I out of 5 meals was descent. That’s a bad rstio. Management was horrible. Our server was young and inexperienced yet he threw her under the bus with excuses. She was slow and blamed the kitchen but he can’t blame a server for over cooked tasteless food. Our host had raved about this place but our experience was a disaster. My ribs were Luke warm and tasteless, the porterhouse was medium but ordered rare, the beef tips came with burnt onions.

Great food, great service, reasonably priced. The restrooms are clean and the rustic décor is pleasant. The tables are not too close together like in some restaurants. We have eaten here many times and it is always good. Steaks are cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this place. I will return again and again. I can’t find anything negative to say about this restaurant.

My wife and I went on our first date here back in late 1996. November 25. There was an ice storm that night and the Vintage Inn was closed. I was a student at John Brown and was trying to impress her by taking her to a move place. I drove on to Callahan’s and we had some great food. We ended up getting married and have been together for 19 years. Thanks to Callahan’s for providing the place for our first date, and for having opened that night, in spite of the ice storm!

Calahans is probably the only meat and potatoes restaurant left in Siloam Springs. Good fare, good prices, hot food. Checkout the chicken fried steak smothered in white gravy. Old fashioned goodness.

This place is awesome! I eat here frequently and bring clients here for business luncheons. The food is consistently great and affordable.

I wasn’t a fan at first but now it’s my favorite spot for a steak in town. Onion strings are excellent, mad the salad is very good! Only complaint I have is that they don’t offer a veterans discount. Seems pretty disrespectful! Hello welcome to America.

I usually just order a 10oz ribeye(rare) and double the sweet potato fries since I don’t want to eat salad. The steak itself is like a hit or miss. Sometime they do a good job at making it rare, sometime it’s just way to rare(like they just grill each side for like 5 seconds at the most), or sometime they give me a medium rare instead. Medium rare is a big different if you like your steak to be rare, like me. I mostly go there for the sweet potato fries since I have not found any other steak house that fry the fries and not just bake it. The steak is the only reason why I’m giving this a 4 stars. I don’t really eat anything else from here so I only judge base on the one order that I make whenever I go there. Other than that, the customer service is good. The waiting time for the steak is around 10 – 20 min. Oh I did try the soup there actually. It’s not my favorite because I think it’s a bit too salty for me.

I was in for business and Siloam Springs doesn’t offer much and I wasn’t in the mood for take out so I figure, every small town should have a good steak house. We’ll Mr. Callahan, you serve steak. Yay. Service was good, I don’t have any complaints there… I ordered a Med Rare Ribeye, Baked Potato and a salad. It’s always a bad sign, well at least to me when a steakhouse has A-1 on the table, Callahans steak is a good reason. It came out burnt on the outside and Medium leaning towards medium well on the inside. Ugh. I loaded it up with A-1 to cover up the burnt dry flavor and forged through. The potato and salad were good. I guess if I was back in Siloam Springs again I would try something else like a burger. Which I have to say as far as affordability the pricing was right. My advice for the grill cooks is turn your heat down.

Meh. We were starving after a kayak day-trip, so stopped in for a late lunch. I was the lone vegetarian of our 4-person group, so I didn’t expect wonders with the veggie burger, but I was hoping for something more than a frozen, commercial patty. I didn’t give them a low rating for that, though; that’s not fair in a steakhouse! Ha. But the tomatoes that came with the burger were … sticky? Were they rotten? I’m not sure because I left them, and the slimy leaf of lettuce, off of my burger. I was PUMPED that they offered sweet potato fries. But they were completely ruined by the weird sauce that was drizzled over them. I *think* it was supposed to taste like that super-sugary sweet potato casserole that some people make for Thanksgiving. Nope. Just leave the sweet potato fry alone! Let it be good at what it does – no need to dessert-ify a fry. Hubby asked for white gravy on his chicken fried steak but got brown. I give two stars instead of only one because the bread was pretty good and the onion appetizer was ok.

I was told this was the best place to eat in Silom Springs. The service as people described was very good. Wife ordered a filet medium rare. Steak came rare which she ate the outer part and I at the raw parts. But it was good. Reason for 4 stars. Baked Potato was good too. Ordered the fried mushrooms and these were ok. Typical small town steakhouse, not a bad place to eat.

If you’re looking for a good steak, this isn’t the place. Good service and atmosphere. The steaks just aren’t very good.

The food was ok for a local steak house. If I could I would give it a 2.5 but my chicken was so dry. The service was good but the care in presentation of food just did not make a good impression it fell flat.

Eaten here several times and I’m never disappointed. Love the atmosphere and love the staff. The food is great as well. It’s a regular stop on many family vacations and business trips. Stopped on 2÷14÷15 for my wife’s birthday and they sang to her and had fun with her. We will be back.

Years ago Callahan’s was good, for the money. Tonight we went and nothing delivered to the table showed any pride. Steak was ‘chewy’ and taste bad. Vegetables didn’t taste fresh. Fries were unevenly &UNDER cooked. Worst of all, there was a BONE in my chicken fried steak. It was already a terrible CFS as the batter was so thick and poorly cooked it was ‘soggy’ next to the meat. I handed the bone, still attached to meat to the«manager». His only response was to offer me a «free desert» [seriously] and say loudly«My cheesecake doesn’t have bones! [haha]» I did NOT take the desert and we paid and left. The waitresss NEVER asked us about the food and I don’t blame her. This was the last chance for Callahan’s for me. It has become completely ‘hit & miss’ as my wife put it. Today showed they don’t care about their product and definitely don’t care about customers. LAST money I give them.

Terrible service. Had to get our on flatware. Almost had yo get my on refill. Steaks where not cooked right. Bathroom dirty. First seated us in an area so dimly lite I couldn’t read the menu. Prices where that of a great steakhouse, this is something more like self serve.

Writing as someone visiting for business in Siloam Springs… this is a fantastic location for dinner or takeout. I just stopped by this evening to pick up a meal before getting to the hotel, and was beyond impressed with the way they do a take out streak! Cooked to perfection, plenty of yummy toppings for the potato and salad, warm bread. I doubt«five star» steak houses are as consistent. Came here a few times for s sit down dinner and it was great! They don’t serve alcohol which stinks, but that’s not their fault(oh us Texans and desire for a drink at the end of the day!!!) The best part of this place is the friendly staff. Always attentive and kind.

Unremarkable. The highlight of the experience was the happy, friendly hostess. I got the bacon cheese burger. Three perfectly cooked pieces of bacon. The patty was a generous size and had the char I like, but was very dry. Either the pickles or the onions that came on the side smelled fishy. :( The server wasn’t unfriendly, just unenthused. Never asked me how I was doing until she handed me my ticket. If this place we’re in a larger town with more options it wouldn’t last. Better chance that I won’t be back than will.

Callahan’s is a good place to take a family for dinner, and the staff is usually friendly. The prices are a little high in my book, but the steaks are always good, and the burgers huge. The fried mushrooms are always very good also. They do not serve alcohol, so do not expect to have a cold one with your kitchen sink burger.

I’ve been a Siloamite for the past five years, and hadn’t had the chance of getting over to Callahan’s till a day ago. Gotta say, I was pretty impressed. Our waitress was able to seat us the moment we walked in the door despite our party size of five. Our drinks got to us in about five minutes upon sitting down, and our food within fifteen minutes. I ordered the fried catfish with a side of grilled green bell peppers and onions. I got two large pieces of catfish that were fried to perfection, and the grilled veggies were pretty good. I say pretty good because by the time they got to the table they weren’t quite as hot as I would have liked, more warm than anything. The catfish was nice and hot though, so I wasn’t gonna complain. The bread that they bring out before your food gets there is great too. Warm and fresh. Just the way I like it. In all, good service, good food, and good pricing. I’m giving them 4 stars because of the semi cold veggies.

Was just about to give this place a 5 — great steak… cooked to perfection… good loaded baked potatoe… good service. until. Her friends arrived then my iced tea sat empty for 10 minutes… overall perfect for lunch… definitely will stop again when in town
