Jason House Chinese Restaurant

This is good fast-​food Chinese for takeout. It’s not excellent but it’s not poor either. It’s exactly what you would expect from store front Asian American food. If you are local and need a quick bite, I wouldn’t recommend against it.

I love small Chinese take out joints, I was having a craving for some Chinese food and stopped here, very plain restaurant in a lovely plaza in a nice town, I’ll prob never return tho, I was a minute past the lunch specials and was denied ordering from that section, also the buffet was a few minutes past too, also denied, typical but at least honor it, so I got a dinner combo, crab rangoons and a soda, 20.00 Bill, no thanks

The food here is very good… perhaps even excellent.
The downside is the atmosphere, and the presentation.
Anyone who thinks Simsbury is a «rich town» should come here. While Jason House has some very good Chinese food, they have perhaps the most dreary tables, chairs, and wall decorations. The flatware is awful, and the way things are served is «fast-​junk-​food» style.
But again, the food itself is very good. Prices very reasonable. From the front counter, you can see right into the kitchen. So if you want to see how your food is prepared, it’s pretty visible. For these positives, I declare Jason House to have some of the best Chinese food in the Simsbury/​Avon/​Granby/​Farmington/​WH/​Canton area.

$ 6 gets you six half empty sad looking trays on the steam table. Three of the trays are dedicated to starches– white rice, fried rice, and lo mein noodles. Not much in the food department.
Not much in the service department either, considering I paid when I walked in and was accosted as I was leaving for «not paying». BS madame– BS! I certainly did, I remember telling you «buffet lunch and an iced tea». It was $ 7 bucks and change, I paid with two fives. She didnt remember, Ugh,
She let me go w/​o paying twice, but I felt like I had a scarlet letter tattooed on my ass. I’d rather get a gas station sandwich than come here again…

Food quality is good, but not great.
Special Wonton are the family favorite…
Solid value… for take out.
