bar – a dark, comfortable atmosphere and a gigantic American flag, exposed brick and timbers. But never have I had a truly good time there – the bar is quite narrow and actually getting a drink is painful and difficult as crossing the broad majestic Shannon. The food is decent, but I don’t go to bars to eat: I go to forget. When bands play they are often good, or good enough – a couple of dads and dentists pretending to be Booker T & The MGs – but their loudnesses are often overpowering. And so you go into the other side of the bar, where there are darts and dictionaries waiting to fall from high shelves, and you wait to eventually leave. There is always always some asshole with the world’s smelliest cigar there, and once I saw a man who looked like he used to play drums in the E Street Band.

It seemed like a really nice bar, but it’s hard to form an opinion about a place that kicks everyone out hours before closing because the staff is bored.

I’ve been going to the Savage long before I discovered Unilocal and have always loved this place… typically I go to enjoy an adult beverage but I have eaten here a time or two… I noticed that they had this place listed in the simply Bars category which is damn dead wrong!!! This place is a Dive Bar that serves a good meal! The 2 times I’ve eaten here I’ve enjoyed immensely… The chef always rotates a «wild game» option on the menu… maybe venison, rabbit, kangaroo, ostrich… you never know and people say it’s good. Personally I’ve never gone that route as I usually have just enjoyed the simple cut of steak cooked to perfection when I’ve been there. However, my main reason for frequenting this place is the fact they have Guinness and Smithwick on tap and I do LOVE downing several pints of Blacksmith(½ Guinness and ½ Smithwicks) and like a good blacksmith should it will hammer you!!! Another buddy likes going because they serve Boddington’s…it’s in the can but it has that little barrel in it so it tastes like it was poured from the tap… I’m usually not there for the live music because this has always been an early stop pre-7PM for me but the word is they usually have really great music. The main bar is smoky(cigars are allowed), dark, narrow and long with a great assortment of spirits and beers on tap… Please see a pic I posted about what NOT to ask for from the bar… Be forewarned if you ask for an item on that list you may very well see your ass getting hustled out the door!!! They have a 2d room with a coupla pool tables and dart boards… All in all a great place that I enjoy spending time at when I’m in Shreveport/Bossier City

I like Noble Savage. I’ve been there several times, and have always had a good time there. The bar has a very old-school bar feel that is somewhat refreshing. One odd thing: Noble Savage looks like it was originally two storefronts. In the front of the side away from the entrance, there are some odd counters and a tiny runway/stage. I don’t know what they are for, but if I’ve had enough cocktails, I start to fantsize about stripping. Pray that you are not at Noble Savage if that ever actually happens! It’s not something you want to see. It is a little strange that someone at the door checks the ID of every person entering, but I don’t find it overly inconvenient. Some of the food is great, some not so good! I highly recommend the nachos, which come on a HUGE platter and are absolutely delicious. The gumbo is also excellent. I’ve heard tell that it’s the best gumbo in Shreveport. The only hamburger I ate there, despite the fact that I always request medium rare, was so overcooked that the Nobele Savage owed the cow an apology. The crowd at Noble Savage is local and very friendly. I have had some good conversations there. When there’s an event going on, the place can get ridiculously loud, though, so it might not be your choice if you want an intimate date. Like other Unilocalers, I have found the service at Noble Savage to be a mixed bag. It’s good sometimes, and nonexistent at others. If you are in Shreveport, Noble Savage is worth a visit.

Really? This is the best Shreveport has to offer? The location is Downtown in what seems like a Ghost Town. I walk in and a hostess almost attacks me asking for ID — just a very rude way of asking. There was one waitress at the bar with only three patrons. The female bartender was only interested in talking with the regulars(who were ordering Schlitz), while I paid $ 20 for a Chimay(the only had the large format bottle). The waitress was telling them her life story and about her divorce. I couldn’t get her attention to order. Then the waitress wouldn’t let me order a $ 32 entrée at the bar, despite the fact that the place was empty, because I «needed reservations.» Sorry — best to pass on this place, although I didn’t find much better in Shreveport.

The most anti-social and objectionable hostess/waitress made our experience sour. We were the only table in there and it was obvious she couldn’t be bothered to wait on us, and she mocked my husband’s accent. I asked the bartender, who seemed like a decent guy what was up. He just shrugged his shoulders and said, ‘Oh, that’s just how she is.’ Her behavior was completely normal and totally OK with them. It’s not OK with me. The Good: The food was fine, we didn’t experience any problems with the quality of the kitchen. That being said, it wasn’t amazing enough to return. The ambience is awesome. And lots of great bands play here so there’s always entertainment. The entertainment and downtown location is definitely the draw. Plus the pub-crawl bus stops here from Artspace. The Bad: I’ll never return. When management hires and keeps staff with bad attitudes and zero customer service, there’s no point in returning.

The atmosphere here is wonderful. It is very old school bar. But the food… !!! Started with Philadelphia Pepper Pot soup. Wonderful. Spicy and flavorful. Main course was Kangaroo in a blueberry sauce. This was simply amazing. A super tender red meat similar enough to beef but very unique. For dessert was Pumpkin Cheesecake. Sugar, chocolate, and caramel on top? Sure why not. Awesome! I am definitely hooked.

I haven’t been there in years, but this was indeed my favorite place to go when I lived in Shreveport. Besides all of the good times that were had here drinking beer, shooting pool, and throwing darts, I saw lots of interesting live music acts here that ran the gamut from folk to blues to country and Celtic. This is a small venue that features music nearly every night, and one of the best places to meet the artists playing the music. Whenever friends visited from out of town, we took ‘em to the Noble Savage. Whenever we were able to entertain on the company dollar, we took ‘em to Noble Savage. Whenever we wanted great food(with an ever-changing original menu), a respectable beer selection, and friendly service, we went to Noble Savage. I still remember how good their regular pub grub was, including a fabulous muffaletta! That just about says it all as this place deserves high praise for being wholly original, unapologetically rustic, and a foot-stompin’ good time! Hands down, the best destination in downtown Shreveport.
