Went on a Monday afternoon for lunch. Ambience was cozy and the service was good as our waiter was friendly, attentive, and prompt. Appetizers: Hot & Sour, Miso Soup, and Kani Salad were all decent. Sushi: Nigiri options were super delicious and fresh — definitely the highlight of the meal; we had Mackerel, Eel, Salmon, White Tuna, and Tuna Lunch specials were definitely worth it, especially the sushi rolls; at 3 rolls(18 pcs) for around $ 10-$ 11 for good portions made it a good deal. Had Salmon-Avocado, Eel-Avocado, and Spicy Tuna Roll, all delicious and adequately proportioned in terms of the fish-to-rice ratio. Overall, I’d definitely go back again soon. Good service, great sushi!

We’ve been here a few times, with kids and just as adults. Very pleasant and responsive experience in all cases. My son dropped a fork in the floor tonight, and someone came over with a replacement before he could even reach over to retrieve the dropped one. The sushi has a very«freshly assembled» taste/feel; the combinations are very flavorful. My son really liked his salmon teriyaki. We recommend it.

I had such high hopes for this place since my friends only had good things to say I decided I would try it. The setting is nice, spacious, & clean. The service is TERRIBLE. We asked for an extra large plate and they wouldn’t provide one unless we ordered another entrée, server said large plates were for meals only WTF! He didn’t keep an eye on our table as we had to ask numerous times for refills. Drunken noodles was decent.(it was a bit spicy) we also had the Yummy Roll and the Rock & Roll, also decent rolls… nothing orgasmic about them. I may give it a 2nd chance but it’ll never be better than my all time favorite spot SUI’s Bistro! Go try it! UPDATE: I don’t think I’ll ever go back. I’ve been up all night sick to my stomach.

It took an hour to drive 6 miles yet it was worth it. Nice interior décor, the server was on time & point & after a full review of the menu, we placed our order. As soon as the Appetizers; Veggie Spring Rolls & Seaweed Salad hit the table, our Server said the entrees would be right out. That they were, as in minutes the General Tso Chicken & Salmon Sesame, was placed in front of us. OMGEESH, my Salmon dish was AMAZING! The Salmon was lightly battered & fried to perfection & tossed in just the right amount of Sesame sauce. Since I negated the rice, the Chef was generous with providing me with extra steamed Broccoli… the best Chinese Salmon dish I’ve tried thus far, PERIOD. My friend’s General Tso entrée looked delicious as well, in which was consumed in all of minutes. There’s a sleek bar with 2TV’s, a well spacious Sushi Bar & the dinning area is enormous. There a few booths, pub style & regular tables in the bar area. Restroom Check: very cleaned & sanitizing smell, with basic yet serene décor. Outstanding food, great proportions, very good service, a well designed layout & a price point of a grade A… we were overly satisfied patrons.

I’ve lived in the area for years and this is by far the best Chinese food in the area. It’s both the tastiest and highest quality(such as white chicken meat instead of questionable dark meat). I am a big fan of the crispy honey beef, general tsao chicken, and cashew chicken. The shrimp/veggie tempura, dumplings, and egg rolls are great. It’s also a great place to get a mixed drink.

I like Sarah W. came in a little early for lunch and had to wait for the rice for my sushi. I also observed other folks who arrived after us get their sushi before us. The waiter was apologetic, but it was strange. The food was very good. Parking isn’t the best, but definitely not the worse in Four Corners. I just wish they had delivery.

I think this place is the definition of «okay.» I’ve come here a few times because it’s the only close sushi place near the hotel I stay at on business trips. The sushi is pretty good — nothing earth shattering, but not bad either. The ambiance leaves something to be desired, however; its sticky bar atmosphere makes me feel a bit uncomfortable about trusting them to prepare my raw fish. They do have happy hour until 7 if you sit at the bar, and the bartender is very friendly, helpful, and generous. I’d recommend this place is you are in the area, craving sushi, and don’t want to deal with driving and parking far; otherwise, there are many better sushi places in the area that you should try instead.

We went for lunch on a Wednesday, and were early — prior to 12pm. As a result, our sushi took a long time to be ready as they were still preparing the rice. Our waiter explained it and apologized but clearly that is way out of the ordinary because a woman who sat down next to us after we got our food received her soup and sushi within 10 minutes of her order. We waited longer than that, but like I said, that has to be an anomaly based in part on our early arrival. The miso soup was perfectly acceptable, and we each had 2 rolls. The spicy tuna had a good amount of crunch, and the California roll had very fresh avocado in it. The snow crab roll and the tuna & avocado roll were both good, too. The best part was the price –with tip, our lunch totaled $ 10. We’ll definitely come here again for lunch. The meal specials that don’t include sushi, like pad thai or various Chinese options, is $ 6.95 and that’s a great deal.

An average place with somewhat ok ambiance, little above average food but poor service. Since, I’m a vegetarian, review holds good for vegetarians only. Tempuras are just ok. Rolls are nice. Yasai rolls were best, followed by Sweet potato and Avocado. Main dishes(Noodles and rice) are also ok but not exceptional. I’ve had way better ones before. Most disappointing was the service. We ordered good variety of every category of food as we were 7 people and the server was very bad in explaining what is what. If you want something, ask it only while he is serving the food coz after that now matter if you try to call/ask them, they won’t even stop to listen what you are saying. Once they leave the table, feels like they’re gone forever. Hope they read this and improve on it.

You can’t beat Red Maple’s lunch specials — I was addicted for a few months. I’m talking twice a week frequency here. They also have a variety of Asian fusion entrees ranging from Pad Thai to General Tso’s Chicken with a solid sports bar, and they know how to make a solid drink. The fish is very fresh and the prices are extremely reasonable for sushi rolls. The service is average. Sometimes you won’t get a refill or smile until the check and other times they’ll check on you in between every piece of sushi. A major plus is a private parking lot though! Overall, great food with lovely décor and a spacious restaurant. Sushi is never disappointing, Asian fusion menu options are slightly above average. But I usually stick to their sushi. Service is mediocre, however if you’re more interested in quality food for a good price then Red Maple has got you covered.

This is you average Chinese, yes Chinese restaurant, that serves sushi, thai, etc. Which means that it does nothing great, just average food. The service was also very poor. We were served a bottle of wine that had already turned, and when we sent it back they took a while to resolve it, and even offered the bottle back at half price. Really … Just poor management thinking and approach. There are a bunch of great establishments in the area, so we decided to try it based on the Unilocal rating of four. Its a 3 average at best

Traveling for work and decided to try this spot for sushi.(The other recommended places are in downtown and it’s too annoying there.) AMAZING app tuna jalapeño poppers — that is something I will be craving until I come back. Spoiled myself with the Red Lobster special roll. Delicious and the lobster was very meaty. Great place!

I’ve been coming here for awhile. Most everything I’ve had is on point, if it’s not, a correction is made asap, so I’ve no complaints at all. The service is good, fast and friendly as I often sit at the bar and eat unless with my teens. The entire feeling inside is warm and inviting. I see alot of pick up orders so go for it! Parking is good and private in the rear. Just as a note, if its a bit odor ify in the parking lot, ignore it! This oddly placed iffy looking from the street spot is a gem!

This is our go-to lunch place during work! It’s not there best sushi I’ve ever had, but is definitely good sushi. We always go for the 3 rolls for $ 10.95 lunch special and have never been disappointed. But I’ve also tried their other dishes. This time around, I tried their chirashi bowl — pieces of raw fish, on a bed of sushi rice. It was pretty good! All the fish pieces tasted mostly fresh. The only thing that I wasn’t big on was the stringy radish-like pieces separating the rice from the fish. I just didn’t see the point to it. Anyway, the rolls are also good here. Definitely will keep coming :) you should try it too! :)

I’d been so excited to see a well reviewed sushi place near home, and had hoped that it might be a regular stop for me. Sadly, this will not be a restaurant that I visit frequently, though I’d return if a friend requested that I give them a second try. There was nothing bad about our visit. The fish was fresh enough, the avocado was plentiful, and the rice was only slightly over cooked. There simply wasn’t enough right about the food to make it rise above the rest. The rice was over cooked, after all, and the fish lacked any true flavor. We did not order any cooked dishes, but I see from other reviews that I was better off with the raw selection. The highlight of my meal was actually the salad, simple lettuce and dressing. It was a generous portion, though, and was not drowning in the tasty ginger dressing. We ordered the sushi and sashimi combo, a roll combo, and two extra rolls. The tuna avocado roll, eel avocado roll and California roll all tasted of avocado and not much else. The peanut avocado roll tasted more of peanut butter than of avocado, but I can’t call that a positive. Yellowtail scallion roll had more onion flavor than it needed, and the sushi and sashimi combo had nothing that stood out. The best roll was a salmon skin roll, which was as I expected, as salmon skin always makes me think of bacon, and who doesn’t love bacon? Though the prices were not high, they were more than I want to pay for a lackluster lunch. My search for a regular sushi restaurant continues!

I cannot believe I haven’t written a review for this place yet! Since moving to this part of Silver Spring, I’ve eaten here at least 6 – 7 times, for both lunch and dinner. It’s so easy to overlook as you’re cruising down Colesville Rd and it looks as if there’s no parking, but there is plenty in the back. They have both Chinese and Japanese(sushi) menus. The Chinese food is always fresh and delicious, not at all like a typical greasy spoon takeout place. They have so many different signature sushi rolls and I try to try something new each time. My favorite at the moment is the Golden Roll, which is spicy tuna, salmon, and mango topped with eel and avocado. Their prices are extremely reasonable as well. Oh, and they have a full bar which includes some super yummy cocktail options. Service is always quick and good as well. Can’t wait to go back!

My co-workers and I came here to have an office lunch. From the outside, Red Maple doesn’t look that impressive, but inside is actually very nice. The lunch special was great — you could get 2 rolls w/soup or salad for $ 7.95 or 3 rolls w/soup or salad for $ 10.95. They also had specials on the entrees for $ 6.95 and they came with rice spring roll, soup or salad. We started off with a round of appetizers — edamame, veggie gyoza, pork gyoza and spring rolls. All were tasty and didn’t stay on the plates long! As for my entrée, I went with the 3 roll special and ordered spicy tuna, eel and avocado and sweet potato rolls. One thing I liked about the rolls was that there wasn’t much rice on the outside of the rolls and instead had a lot filling inside. However, my eel and avocado roll had way more avocado than eel inside. The spicy tuna was good, not great. And the sweet potato roll was one of the best ones I’ve ever had. Service was a little whack. It seemed like it was our waiter’s first time dealing with a large group, so there were some mishaps even though there were maybe 2 other parties dining at the time.

I ordered shrimp and chicken pad Thai w/no peanuts. I also asked if they had sweet soy sauce and I was told yes. Fast forward, I received pad Thai in ketchup sauce and regular packets of soy sauce. I don’t think I’ve ever had pad Thai with ketchup. This was a complete waste of money, because I couldn’t eat any of it. The one star is for the cheap price, which now makes sense, and the shrimp spring rolls. I’m so disappointed. If only I could have Café Asia’s pad Thai and sweet soy sauce. Not sure I will give them another try– I work too hard to waste my money.

Judging from the outside you would expect an old school Asian restaurant, but the inside is very modern. The staff was very friendly and they have great lunch specials. We had the Mongolian Beef, the sashimi platter, and a tuna roll. I though the MB was very flavorful. The sushi was just ok, the fish was fresh. The hot food on the other hand was very good.

I love Red Maple. That’s it. It’s close to where I live and the sushi is always on point. Great ambiance, full bar, good service, and fresh, fresh sushiiii! Oh and I appreciate the decent prices– a lot of places try to overcharge mediocre sushi out the wazoo. Keep in mind, they serve Japanese, Chinese and Thai food, so I couldn’t tell you about the rest of their menu because I go strictly for the sushi.
